Rogue HG Collars is rated 3.9827586206896552 out of 5 by 58.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid. After three months of use (3-4 times per week) I've very happy with these collars. They slip on quick and lock in solid. I think just as solid as the spring clips and they slide on ten times easier. I'm not lifting huge weight (315 max dead lift) and I don't snatch much anymore so don't I drop from overhead but I think these would hold up to that level of use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK These look nice and hold up pretty well and are quicker to slip on and off the bar vs. spring collars. However, they start walking down the bar sleeve with repeated drops unlike the OSO collars which stay put.
Date published: 2016-04-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from These are a great backup I use these less than expected because my OSO mighty collars are nicer than expected. These came with my Ohio bar in a large order (got a rack) and I do like these but prefer the OSOs.
Date published: 2016-03-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good but wear out over time They start out great. Easy to put on and take off. However, in a busy gym with the bar being dropped repeatedly, they break or come loose. Plates will tend to push them around after a while If you are using in your garage, they are fine - used mine for a year and no problem. Will be looking at the OSO collars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Come loose I bought these and after 1 year in my box, 4 have broken completely, and the rest wont hold if the bar is dropped repeatedly. They are plastic so the locking mechanism wears out quickly. They work great for strength moves in singles where repeated dropping isn' a factor. If you buy them for a busy Crossfit, where barbell dropping is going to happen hundreds of times a day, go with something better. We are slowly turning back to the old fashioned metal spring clamps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for most part, but there's a better option I purchased these when I bought my Ohio bar. These are certainly better than spring clips and have served me well over past couple of years. When dropping weights, these will tend to slip (slightly--but noticeably--for me). I was able to get a pair of OSO collars, which do not slip when the barbell is dropped. If you are reading this review, you are considering spending a bit more money for a good collar so I would suggest you spend a few more bucks and get the OSO collars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Holding up I have been using these for 8 months now 5-7 times a week. They have been dropped from over head, slammed in failed attempts, abused and yelled at. To me they are worth the money. They do slide a bit with each drop from waist to overhead does not matter, this is the only reason for the 4 stars. I do wish there was way to fine tune on them to make them more snugg but then they would break easier. I am very happy with them.
Date published: 2015-08-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from They are ok - general use only I have two pairs of these. One pair fits tight enough that bumper 2.0 plates don't walk. The other is loose enough that the bumpers do walk and use on the multi-grip bar is not feasible - they are simply too loose. I do not have a better recommendation as these are all I own but next time will buy the metal ones to try due to their positive reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine Collars I have used these collars on my Rogue Ohio bar (Bright Zinc / Black Zinc) to lock the Rogue bumpers in place, and they have worked very well for months now. They go on and come off easily as well. These collars have been holding up well after sessions of squats, deadlifts, bent-over rows, bench presses, etc. I highly recommend these collars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for General Purpose, Good for Oly I have had mine for several months, using them almost daily. They continue to be as tight and dependable as the day I first received them. They are perfect for "non-contact" lifting (squats and presses), but they are not great for cleans and deadlifts, where the weights will routinely be dropped on the ground. During heavy lifts when the bumper plates crash to the ground, the collars can move a bit. This doesn't happen frequently. You can rep out 21-15-9 @ 225 on deadlift and it won't phase the collars, but if you're cleaning 275+ and throw down with authority, they can move a couple inches and require a reset.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work well for me Reading over the other reviews I see that others have had issues with these collars. I have never experienced any issues with slip or faulty operation and I have used steadily for over a year. At first I did not like them because I did not feel like I could change weight as fast as I could with my cheap spring type collars. After getting frustrated with the spring type (do to too much slip) I gave the HG's another shot, and now that I am used to them I change weight out just as fast, and they do not move at all on me. I am very happy with these and would purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Used other high end collars before and these are the best. Looked dumb the first couple uses, cause I wasn't fast but when you get used to them, they were awesome. Very fast transition. Very strong. No slip in them at all. Spent lots of money working out and these were the best investment. Actually bragged about my collars. Haha

