Protect your shins

Rope climbs, dead lifts, cleans and snatches can be hard on your shins (so hard that some athletes develop staph infections). Built with UV protective 5MM of hi-tech neoprene and breathable 10-24 Lycra, Rock Guards protect and serve. They’re light-weight and slightly compressive, yet offer the ultimate in protection.

Rock Guards are great for:

  • Rope climbs
  • Dead-lifts
  • Cleans and snatches
  • Box Jumps

New Features:

  • Impact resistive 5MM Neoprene fronts fused to a compressive lycra sleeve.
  • Back zip makes them easy to get on.
  • Foot stirrup and silicone grips keep them in place

Sizing Chart

  • If your calves are < 38CM in circumference at the widest point and your height is 155CM (5') or less and therefore the length of your leg (tibial tuberosity to the ankle bone is generally 30cm or less) use the small size.
  • If your calves are < 38CM in circumference at the widest point use the medium size.
  • If your calves are > 38CM in circumference at the widest point use the large / extra large size

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works ok Fits ok except zippers won't stay done up. Other than that they are good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are awesome! I bought these primarily for rope climbs. Very happy with the fit and function. They stay in place and are holding up very well! Great piece of gear to carry in your bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect. If only they had a real XL. My calves are huge and tear the stitching a bit every time I put em on. Other than that, they yare perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Shins Love These! I should have bought these months ago. I'm tall (6'4") and always dragging the bar up my shins. Shins got so bad even with tall socks a not-quite-healed scab would tear again. These are great protection. I haven't come up short on a box jump yet with them (I'm sure I will because in the past this is usually how the skin injury started), but they seem plenty tough enough to protect the shins when I do come up short. Zero complaints about comfort. I forget I'm even wearing them. Super comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for deadlifts I used to kill my shins when I did deadlifts, but after buying these I don’t tear myself up anymore. They have a nice tight fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for deadlifting, with one exception These are terrible with my high top chucks. They hurt. The zipper presses in hard. Just be warned if you lift in anyone other than low top shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be careful of what size you order When I first tried them on they were tight. I was at the box so I went through a workout. Afterward I planned to send them back but once I paid for shipping it wasn’t worth the aggravation. I like the guards but go big on the size of your calf size is near the upper end of the suggested max. I’m hoping they expand over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great prevention for box-jump injuries I bought these after biting it on a 24" box-jump for the 4th time during a metcon and I really wish I had bought these earlier. The padding is thick enough to significantly reduce the damage you would do otherwise. In reading some of the other reviews, I have to say that: Yes, you'll probably have a nasty bruise, but it would not be anything like hitting the edge with just your skin. It's not realistic to think they would stop any damage from a missed jump. Otherwise, ask yourself, would you pay $30 to avoid having bloody shins after a miss? I had also never done rope-climbs before getting these and a couple of weeks ago I was able to do them in a metcon without any damage to my legs. The negatives: Like others, I find the zippers on them pretty much useless and the stirrup straps on one of them is coming unstitched, but it's not impacting the overall product. The grip material on the top of them does a great job of holding them in place for the most part.
