Olive Green Garage Gym

• Look at your floor layout and ceiling height and pick a room that has the best flow and space to easily move around in. Most often this will be your garage, basement, or in some cases a spare bedroom.
• Will what I need/want to fit? Think if you want a rack, squat stand, a place for a pull-up bar, and if you have enough space for a full length barbell or if you might need to look into one of our space saving short bars.
• Can I bolt to the floor/walls? Depending if you choose to go with a rack that may need bolted down, consider if you can or want to bolt it to the floor or if you prefer a wall-mounted unit. We have squat stand and rack options for both as well as those that don’t require any type of mounting so rest assured, we have an option to fit your needs.
• Safety - Can I safely perform the movements I want to? Most importantly, you should always be safe with any setup you choose to go with. We offer numerous safety options for your rack or stand but also be sure you have enough clearance around you for any movements that might be in your program.

• What do I need or want to include in my home gym? Think of things that are essential to your training program, like a barbell, rack or squat stand, plates, etc.
• What movements do I want to do? For example, you may not want to do muscle ups at home, but would still like to do pull-ups, so you won’t need as much space above your pull-up bar.

• Aside from space considerations, looking at how you can maximize your spending is crucial, especially if you’re on a budget. Not to worry though, we have options for anyone to make sure you can get the most out of your home gym.

• Do you have enough equipment that you need dedicated storage? Often in a minimalist home gym you can get away with simply stacking your gear to the side when not in use to keep things organized. Once you start to accumulate enough equipment though, our storage solutions can become a necessity to save on space and keep your gym tidy.

Turning your garage into a dedicated home gym is an achievable goal that doesn’t require too much space and investment to begin with. A garage gym is an ongoing project, so a simple setup is achievable. Here are a few steps to start with. First clear space in your garage. Plan a layout for the equipment you want to install. Apply appropriate rubber flooring or gym mats. Finally, invest in some basic equipment you know you will get the most out of.

The essential gym equipment pieces for a garage gym or home gym include a power rack or squat stand, barbell and weight plates, dumbbells, a bench, and a cardio machine like an Echo Bike or rower. This gear will provide a solid foundation for strength training and cardiovascular workouts at home.

Having a garage gym or home gym equipment offers several benefits. Firstly, it provides convenience as you can work out whenever you want without the need to travel to a commercial gym. Secondly, it saves money in the long run as you won't have to pay for gym memberships. Lastly, it offers privacy and a comfortable environment to exercise in.

The amount of space required depends on the equipment you plan to install and how you'll arrange it. A single-car garage typically provides enough space for a basic setup, while a two-car garage offers more room for additional equipment and activities.
