Rogue Thai-Style Jump Rope 2.0

Singles Never Felt So Bad

Inspired by the the traditional heavy ropes used by Thailand’s famed Muay Thai fighters, Rogue's fully updated Thai-Style Jump Rope is made from a durable 9' PVC cable with an improved plastic snap-lock system and custom adjustability.

Many boxers and martial artists in Southeast Asia have long favored a heavier jump rope for helping to build upper body strength, stamina, and explosive power. Athletes who regularly use standard speed ropes can also benefit from varying their resistance levels by incorporating a Thai-Style rope into their training. Just be warned, while double-unders aren’t impossible, they’re also not recommended.

The Thai-Style Jump Rope 2.0 weighs 13.6 ounces in total, and features 1.25" diameter handles. Due to the PVC construction of the cable, the rope is best used on a rubber or non-abrasive surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, effective piece of training equipment Next to my pull-up bar, the Thai-Style jumprope is arguably my favorite piece of training equipment. I'd recommend this rope for both beginners and seasoned athletes. The weight and thickness of the rope better affords slower-paced jumping and more control for beginners until you've got the rhythm of things, and for experienced skippers, this will take your workout to the next level––the additional weight may not seem like much, but it ups the intensity and challenge of my standard 5-minute warmup substantially!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was great up until it broke I bought this rope as my second one (I’m a Muay Thai instructor) and it broke off at the handle and whipped my client in the leg- no big deal but still didn’t look good on me. Am purchasing a last one and hopefully this one is updated. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Killer Training I have been jumprope training for years. I usually use a licorice or cable/bearing rope. I got this for added resistance. It works. I can tell a difference with this in my shoulders and total O2 depletion. After a little getting used to the heavier weight, I don’t have a problem doing double-unders or crosses; it just takes an adjustment in timing. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product! Highly Recommend it! I purchased a couple of these to train my clients(im a personal trainer) as well as for my own personal training. It's just as heavy as i remember the ropes in Thailand and sturdy as well. My clients definitely feel the difference in the shoulders and it forces them to jump better as the pain from smacking yourself in the toes with this rope is motivation enough. For adjusting the length i simply tie a loose knot next to the handle or both handles depending on how short i need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite rope so far I've had this rope a couple weeks and so far it's my favorite. The weight of the rope and smoothness of the ball bearing action makes it much easier to use than any of the other ropes I have tried so far. The weight gives me great feedback. I'm 6'4" and the length seems ok. I could probably use a few extra inches. I did adjust the clips so I am getting every last mm out of it. Just in case your struggling with the whole adjustment issue, here's what I learned from trial and error. The handles can be unscrewed near the rope end to expose the clips inside. The clips are actually two pieces of black plastic that need to be separated in order to pull the rope through. Basically two rings; one ring slides over the other. When you open the handles it will look like a piece of black plastic at the end of the rope, so just know that it is actually two pieces that pop apart. Once I popped off the outer ring, I just held the end of the rope under hot water from the faucet and it softened the pvc enough to slide the inner ring up or down. Once the inner ring is in the position you want, just slide the outer ring back over the inner ring to lock the rope in place. Hope that helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't have to be high tech to be effective I bought this to replace a much more expensive weighted rope system that doesn't come in adjustable sizes... As others have reported, with a little work, this rope can be adjusted in size. It works great! Very effective for more high resistance workouts. As the description accurately describes it, this rope is evil. Though some have dinged it a star for being "non-adjustable," I feel for this price, you can do a little work to adjust it.
