Elevation Training Mask 2.0

Now featuring a smaller, lighter, and more comfortable design, the Elevation Training Mask 2.0 is a proven tool for simulating the effects of training in high-altitude environments. By adjusting the mask’s intake valves with the addition of the included air restriction caps, you can quickly customize the intensity setting from a 3,000 foot elevation (4-hole caps) up to 6,000 feet (2-hole caps) and 9,000 feet (1-hole caps). To take it a step further, you can close one intake valve to mimic the feel of a 12K, 15K, or 18K elevation training experience.

  • 1Benefits of Elevation Training

While the Training Mask is a great way to prepare for high altitude sports and climbing, it’s also beneficial to just about any type of athlete from any discipline. Training with the mask can:

    - Condition the lungs by creating pulmonary resistance
    - Strengthen the diaphragm
    - Increase surface area and elasticity in alveoli
    - Increase lung capacity
    - Increase anaerobic thresholds
    - Decrease workout time

  • 2Science Behind the Mask

Years of research and development went into perfecting the Elevation Training Mask 2.0, including clinical tests by the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and studies by the American Council on Exercise. The central scientific principle is "Diaphragm Resistance Technology.” This effectively means that the mask promotes increased lung capacity by forcing you to inhale fuller deeper breaths as you train. When your body adapts to the resistance, your lungs begin to transport oxygen more efficiently. Long term result: improved lung and diaphragm strength and increased stamina.

  • 3Comfortable Construction

The new Elevation Training Mask 2.0 is available in three sizes and features a more streamlined, comfortable silicone construction that covers only the nose and mouth and doesn’t affect visibility. A new neoprene strap overlays the air-tight silicone piece for a stable but comfortable hold. For easy cleaning after use, add a bottle of Elevation Mask Cleaning Spray to your order (NOT machine washable).

  • 4Part of a Full Endurance Arsenal

Much like the 5.11 Rogue Tactical Vest, the Elevation Training Mask is a game-changing accessory that simply amplifies your normal training routine. There aren’t special “Training Mask Exercises” you need to learn. However, there ARE important safety precautions. Most notably, using the mask can require some adjustment / acclamation time. Beginners should start on the 3K ft. elevation setting and spend several minutes with basic deep breathing and walking before moving on to other exercises.

  • 5Comes With Everything You Need

Your order ships with everything you need to get started with the Training Mask, including the full six-piece set of removable Air Resistance Caps. The arrangement of these caps enables you to customize the “Activated Resistance Level” at 3x, 6x, 9x, 12x, 15x, or 18x. The full kit features:

    - 6 Air Resistance Caps
    - 3 Base Pieces with flux valve plungers
    - 1 Silicone Training Mask
    - 1 Neoprene Sleeve
    - 1 Brochure / Instructional booklet
    - 1 Certificate of Authenticity