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not For Olympic Lifts I've been using these with Rogue bars and Rogue plates. I was under the impression that these would work well for Olympic lifts. They absolutely should not be purchased for any type of lift where you regularly drop the bar. After a single drop, your plates will travel .25"-.5". On the flip side, these would be great safeties for regular gym lifts. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these for a squat - bench - military press type of situation. They're easy to get on and off of a bar, and will definitely hold weight if balance starts to falter. If you want to dump weight to the floor, however, look elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage These are garbage. Used them the first time today, for deadlifts, and about 5 reps into a full-out death set, I thought something felt really wrong. Looked at the collars, they'd slipped away about one inch on the left side, which screwed the whole set for me. As some of the other reviews have said, rogue makes some good stuff, but this isn't one of those products. Now to figure out if I can return these, or if I should just throw them out. Seriously though, do not buy these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Collars Just received mine today. Very easy to figure out, took me less than a minute. Very solid hold as well. Also shipped very quickly. Less than a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, Easy and Secure These super quick and easy to get on and off. I've used mine about everyday for the past 3 months. Still just as secure as ever and I don't see any signs of wear. I will get just a little bit of movement (1/4-1/2 inch) if I'm dropping 185+ for more for multiple sets and reps on my Olympic lifts. If you won't zero movement get the Pro Loc collars. If you want quick, easy and plenty secure enough get these. Or better yet get both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy I have used other spring collars before and have had them bend. These guys are quick and easy to put on and take off and they don't feel like they are going to break any time soon. Plus when you lock them in you know they are not going anywhere. Top notch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet Collars These collars are awesome! Perfect soft fit with a rubber piece inside the collar to prevent the sleeves from getting beat up, how ever I'm gonna give it 4 stars cause of the price, the price can be a little cheaper i would say 20-25$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome clamps!!! These came with my kit and I have to say, they are amazing!! Awesome clamps and very sturdy!! Bought a separate curl bar and they work great on that as well!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, durable and worth the money After doing many wods using the traditional spring collars (not rogue) I purchased a pair of Rogue HG Collars, cause honestly I as tired of stoping and having to readjust the spring collars.... Well I've been using them for a while now more than a year plus and they have held true... Never have to readjust or mess with them, easy off on when you have to add weight in maybe a EMOM The only bad thing anyone could possibly say is I noticed a slight crack on both collars, here is where I don't think its bad.... Called rogue asked them If the warranty covered that..... The rogue employee simply said if it breaks return and receive new ones..... Badass! That was maybe a couple months ago they still haven't broke.... Badass product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, Steady, Secure! I've had a pair of these for nearly a year (I hit up the gym 6 times a week) and they are still strong, steady, and secure! I squat 3 times a week (judge me if you want haha) - these collars offer me a tremendous peace of mind as I am able to focus on my form and depth rather than worrying about balancing the weights / worrying about the weights shifting or even sliding off. The same goes for my deadlifts, benching, and push-presses. *Advice: Make the effort to push the collars ALL the way against the weights (tight and snug) before snapping them into place. And if you are a deadlifter, be sure to check and re-secure the collars after each set - the bounce/shock of deadlifts tend to slightly shift the collars :P +a.C.y.+

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Collars. I bought these and hit the gym. My bench went from 215x5 lbs to 225x5 lbs merely because I knew that the weights weren't going to rattle around and shift (like they do when I was using my gym's stock/default clips). They work excellently and more importantly look completely bad ass. I got many compliments and people inquiring about these clips after the first day I used them. Excellent buy, I have to admit at first I was hesitant because of the price but now that I have them in my hand I can say they were totally worth it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed quality Got two sets. 1 of the four collars was broken almost immediately with normal use. The other three are fine.
Date published: 2014-03-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why Did I Ever Use Spring Collars? These collars are amazing. When they are on a bar they are not coming off.
Date published: 2014-01-03
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best Rogue product I'm on my second pair (soon to be 3rd) as they break within a few months. Rogue stands behind their product which is nice but....These collars also slip, so the reality is you're better off with cheap spring clips.
Date published: 2013-12-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds really well For such a simple task, these collars get the job done well. I get zero plate movement with this things, even with my screwed up snatch form... Haven't seen any signs of wear yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for Globo Gym I work in a "globo gym" on base. After being annoyed that there weren't enough collars for all the bars and being tired of walking around looking like I lost something as I hunted for some, I got these. Not only are they superior as collars, but it's just nice to have my own! They've held up very well and just makes it just that more bearable to be in a globo gym.
