CALLING ALL SERVICE MEMBERS! WHO IS THE FITTEST IN YOUR PROFESSION? 

The CrossFit Service Open celebrated those who selflessly serve their communities each day, showcasing how these individuals use fitness to succeed on the job. 


Now it’s time for the second stage of competition — the CrossFit Service Cup: Built to Serve presented by Momentous. Service members across the global CrossFit community can compete against their peers for fun or for bragging rights and the title of fittest in their profession. 

A $10 entry fee gets you into the competition; $35 gets you entry + an official CrossFit Service Cup t-shirt.

The CrossFit Service Cup is a virtual competition that asks athletes to complete three workouts over the course of one week. The competition will include Competitive, Rx’d, and community divisions, and service members in the following professions are invited to join:

  • Affiliate Owner
  • CrossFit Trainer

  • Educator

* Scores cannot be updated or added to the leaderboard following the competition close date and time. Please allow sufficient time for completing and submitting your score and video in advance.


COMPETITION DIVISIONS

  • Competitive: Competitors must complete the workouts Rx'd, provide video with their score submission and are eligible for prizes.
  • Community Rx'd: Competitors will perform the workouts Rx'd, do not need to submit video evidence and are not eligible for prizes.
  • Community: Competitors complete the workouts for fun, and are not eligible for prizes. Scaling options are provided on the workout tabs but athletes are free to modify further based on their ability.

Equipment Needed

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:

  • Barbell, plates, and collars
  • Pull-up bar
  • Box for box jumps
  • Medicine ball and wall-ball shot target
  • Concept2 rower
  • 400-meter run course OR air runner
    • Note: For the 800-meter run, athletes may run two laps of the 400-meter course or use a separate 800-meter course.
  • Tape, cones, or another object to mark a safe distance between equipment


Any athlete who alters the equipment or movements described in the official workout PDFs may be disqualified from the competition.

This workout is dedicated to Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Crabtree, who was killed in Al Kut, Iraq, on Thursday, June 8, 2006. Crabtree is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter; and numerous other friends and family members.

This workout was created in honor of Randy Simmons, 51, a 27-year LAPD veteran and SWAT team member who was killed Feb. 7, 2008, in the line of duty. He is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Matthew; and daughter, Gabrielle.

*Note: The original workout calls for a 30/20-lb medicine ball. For ease of implementation at an affiliate, standard wall-ball loads are used for this competition. Athletes who wish to use the heavier medicine ball are free to do so.

This workout is dedicated to CrossFit Kids Seminar Staff Flowmaster Kelly Brown, who passed away on Sept. 15, 2020, after a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 44.

Brown is survived by her husband, John, and their two children, a 14-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter.

PRIZES

To be eligible to win, athletes must:
     - Participate in the competitive leaderboard.
     - Have video of their performances.
     - Provide proof of their occupation on request.
     - See the CrossFit Service Cup Rulebook for additional details.

Each service occupation’s top man and woman finisher will receive the following:

  • Free registration for the CrossFit Online Level 1 Course. If the winner has a valid Level 1, they will receive free registration for a Level 2 Certificate Course. Any winner who has a valid Level 2 will receive access to three of CrossFit’s online courses.
  • A $100 gift card to Momentous, the Official Supplement & Sports Nutrition Partner of CrossFit.