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound like Vader, look like Bane I purchased this a few weeks ago for a few reasons. 1) I'll be SCUBA diving and want to improve my aerobic qualities. 2) I want to climb extreme peaks, living in Denver helps, but it's not like a high mountain. 3) I had pneunomia last year and just want to improve my overall cardio health. Living at 5280, I decided to start at the 12,000ft elevation level and gradually move to 15k and 18k during the workouts. My god, will this thing make you sweat and seriously cut down your workout time. The science of the elevation is a bit of a misnomer, the partial pressure you work out at will be the same, but with the adjustable nozzles you can strain your cardio system to probably a realistic level at said altitude. Definatley use this with a partner or near furniture, if you go too high you will get light headed and will need to sit down. Fits very well, I do reccomend adding the head strap (it's included) just for extra stability, especially if you workout for longer periods of time (30mins or more). Product is great, wish UPS had not delayed my shipping, but all in all, I love this mask. Would like to see a few things: you can get other sleves and nozzles, if Rogue could carry those for customer customization, that would be neat. Also, this mask maxs out at 18,000 feet, would like to see additional nozzles designed to go higher, up to 26,000 feet at least. Take note, if you wear glasses, they wont fit comfortably. Not a design flaw as this is made to really seal around your face. Depending on your eyesight you may not need to worry, or wear your contacts if you must. Or make it easy and use a bike trainer so you dont have to worry about stumbling around with blurred vision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Training! I bought this product maybe last year. Using this product has changed my breathing habits to the point now before I workout (Crossfit) I will strap this on and run 400m just to open my lungs up. Besides that I've used this in other workouts such as Metcons or simply running a mile. During the metcons I'm more worried about controlling my breathing and taking deep long breaths after I get done with the workout you are controlling your breathe better than the beginning. Now when it comes to the mile(s) use... I suck at suck running I'm a big guy so yea... but since I have started using this I can control my breathing much better. This past memorial day when I did the Murph Hero Wod... the mile was much easier cause I was taking deep long breaths and controlling it.... this is from actually wearing this product and then when It came off I had better lung capacity and control. If you wanna try this product I recommend to do so cause you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes me look so cool!!! Bought this and whereas it didn't do anything for my workouts, it makes me look like the most awesome dude in the gym. I might still be obese and weak but at least I look cool and everybody can hear me huff and puff really loud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes you to the next level Makes easy exercises hard and when its off makes hard exercises seem easy. After training with it becomes tougher to get gassed out. I was skeptical at first but rolled the dice and im glad I did. However be prepared for others to murmer and stare, good times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Awesome!! I bought this mask at the end of September, the day I saw it I knew I had to order it. I started at 3000ft and I am now at 9000ft. It really works your lungs and builds your endurance but also improves mental focus because you must pay attention to your breathing. I find it hard to sync my breathing for the first minute or so, but like others said, once your get past the beginning shock of restricted air flow you will see tremendous results. I wish I knew about this product when I ran cross country and track back in high school and for a couple years after, it would have done wonders for my conditioning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dont Train Without One! Really an amazing product, I began to notice a difference immediately after using the mask. Not only does it test you physically but mentally as well. I began training with this in order to decrease my runtime and after about a month I dropped about two minuets off my three mile and that was only at 9000 feet. Overall I am really happy with the product, would recommend it to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality You never realize how thick air is until you take off this mask after an intense cardio sesh. Someone else said it perfectly, if you can get past the initial shock of the mask then you will be just fine, Makes you focus on your breathing during lifts which can be forgotten after a ton of reps

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective but has design flaws This mask will hands down improve your cardio training, which is obviously it's first and foremost purpose. The various intensity settings are great, the materials used are soft and comfortable, and as the previous review mentioned - it is fairly compact which makes it great for various types of training. HOWEVER, I think there are 2 design flaws that I really hope Rogue will look into if they develop another model: 1.) The strap tends to slide down towards the base of your neck which in turn pulls down on the ears. If you're wearing the mask for shorter sessions it doesn't seem to be a big inconvenience but I find it to be an increasing annoyance the longer you wear it, especially after about 45 minutes as I'll wear it for up to 1.5 hour workouts. Personally, I'll be modifying my straps to correct this issue. 2.) The nosepiece is fairly bulky where it seals to the bridge of your nose that the design isn't really compatible with sunglasses. Is this a huge issue, no. But I am disappointed as I had planned to use this for certain outdoor sessions. I have 5 models of Oakley sunglasses and I can't get any of them to fit properly. Again, I will be looking into modifications to make this possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product, would recommend to anyone! I bought this product about 3 months into crossfit and absolutely love it. The product works and works good. I do everything from full WOD's to runs and even occasional jump rope. I was sort of skeptical about how much of a difference it makes but it does make a world of difference. At the end of every workout you can not wait to rip it off and take a full breath of air but worth every second.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING PRODUCT! I started out buying 1.0 about a year ago and loved what i was getting out of it. When I saw 2.0 I instantly knew I had to have it. Boy was I not disappointed. I love 2.0. The big upside to owning it is that unlike 1.0 with 2.0 you can do almost anything with it on. Also it just looks awesome. I completely recommend 2.0 for anyone who is looking to improve their breathing and endurance. I use it everyday.
