The Rogue Bar 2.0

This is the next generation of the 28.5MM Olympic bar that helped launch the revolution. Now fully machined and assembled at the Rogue factory in Columbus, Ohio, the Rogue Bar 2.0 represents the highest level of precision engineering with a wide range of new features—including stronger 190 PSI steel, durable composite bushings, and CNC-machined groove sleeves with customizable color bands, available here

Like the original flagship Rogue Bar, Version 2.0 still offers convenient dual knurl marks for both Olympic and powerlifting, with a black zinc coated shaft and bright zinc sleeves. The addition of a groove in the sleeve enables athletes and coaches to more easily identify and differentiate bars by changing out the bands. The bar comes standard with Rogue-branded bands, but you can swap them out with any of the additional color options available, or even use any custom, personalized band that matches the dimensions.

The Rogue Bar 2.0 is among the first in our arsenal to use composite bushings—a self-lubricating material often found in hi-tech aerospace equipment and military vehicles. For intense, high-rep training, these bushings dramatically minimize friction to both provide a reliable spin and help extend the shelf life of the bar itself.

The Rogue Bar helped us cement our reputation at the CrossFit Games and beyond, and we believe the Rogue Bar 2.0 is a worthy successor to that mantle.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality bar! I've owned this bar for ~2 years. The knurling is a bit passive but as soon as you throw some chalk on your hands it sticks to your hands like glue. The whole bar has held up pretty well, but the black zinc has faded to bare steel where I grip the bar for cleans and snatches, therefore causing a bit of surface rust. Just clean the bar with 3 in 1 oil and you should be good. I mainly leave my bar outdoors and it still looks new, except for where it's faded. Overall good bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied Just wow. Very pleased with qualities of this bar. Build quality is excellent, everything is precise (think Swiss watch), feels very solid in your hands, the bar is just beautiful. Rogue branded rubber bands are a nice touch and can be worn on your wrist as well. Whip and spin are great, knurl has been slightly sharper than I was expecting but presents no issue what-so-ever, just needs some getting used to. The sleeves are grooved so when you load the bar it makes a WHUIIIII sound, so forget about your night ninja lifting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality/value I've had my bar for 7 months now and I'm pleased. I have no regrets. I use this for lifting in my garage when I can't get to the box. Quality - excellent. Finish - excellent. Knurling - aggressive - I'm not worried about the bar slipping at all. Loudness upon drop - I expected it to make noise (are there bars that make no noise when they hit the ground? I've yet to see one.) As to the debate about spin - I have no clue. The bar uses bushings versus bearings. So I suppose if you are extremely worried about spin being an issue, then get a bar with bearings. If you ask me, this bar will do whatever you ask.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from V. poor CrossFit bar. Excellent for powerlifting. Quick summary. Brilliant power lifting bar but very very poor as a weightlifting bar (almost zero spin) so for me it makes this bar a bad choice as a general CrossFit bar particularly when compared to competitors bars at the same price point. I recently set up my third box and decided that I'd start with 5 rogue 2.0 bars and 5 bella bars because of Rogue's stellar reputation for quality equipment and the number of great reviews calling the 2.0 a great general CrossFit bar. Incidentally I also bought a Monster Lite rig which is nothing short of spectacular - I can't express just how impressive it is and have not stopped telling people . Between my other two boxes I've owned and used extensively a lot of barbells over the years and tried many brands so I'd like to think that I am a good judge of a barbell. This was the first time that I was trying a Rogue bar. I was expecting to be blown away by this bar and was like a kid at Christmas time when I got to use it for the first time. As far as the bars go my views are: Pros: 1) stunning finish. I really like the look of the bar and having 10 of them on a gun rack looks fantastic (I get goose bumps just thinking about how good this bar looks). 2) nice knurling, seems to hit that sweet spot and avoids being too rough on the hands or too slippy. 