Rogue Stubby Axle

Deceptively Simple Grip Training

Featuring the same over-sized 1.9” outside diameter as the standard Rogue Axle, the Stubby Axle is two feet shorter (5’ vs. 7’)—with 8” of loadable sleeve length and a condensed 43” between the collars. This creates a challenging, change-of-pace fat bar, and another excellent option for building better wrist and grip strength without deviating much from your regular lifting regimen.

The Rogue Stubby Axle has been battle tested in competition at the Reebok CrossFit Games, and includes our signature black powder coat finish for a firm, comfortable grip.

IMPORTANT: Some standard barbell collars may not work on this specialty bar. We recommend using either the Rogue Metal Axle Collars or the OSO Axle Collars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for accessory work Got this bar for accessory work to go along with the rest of my Rogue bars. It carries the same quality as the rest of my bars and the thicker grip adds some needed variation to training.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good spare bar Ended up getting this as an add on bar. Works great but need to get the different size collars as currently I am using the sports tape in order to use standard collars. The only issue I have with this bar is the placement of the sticker.... it is NOT centered on my bar and it absolutely aggravates me to a point where I have to put my own mark. Overall a good bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for forearms Bar is perfect for training forearms. Wrap the sleeves with athletic tape, just like a baseball bat, and you can use whatever collars you have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for women too!! When my husband and I got this, I was afraid it would be too big for me to get a good grip. But it's works great for me 99.9% of the time! I suggest getting the correct collars though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thick is the Way to Go My lifting buddy and I bought this to add some variation to our workouts, and after the first day training my forearms were cooked. Great piece of equipment to spice up your lifting regime. The only complaint I have is that the collars we normally use on our bar did not fit this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stubby Axle for Variety!! I bought one of the stubby axles a few months ago and have enjoyed it so much that I bought another one. Great fun for workouts and quality product from Rogue!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great... Once you get collars Got this bar a few weeks ago along with a pair of the 45 and 25lb HG Bumpers. The collars I had for another bar wouldn't fit. Before buying new collars I contacted Rogue about the Proloc collars, the ones explicitly recommended on this page. Rogue said they recommend the HG collars and they can't recommend or guarantee the Prolocs... Anyway I got the HGs and love them and the bar. It holds chalk very well and the HG collars may slip a bit after a few drops but they are easy and quick to adjust. Overall I highly recommend the bar but be sure to get the right collars. The only cons are the sleeves are fairly short and can't be loaded up too much, and it needs reference marks other than the tape in the middle so you can place your hands properly, quickly, over and over during fast paced workouts
