The Rogue Bar 2.0

This is the next generation of the 28.5MM Olympic bar that helped launch the revolution. Now fully machined and assembled at the Rogue factory in Columbus, Ohio, the Rogue Bar 2.0 represents the highest level of precision engineering with a wide range of new features—including stronger 190 PSI steel, durable composite bushings, and CNC-machined groove sleeves with customizable color bands, available here

Like the original flagship Rogue Bar, Version 2.0 still offers convenient dual knurl marks for both Olympic and powerlifting, with a black zinc coated shaft and bright zinc sleeves. The addition of a groove in the sleeve enables athletes and coaches to more easily identify and differentiate bars by changing out the bands. The bar comes standard with Rogue-branded bands, but you can swap them out with any of the additional color options available, or even use any custom, personalized band that matches the dimensions.

The Rogue Bar 2.0 is among the first in our arsenal to use composite bushings—a self-lubricating material often found in hi-tech aerospace equipment and military vehicles. For intense, high-rep training, these bushings dramatically minimize friction to both provide a reliable spin and help extend the shelf life of the bar itself.

The Rogue Bar helped us cement our reputation at the CrossFit Games and beyond, and we believe the Rogue Bar 2.0 is a worthy successor to that mantle.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remove, Clean and Lube the Collars for 2X the Spin In addition to my review, once I watched the Rouge video on their U-tube page and saw how easy it is to remove the sleeves I cleaned the bar and the inside of the bearings with WD40 and lubed with a light oil and they are now have 2X better spin then when they were new. They should have been this way from the start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bar! I bought this bar on Matte Black Friday 2015. The all black finish caught my eye. It really is a beautiful bar. It has performed amazingly this year. It spins really well and has great knurling that is grippy, but doesn't destroy your hands. I will probably pick up another one during MBF 2016.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fragile Finish Bought this bar a month ago to replace the cheap bar I bought for training. Bearings spin beautifully with oly lifts, sleeves had some grime in the channels as if it was loaded with something dirty on it but removable with some effort, and the finish of the black oxide was pristine. After one use, metal on metal with the black oxide deemed not forgiving. My metal cups, black finished as well, is able to scratch off the black oxide finish of the bar exposing the silver undercoating merely by turning the bar to acquire a good grip during a bench press. My cheap bar, black finished as well, acquired some scratches but the finished persisted the abuse. Hit some depression with the first use but I guess in this case rogue products only work well with each other. Cloth between my cups and the bar will have to suffice until I can get a power rack with plastic lined j cups. I do not plan on babying this bar to truly test the endurance/rigidity quality that rogue products are so known for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First impressions I just received my Rogue 2.0. I am 5 months into Starting Strength and of all things I bought to start my garage gym, a quality bar was not one of them. I found a few bars through Craigslist that seemed to work for the time being. Once I started power cleans, I knew it was time to start shopping. As my hands are unbelievably small, I wanted something I could easily wrap my hands around. Scouring forums, this site, and reading reviews, I was torn between the Rogue 2.0, Ohio Bar, and the B&R 2.0. The B&R I believe was a 29mm shaft and I think that is what sealed my decision with the Rogue 2.0. My lifts are all in the mid to high 200's so I know this bar will work for a while until I progress. I have not used the bar yet--so this is only a first impression review. The bar was shipped in an post-apocalyptic proof cylindrical-cardboard housing. The bar was free from blemishes and the collars spin very well. My other two bars do not spin--they only allow me to rotate them with force. The knurl is smooth but catchy, and I can definitely feel the difference when holding onto the bar compared to my other two. I will update once this I am able to get this bar under some good use. In end, buy this bar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality bar! I've owned this bar for ~2 years. The knurling is a bit passive but as soon as you throw some chalk on your hands it sticks to your hands like glue. The whole bar has held up pretty well, but the black zinc has faded to bare steel where I grip the bar for cleans and snatches, therefore causing a bit of surface rust. Just clean the bar with 3 in 1 oil and you should be good. I mainly leave my bar outdoors and it still looks new, except for where it's faded. Overall good bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied Just wow. Very pleased with qualities of this bar. Build quality is excellent, everything is precise (think Swiss watch), feels very solid in your hands, the bar is just beautiful. Rogue branded rubber bands are a nice touch and can be worn on your wrist as well. Whip and spin are great, knurl has been slightly sharper than I was expecting but presents no issue what-so-ever, just needs some getting used to. The sleeves are grooved so when you load the bar it makes a WHUIIIII sound, so forget about your night ninja lifting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality/value I've had my bar for 7 months now and I'm pleased. I have no regrets. I use this for lifting in my garage when I can't get to the box. Quality - excellent. Finish - excellent. Knurling - aggressive - I'm not worried about the bar slipping at all. Loudness upon drop - I expected it to make noise (are there bars that make no noise when they hit the ground? I've yet to see one.) As to the debate about spin - I have no clue. The bar uses bushings versus bearings. So I suppose if you are extremely worried about spin being an issue, then get a bar with bearings. If you ask me, this bar will do whatever you ask.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from V. poor CrossFit bar. Excellent for powerlifting. Quick summary. Brilliant power lifting bar but very very poor as a weightlifting bar (almost zero spin) so for me it makes this bar a bad choice as a general CrossFit bar particularly when compared to competitors bars at the same price point. I recently set up my third box and decided that I'd start with 5 rogue 2.0 bars and 5 bella bars because of Rogue's stellar reputation for quality equipment and the number of great reviews calling the 2.0 a great general CrossFit bar. Incidentally I also bought a Monster Lite rig which is nothing short of spectacular - I can't express just how impressive it is and have not stopped telling people . Between my other two boxes I've owned and used extensively a lot of barbells over the years and tried many brands so I'd like to think that I am a good judge of a barbell. This was the first time that I was trying a Rogue bar. I was expecting to be blown away by this bar and was like a kid at Christmas time when I got to use it for the first time. As far as the bars go my views are: Pros: 1) stunning finish. I really like the look of the bar and having 10 of them on a gun rack looks fantastic (I get goose bumps just thinking about how good this bar looks). 2) nice knurling, seems to hit that sweet spot and avoids being too rough on the hands or too slippy. 3) the quality of production is fantastic and it gives you the feeling that it's been well made and will last a long time (very important as a affiliate owner). I'm really impressed by how good this bar looks. Cons: 1) Spin. It's almost non-existent. This is obviously down to using bushing versus bearings. So for olympic lifting this is a major issue and is therefore a very poor weightlifting bar. 2) Size. I was well aware that it was larger at 28.5mm than a standard weightlifting bar (28mm) but I'm shocked as to how much of a difference that makes. Given the importance of weightlifting in CrossFit (according to beyond the whiteboard's annual review of the Games season) I'm surprised that this is sold as a 'general CrossFit bar'. Other non-Rogue general CrossFit bars I've used have all been 28mm but given the reviews on this bar I decided that I would take the risk. Overal view: This is a great power lifting (squat, deadlift, bench) bar and at this price point I can't think of a better power lifting bar. Genuinely if you're after a power lifting bar this is something else. Unfortunately in my opinion it's a very poor weightlifting bar (snatch, clean & jerk) therefore given olympic lifting's prominence in CrossFit (and comparing it to others bars at this price point) I'm heartbroken by the poor choice that I made by buying them as a general CrossFit bar and will be looking to replace them as soon as possible. As I threw away the original packaging (It's Rogue, I didn't expect to have to send anything back) and have used three of my 10 bars I'm unable to return them otherwise I'd do so immediately.