3) the quality of production is fantastic and it gives you the feeling that it's been well made and will last a long time (very important as a affiliate owner). I'm really impressed by how good this bar looks. Cons: 1) Spin. It's almost non-existent. This is obviously down to using bushing versus bearings. So for olympic lifting this is a major issue and is therefore a very poor weightlifting bar. 2) Size. I was well aware that it was larger at 28.5mm than a standard weightlifting bar (28mm) but I'm shocked as to how much of a difference that makes. Given the importance of weightlifting in CrossFit (according to beyond the whiteboard's annual review of the Games season) I'm surprised that this is sold as a 'general CrossFit bar'. Other non-Rogue general CrossFit bars I've used have all been 28mm but given the reviews on this bar I decided that I would take the risk. Overal view: This is a great power lifting (squat, deadlift, bench) bar and at this price point I can't think of a better power lifting bar. Genuinely if you're after a power lifting bar this is something else. Unfortunately in my opinion it's a very poor weightlifting bar (snatch, clean & jerk) therefore given olympic lifting's prominence in CrossFit (and comparing it to others bars at this price point) I'm heartbroken by the poor choice that I made by buying them as a general CrossFit bar and will be looking to replace them as soon as possible. As I threw away the original packaging (It's Rogue, I didn't expect to have to send anything back) and have used three of my 10 bars I'm unable to return them otherwise I'd do so immediately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bar! I bought this bar about two months ago and can say that it was a great decision. The bar is wonderful and the value for the price is unbeatable. I use the Rogue Bar 2.0 for Olympic lifts and it works perfectly. Thanks Rogue for a very nice bar!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Value! The knurling's a little aggressive, but I like it. It makes gripping the bar extremely easy. I CrossFit, so I'm constantly abusing my hands either way. Some reviews have mentioned that it's noisier than the Ohio Bar, I agree with that. I'm not snatching so I can hear a bar land like a feather though, so I've grown to love it. It's got great spin right out of the packaging, good feel, good balance and even without collars the weight's staying put pretty good. Great all around bar for sure. I don't think you can beat the price, especially with a lifetime warranty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loud rattle when dropped I got this bar about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I have two of the cheap bars that was including with a bench branch and a squat rack from local sport good store. You can really see and feel the difference in using the cheap barbells and this barbell. The Rogue 2.0 has a nice spin, the knurling is nice and I like the plan finish. I don't know a lot about barbells but it's pretty good for an affordable but yet durable barbell. I would have given it 5 stars but the only downside about this bar is that it's loud when dropped from overhead. Even with the stall mats I bought for my garage gym isn't enough to reduce the noise. Also, I'm not sure whether it is because of Rogue or how the delivery company handle my bar but the package it came in was slightly bent open and when I removed the bar,it has a lot of marks that I am not able to remove. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and would purchase this bar again and especially from this site.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too loud Good bar, zinc is still holding strong only complaint is it sounds horrible when dropped(with weights onto 3/4 mats) I would definately look at other choices if you care about noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Love Love I have never written a review before, but I thought I should say something about this bar. I bought this a year ago and the knurling is still extremely sharp (that's a good thing) and still spins extremely well. I love this bar and highly recommend it to anybody thinking about buying it. Also it is very cheap for the quality of steel they used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First bar and I would buy it again This is my first bar - I bought this bar in January and I have been using it regularly. A couple things: * The knurling is great. Grips into my thumb for a great hook grip yet doesn't feel like its going to tear like on a power bar when doing high amount of reps. * The spin on the bar feels more fluid on my lifts. I got a 10lb PR on my snatch that I have been stuck on as soon as I started using this bar. I'd like to think it was because I got better, but I can't rule out the bar didn't help. * The sleeves - I wanted the silver ones because after reading reviews I saw the black ones look like $%&* over time. I'm less concerned about aesthetics when it comes to a bar, but I'm not going to purposely get a bar that looks like $%&* after a few months of use. * The finish - The black finish on the shaft looks great after 6 months. You can't see scratches on the silver sleeves. * The machined grooves hold the plates nicely yet if you take care of it, the plates will still slide off and on with ease. You can feel the vibration of the grooves as you slide the plates on/off. * The bar - overall Love the bend on squats and drop this thing all the time. Was doing variations of grace a couple times a week and never thought twice about dropping it 50+ times over a barbell workout and a met con. I would wager I've dropped it at least a 1000 times already and not worried about dropping it 10,000 times more. Go for it, you won't regret it. -AJ