Date published: 2013-08-14
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Idea I really liked the collars, however, they do not have durability I am use to with Rogue products. Lasted for only a few months before they lost the ability to lock. Great idea for collars.
Date published: 2013-04-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I got these and love them. Very easy to put on and take off, and much better than ordinary spring collars. I've read the other reviews and was a bit worried about them breaking as they have stated, but I've had them for a few weeks now and they seem to be fine. It may be because I'm a little extra careful when I remove them and put them on, but with time, I will see how they really hold up. Regardless, they're inexpensive, look nice, and do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When they are on, they are ON!! But when the red tab breaks they are off to Rogue on your dime.
Date published: 2013-04-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red tab will break These are great collars. I have used mine 3-4 days a week for two years. They started to slip a bit after a year and the red tab/lock broke after two years of abuse. Rogue replaced them without issue. These collars are worth the money.
Date published: 2013-03-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality One of my collars is easy to unhinge while the other one is near impossible to take off without breaking a finger. It's a great product and superior to other collars that I have used in the past, not afraid of plates and bumpers slipping off if I get a little off center
Date published: 2013-03-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have I will never go back to spring collars. These collars are easy on and easy off. They hold tight. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is I notice the collars I purchased a year and a half ago are now looser fitting than the newer collars I have. I think it is because of the material they are made of and I am not really sure how this could be fixed. I definitely recommend these to all of my friends
Date published: 2013-01-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Tight I love the collars. They hold tight and are very easy to take on and off. I never use the spring collars that came with my bar.
Date published: 2012-12-24
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Break pretty easily These collars worked good until one broke on me the other day. They lasted me about 12 months. I take care of my gear so I expect it to last. I am a little disappointed, but compared to most collars these are a decent product.
Date published: 2012-12-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than Spring Clips These collars work a lot better than the traditional spring clips. They hold plates flush and firm during cleans, DL and squats. I've had them for 5 months and so far so good: no cracks or loose connections. It beats waiting for collars at the gym, but beware, there's always someone looking to take them when they're laying around.
Date published: 2012-10-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice concept, poor design The idea is pretty good, but unfortunately, the red clip breaks after only a few uses of VERY light load. AT that point, it turns them in to overpriced paperweights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Nothing more to say. Great product easy to use very durable decent price.
Date published: 2012-09-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a fan Do Grace like a mortal (ie, not touch and go for 30 reps) and they will slip. But the big problem is that they break too easily. For the price, they are just too flimsy for a commercial gym setting. We switched to spring clips. We get about the same performance for 1/4 the price. Plus, they never fail or break. These look cool, that's about the only thing I like about them.
Date published: 2012-07-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Em'! I have these in my home gym, they are lock jaw tight and not sure why everyone else has their clamps break? I assume from dropping the bars from overhead often or doing high rep CF WODs I don't drop the bar from overhead and perhaps that's why I've had no probs with mine for a year, knock on wood, they've been solid since day 1
Date published: 2012-06-30
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't do the one job it's designed for this collar looks neat, but doesn't function as a collar. It's singular mission is to stay tight and not let weights slip - nifty design but fails to accomplish its task - easily slips, does not keep plates snug fit - you need a collar for this collar - terrible.
Date published: 2012-06-13
Rated 3 out of 5 by from rogue clips Dont waste your money. I bought a bunch of these and they dont hold up. Only 1 pair of my purchase remain useable. I love Rogue just not their clips

Rated 5 out of 5 by from me likey very much These work great for me. Easy on. Easy off. Holds plates on the bar very well. I've been using the same pair for over 1 year without any problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good with minimal problems. The collar loss their ablity hold weight during heavy and rough workouts. Also, they stripped and scratched up my new rogue operator bar.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from work great until they break I have about 10 pair of these, and I have had to send back at least a dozen in the last year. I like the collars a lot, but shipping them back every 3 months gets pretty old.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good until they break I have 4 pairs of the Rogue HG collars...they work great until they break. ..had them for 3 months before they start busting up.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than spring clips! I recently bought a pair of the HG Collars and they work much better than the spring clips that I have been using up to this point. Easy to use and hold the weights on tight even when dropped. Great piece of gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficiency I have had these now for nearly 6 months and I've used them on every lifting session. I have never seen them slip at all. They actually grip the bar tighter than any clip I've ever used!!! I Love these!!
