Nike Metcon Free x - Men's
Black / Black-Black

By combining the key elements of the Nike Free running shoe with the Metcon cross-training shoe, the new Nike Free X Metcon offers the best of both worlds for the dynamic athlete.

Lightweight mesh and deep grooves along the sole enable omni-directional flexibility and comfortable breathability for the runner, gymnast, martial artist, etc. At the same time, the use of rubber wraps, flywire cables, and a soft foam midsole ensure much needed stability and cushioning for the weightlifter, CrossFitter, rock climber, etc. The result is an all-purpose athletic shoe that’s equipped equally for the track, the weight room, the WOD, and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work for me! Most importantly, they look cool! Second most important: very comfortable. Fit is true to size and equivalent to other Nike models. These shoes are very light and cushion-y. I am a middle of the pack Crossfitter and I bought these to complement my Metcons which I use for most WODs. I switch to the Metcon Free when the workout requires running. In a previous life, as a middle of the pack runner, i probably would not have selected these shoes as I think I need some motion control along with cushioning. Shoes are such an individual thing, it’s impossible to make a general recommendation that applies to everyone. If you do well with other Nike models and your running style and feet don’t have special needs, these shoes will probably work for you. If they don’t, they still look cool and are comfortable for casual wear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Shoes! These shoes are great for circuit training! I like to run laps around our gym after sets and they feel terrific! Supportive and bouncy! I love doing snatches and clings in them! The heels are lower than a regular tennis shoe so I can go low to the ground and push from heels…. I highly recommend!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent CrossFit shoe! This is by far and away the most comfortable and supportive CrossFit/Running shoe I’ve ever worn! Super stable for Olympic lifting, yet light enough for the WOD runs. I highly recommend this shoe!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable, but a bit squishy Been a fan of Metcons since the first ones came out, and the Frees since before that. The hybrid of them is (surprise) somewhere in the middle of their combined utility. For metcon workouts, I found them a little too soft and squishy for weightlifting: barbells, kettlebells, or anything that benefits from solid connection with the ground. Ultra comfortable for running (though I like running in Metcons and not everyone does) or jumping movements. Overall though, I can't think of any situation where I'd rather where these than my regular Metcons, or even Nanos. Four stars for their comfort in everyday use and looks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great shoe, runs a tad small I bought these a month ago and love them. They are all around a great shoe, but they do run a tad small. i wear a 10.5 and my toes feel slightly cramped, but not too bad. I think an 11 would be too big.
