The Castro Bar is a polished 28.5 mm bar with no center knurling and both powerlifting and Olympic lifting knurling marks. This bar has the same great knurling that has made Rogue bars famous. It features high quality bronze bushings for reliable spin, and will whip enough for use in Olympic Weightlifting.
This bar is bare steel and just like any fine piece of machined steel this will require some upkeep. Occasionally brushing the bar down with 3-in-1 oil or WD-40 will create a beautiful patina look. This is how bars were made for decades and this creates an unmatched feel.

Review by WoodyQualityI am no elite crossfit athlete, but this bar is awesome! The construction is flawless. The knurl is perfect and the collar spin is very smooth. However, if you live near the ocean or in a humid climate(like the southern states), the bar will really need to be kept up and cleaned/oiled frequently if you want to keep the finish nice. Within just a few days, there was already rust along the shaft and collars. Personally, I don't mind at all doing a little extra work to keep my equipment nice. I've been doing 5x5 deadlifts with 565lbs and its holding up great. The spin is okay, but may not be fast enough for elite oly lifters.
