Julie's Favorite Gear
Julie Foucher wasted little time becoming one of the best known names in women’s CrossFit, with Top 5 finishes in her first four CrossFit Games appearances (2011-2014). She would likely have made it five-for-five, but an achilles injury suffered during her appearance at the Central Regional kept her out of the Games in 2015 and led her to turn away from competition to focus on her education.
One of the most impressive aspects of Foucher’s success is the fact that she’s excelled as an athlete while simultaneously working toward a medical degree from the esteemed Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, class of 2017.
Julie was introduced to CrossFit while completing her undergrad at the University of Michigan in 2009. Putting her background as a high school gymnast and track athlete to use, she qualified for her first Games within a year, and continued taking on all comers, finishing first at the Central East Regionals in 2012 and 2014 and reaching the podium at the Games both years.
With the combination of her fitness expertise and medical training, Julie hopes to help many people live fuller, healthier lives in the years to come.
