Rogue Gymnastics Grips – Gray

With the latest version of Rogue’s Gymnastic Grips, we’ve included textured American leather on both sides to eliminate slippage and a convenient hook-and-loop strap for a custom, comfortable fit. The redesigned grips are gray in color and embossed with the Rogue Barbell Club logo. Choose from one of three sizes using the simple sizing chart below.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They are a game changer Most people wear the grips in the incorrect place. They should be worn between the two knuckles not down in the palm. The grips will foldover in the palm or near the fingers and pull tension around the wrist. Many of our top athlete use them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but the plastic piece is painful These work well, but both are meant for the right hand, which means the plastic piece digs into your left wrist below the thumb, especially if you're wearing them with HSPU or HS walk in your workout. If you wear with it with a wrist band it helps. Strap could be made with a material that is a little less abrasive, too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still exposes calluses in the S size The same problem as another reviewer - I measured my hand and bought a small, seems like the correct size across the palm except the finger holes are way too large, so the grip slips down, leaving my hand exposed in the exact area that I am trying to protect. Seems like its not just the length of the leather that should change with the sizes, but also the finger opening. Or maybe I am missing something and there is a technique to placing hands on the bar to keep the leather grip in the right spot regardless?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not for small hands got these for pullups and t2b to prevent ripping and when i put them on, the holes were way too big and exposed my calluses right away without even attempting to hang on the bar.. i have normal small girl hands and ordered size small. would not recommend.

But the strap that goes on the left hand...well that plastic piece DIGS in the wrist and will leave you permanently scarred. If you made it so that the plastic piece for the left hand strap was on the opposite side...like the right strap is...these would be perfect. Don't know why you haven't done this with all the other complaints about them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They work great!!... BUT I bought these back in February and I love them. They slow down, not totally prevent blisters or tears, so that's great! BUT the wrist straps need to be redone. Maybe use a softer elastic around the wrist. I see I'm not the only one that feels that way. They are better than nothing by far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost the perfect grip These give me the protection I need to prevent tears, first grips that have helped me with tearing. The only problem is that the plastic pieces on the wrist bite into my wrists and cut them up pretty bad. I have been taping my wrists and it helps, so there's room for some improvement but I still love them.

I can do more reps without them, but it's priceless not having to stop bar work because of tears. Ideally, they'd somehow be a smoother fit. Perhaps I need to break them in more, perhaps the thicker material is more durable. I'm still very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but could be improved I have been using V1 for 2.5 years or so and really like them. Just got V2s and find them softer to use from the start compared to V1s. I have found that the wrist strap can sometime be unconfortable and bite into the skin of the wrist. I have now combined my V2s to a wrist strap a solve that problem. Rogue should think about making V3s this way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally something that works I've bought two different types of full gloves. i also bought half gloves. Nothing works as good as these, only minor problem is if you tighten them too much then bar work hurts your wrist. But overall these are the best product I've found.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Essential equipment These are a must for anything involving a lot of hanging bar work. Note that if you have large hands even the largest size will not give you 100% coverage. Also agree with other reviews that found these require some breaking in and can often get slippery if you sweat a lot. Chalking up the grips helps too. I only rarely get a tear since using these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SOOOOOOOO ,uch better than V1 The V1 hurt my fingers, they were stiff, they were not good. And of course Rogue fixed all these issues because they are awesome. I've tried everything for grips and these are my new go-tos. If you have V1 upgrade and get yourself a pair. If you are debating just add these bad boys to the cart. I just regret getting the V1s, the only bad product I've ever gotten from Rogue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hand savers! (tip for breaking in) I liked these much more after they were broken in. Here's a little tip on how I did it which comes from how I use to break in baseball gloves. Tip for breaking in leather gymnastic grips. 1. Fill a tall microwave safe kitchen glass 3/4 full of water and microwave for 2.5 minutes ish. You want the water very hot. (use a hot pad to pull the glass out carefully when done). 2. Roll the grips up like a piece of carpet and push them down into the water (use a wooden spoon). 3. Let the grips soak for 15-30 minutes ish.. 4. Take them out and let them air dry hanging on the side of the sink (should take a day or so). 5. The grips will feel a little stiff initially, rough them up a bit with your hands and they will turn super flexible and completely broken in. This should work for "reviving" old grips as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes some getting used to, but worth it It is hard to get used to wearing these for pullups etc, but I just kept at it, broke them in and now I don't leave to the gym without them. If you have never used these before, just know it will take a break-in period, stick with them, it's worth it. I never rip anymore, and they don't bother me a bit.

They've made it so my callouses don't get too thick and my hands don't rip. I couldn't ask for anything more. Now I can focus on getting the right kind of ripped ;)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too slippery to be useful at all These grips are slippery to the point that they are completely useless on a pull-up bar. I have a habit of tearing my palms on large sets of pull-ups (30-50 reps) and bought these to replace a pair of grips I made from slicing up an old set of leather lifting straps. With the V2s on, immediately upon grabbing the pull-up bar it slips completely into my fingertips, and I can barely eke out a set of 10, all the while feeling like my finger pads are about to rip off because they're supporting my full body weight. I realize that their tackiness could improve with a little sweat and chalk break-in time, but I don't know how that could happen seeing as how completely unusable they are out of the box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for barbell work, horrible for pullups. My primary purpose is purchasing these grips was to protect my hands from tearing while I did pull ups. While they did achieve this, the thickness of the grips posed a serious grip problem. On a standard 1.25in pull up bar these grips made me feel like I was holding onto an extra thick bar and definitely compromised my grip strength. To make matters worse they did not stay in place very well when I jumped up to grab the bar and ended bunching up in my palms. I had to take a few seconds on each set and fix my grip, which added time to my overall score. I will say that I love using them with a 28mm barbell. They feel pretty comfortable and secure when doing oly and deadlifts. I'll also like them on my 0.75in pull up bar at home. But on your standard 1.25in pull up bar they are just no good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eliminates tearing of calluses but sacrificed grip These grips did what they seemed to be created for and eliminated the risk of ripping off any calluses while doing pull ups. My hands felt great after doing a couple of pull up heavy WOD's. The problem was that it was like doing pull ups on a much wider bar. On a 3/4 in. pull up bar I have at home they felt fine. On a 28mm rogue bar they also felt pretty good while doing deadlifts. But on the 1 1/4 pull up bars at my gym, which I think are the standard on Rogue rigs, it payed a serious tole on the grip. They also bunched up a lot when I jumped up and my palms collided with the bar. I had to take a few second and adjust every time I started a new set which added time to my score. Overall they left my hands feeling great, especially with thin bars. But the loss of grip while doing pull ups was not worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Still getting rips after using these and I did shave down my calluses These things will slide on the palm of your hand. It reduces grip strength on the bar. I feel like I'm slipping after every kip. I started getting blisters in my fingers where the slots make contact. I was better off without these. I bought a callus shaver and rasper. Followed the hand care videos on youtube. Hands were nice and smooth. I chalked my hands, put on the grips, chalked the grips, and still got blisters plus less grip stability. I recommend not purchasing these.
