Rogue Monster Utility Bench
Now Available in up to 6 Custom Configurations

The Monster Utility Bench is designed with an extra-wide 24” base and a heavy-duty 3x3” 11-gauge steel frame. Manufactured in Columbus, OH, each unit ships disassembled from our warehouse to reduce shipping costs, and comes with all necessary hardware for a quick set-up, including a set of rubber feet for added sturdiness on uneven surfaces. The overall footprint is 44” long x 24” wide.

You can customize the Monster Utility Bench during the ordering process by selecting your preferred bench height (standard vs. shorty) and type of bench pad (standard vs. Competition Fat Pad™ vs. Thompson Fat Pad™). Our new Shorty Bench option allows athletes to use a Fat Pad™ while keeping the unit at a more traditional flat bench height.

Monster Utility Bench is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A tank -- see pics of my customizations!! In short, this bench is excellent. I bought the "shorty" version with the Thompson Fat Pad; I think if you get the full-height version with the TFP it would be way too high. At any rate: the bench is typical Rogue: overbuilt with 3x3 11g steel tubing, well designed, awesome-looking, especially the gussets. All that said, I had a couple of design complaints (which seem to be quite common among other owners of the RMUB)... (1) No wheels or handle to easily move the bench around. Some may view this as a feature: you will always get to do an additional 80-lb deadlift / farmers walk at the beginning and end of your workout. If this bench will remain in place, this isn't an issue, but if you're using it in your garage gym and you need to shuffle equipment around, it's inconvenient, and in my view a weakness. (2) the big chunky feet can get in the way of your own feet, depending on how you position yourself when bench pressing. SOOOO...I brought the bench to a local metal fabricator in Paterson NJ (THANK YOU Dejong Iron Works -- great job!!) who made the following modifications in 4 days (including the 4th of July!): On one end ("the head"): (1) I bought large Rollerblade wheels and some appropriately sized nuts, bolts and washers; Dejong fabricated two brackets and welded them to the frame (see pics). On the other end ("the foot"): (2) drilled a 1" diameter hole -- I then can attach the standard Monster 1" pin with the red rubber handle and use it as a handle to lift up the bench and maneuver it around on the wheels. This also allows you to of course remove the pin if it's in the way (which it isn't really). See pics. (3) cut the horizontal feet down about 3-1/2" so that the rubber foot pads are basically flush with the vertical post. This helps keep the chunky feet out of the way (although still not completely) without sacrificing stability in any meaningful way. I've tried other brands of benches which use a single vertical post, so in effect the bench is a tripod. This design is great for bench pressing and helps if your floor is uneven, but it's a little unstable if you're using the bench for other things (box jumps, dumbbell rows, etc). So I think my customization to the RMUB strikes the right balance: it streamlines the feet to help get them out of the way, while keeping a more stable "4-point stance". See pics. These mods cost me about $200. They may have charged me a bit of a premium, but I don't really give AF because they did a great job and did it fast :) Don't get me wrong -- the Rogue Monster Utility Bench is an AWESOME product out-of-the-box. BUT I think it has some shortcomings. With these customizations, it is now PERFECT (at least for me). Hope this helps!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from built like a tank very happy with this bench and its design. I got the shorty w thompson fat pad, feels very nice and unique with the scapulas almost like extra push off the bench, love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid bench I bought it a few weeks ago and have used it a couple of times. I like it a lot. I was looking for a wider flat bench and this is perfect. It is heavy but that was what I was looking for so it would not move during step ups and other exercises when I am not actually laying on the bench. To move it I just fold up a towel under one end am able to lift one side and slide the other on my hard floors. Overall I am very happy. Maybe in retrospect, the adjustable bench might have been more versatile but I think the width and stability makes up for the lack of adjustability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to survive the apocalypse! This thing would support a skyscraper. Definitely built like a tank. Once bolted together this thing won’t budge . The feet are thick and grippy. That comp fat pad is awesome. I put it on some uneaven areas and still sitting flat. This is the only bench you will ever need it can never be destroyed! It is on the heavy side to move around a lot but if you have it for lifting weights I cannot see anyone being able to actually complain about that. I am 5”10 plenty off extra length for a tall guy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tank of a bench I paired this with the Thompson fat pad and monolifts chasing a heavy bench. Overbuilt is a word I would use to describe this bench. Zero wiggle or shimmy. Another great product from Rogue.