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bar and service I'm pretty impressed with the bar. I've been doing crossfit for 2 years. I've decided to build my own home gym and have ordered many parts from Rogue, including this bar, weights, kettlebells and the rower. I can't say enough about the service and speed of delivery. It all came in 3 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can't go wrong with this bar... My 'Rogue 2.0 Bar' arrived today and I was able to give it a test run. Not surprisingly, I couldn't be more pleased with both the aesthetics and performance. The feel, the finish, the material quality, and the sleeve spin are all first-class. This is my second Rogue barbell, the other being the 'Westside Power Bar'; with these two bars I have the best of both lifting-worlds and every movement covered. Presumably, I will never need another bar. I can't imagine better barbells for these prices and they're made in the USA to boot. Many thanks, Rogue, for offering high-quality, American-made products at affordable prices!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What have you been missing?? I had been using my cheap sporting goods store bar for about 15 years(?) or so... It was the kind with the hex bolts at the end and the cheap chrome plating on the sleeves. The bar was bent slightly from when I used to do fairly heavy squats, which although it's a minor kick to your ego to say you bent your bar, much more than that it's a clear sign of the lack of quality (and more importantly, safety) of the inexpensive bar. It did it's job, I mean on the surface a barbell wouldn't seem to have to do a whole lot right? What really prompted me to begin searching for a new one was the fact that I'd grown tired of the chrome plating flaking all over my gym floor, but as I started looking I quickly began to realize how much disparity there really is between a cheap bar and a good one. I had purchased other products from Rogue before, and had no doubts about their quality. I read a ton of reviews as I always do, and then did more research and read the reviews again. My biggest dilemma was the whole lack-of-center-knurl thing, which now that I know first hand, really isn't even an issue. I can still do back squats just fine, and as others have said you can always tape it up if you feel the need for added grip. Speaking of grip, the knurl on this thing is outstanding. I'd call it just right. It is definitely much more aggressive than my cheap old worn-out bar, but I don't wear gloves and it doesn't tear up my hands - it just helps further the development of your calluses. Seriously, if you're upgrading from a junk bar like me, you will wonder why in the heck you never knew about this bar before or why it took you so long to just get it! The grip is fantastic, the spin is super smooth (I don't do Crossfit or cleans or anything, but bench, squat, bent rows, overhead press and such are all awesome) and the way the sleeves are machined with grooves it actually seems to help keep my (standard iron) plates from sliding much during a movement. It's hard to explain, but the best I can put it is I feel more confident lifting this bar versus my old one. I'm not suggesting this is like a mystical pair of shoes that magically make you jump higher, nor do I believe this bar magically makes you able to lift more weight. That said, I do firmly believe that the construction of this awesome bar is superb. The thing is so straight and true (compared again to my old cheap bar) and the grippy knurl makes me much more confident about my lifts. I highly recommend it! It also looks awesome and I like the whole idea of the bands that fit into the groove on the sleeves. I'm sure hoping this bar lasts me a long, long time. It looks like it ought to. Again, it's very obvious this is high quality product. Ordered on a Monday, had it here in Indianapolis area the next day. Thank you Rogue!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the bar We ordered 2 of these bars and we love them. The knurling on them is fantastic, the spin of the collars is wonderful. My only problem, and this plays into my OCD a little bit is that as soon as I put them in my racks, the black finish towards the collars scuffed and it drove me bananas. Everything else is great, my members love them, they're visually appealing in the gym. I really like the bar, I just wish that black finish was a little bit stronger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! Work horse! Purchased this right after Christmas (2014).... Very nice bar for the price. I went from using a Rogue economy bar to this bar. At first I was not that impressed. A lot of that had to do with the knurling. I am assuming because the knurling on the econ bar is so much more passive than the 2.0. After many many uses, chalk, etc, my hands finally became accustomed to this bar. Once my hands became accustomed to the bar GAME FREAKING ON! Dude!?! What an amazing bar. I recently was performing squat cleans and totally forgot to set up the 2.0. I set myself up on the econ. The minute I pulled myself under bar it was like "Ewww ewww ewww..." So if you are like me and not used to the knurling and purchase the 2.0 give it a little while before you question did you need a 2.0. The answer is undoubtedly YES, YES YOU DO! Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality Ordered on a Sunday, both bar and bumpers arrived the same Friday before noon. Nicely constructed and beautifully finished (black zinc/bright zinc) barbell. I bought this and the 260lb HG 2.0 bumper set mainly for deadlifting, military pressing, and rows in the garage gym when I don't want to drive to the gym, and it suits that purpose fine. The knurling on this is rougher than the barbells at my local gym (Iron Grip), which is a good thing and allowed me to use chalk vs straps. Bar performed great at 320lbs, as heavy as I've loaded it for deadlifts thus far. Given my purposes the lack of center knurling is no hindrance, and the slightly longer than average smooth central section works well for deadlifting. I did try a few sets of lightweight back squats and had no problem, but again the weight was light (135lbs). The only thing that initially concerned me was the composite bushings vs. classic brass in the Ohio Bar, but I did some online research into the topic of composite bushings and learned enough about their engineering properties to be very comfortable with the decision now. Rogue might post a blog entry with some more detail on the topic to help clarify the matter regarding brass vs. composite bushings, but the data is out there for those who look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now a Loyal Customer! This is the 4th bar that I have owned and it is by far the best bar that I have ever worked out with! That's probably due to the fact that it is the first Rogue bar that I have owned! I cannot say enough about the quality of their products or the integrity of their business. I purchased the black on black on a few days after Thanksgiving and found that it had been damaged while in transit. This was not Rogue's fault and I would not have been wronged by them if they had told me to take it up with UPS. However, my granddad use to tell me of a day when companies stuck to their product and their integrity was worth more than a dollar sign! Rogue Fitness is that company! They put a new bar in the mail and allowed me to send my old one back in the box free of shipping. Thank you Rogue for providing American jobs, offering exceptional customer service and for manufacturing a product that is built to last!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Price can't be beat for the quality. I purchased this bar for home use. Being a nurse working 12.5 hour shifts 3 days a week, I am forced to train at home on work days. This bar is a dream. With a little chalk, the knurl is violently grippy. The bushings spin well enough for anything CrossFit or weightlifting related. The ability to customize the bar with the removable bands is an added plus. It would be cool to see an affiliate outfitted with bars with their brand on them. I highly recommend this bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Bar I have owned and worked with quite a few bars over the years so I was skeptical about another all around bar. When rogue went all black zinc I decided to pick one up and I couldn't be happier. This bar is awesome. Looks great, knurl is perfect, and the spin is the best I've seen. While spinning an empty sleeve, this bar has better spin than any other bushing bar I've used, including Pendlay HD, Ohio Bar, and the Rogue 1.0. I was worried that the composite bushings would hurt the spin, and I was dead wrong. These composite bushings spin better than any bar I've used and are much quieter when dropped. I compared to several other bars and the rogue 2.0 is by far the quietest. This bar is awesome. I would not hesitate to buy another.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Decent Bar Never used a decent bar before, only the ones supplied at your typical box gym. The amount of weight that you can lift doing cleans drastically increases. No pain on the wrists with the decent spin on the collars. Wish I knew about spin and whip 18 years ago when I started lifting. 4 stars only because there are better bars out there with needle bearings but they tend to cost quite a bit more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bar for CrossFit I've used the rogue oly bar, the chan bar, the eleiko bar and this one is the best for metcons and high volume training. The spin is amazing comparable to the oly bars. The nurling is just right. Not as aggressive as the oly bars. This is great because if you do lots of volume throughout the week your hands won't get destroyed. If you want a multi purpose bar. Get this bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fist bar and I LOVE IT This is the first bar I have bought so the only thing I can compare it to is the bars I have used in gobo gyms, and this kills them all. You can tell that the quality is top notch and it looks killer:) the knurling is just right and goes all the way to the end of the bar so you can grab wide for those snatches. I also like that there is no center knurling , however that is personal preference.I have been using it for my garage crossfit workouts for the last 4 months and have nothing bad to say about it. Price was on point... Go buy one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black on Black I received mr Rogue 2.0 Black on Black bar 2 weeks ago now. It was worth the wait. PR'd right out the box. This bar is awesome. Looks even better. Another amazing product from Rogue. Only negative thing I can say about it is this. I recieved in amazing time but the packaging was missing an end cap. I pulled it out and and the bar end was fairly scratched up. Knurling was fine. I sent pics to Rogue they assured me the scratches didn't ruin the performance of the bar. They were right. Rogue customer service is spot on, because of the damage they hooked me up w/ a G card. You have to love these guys all about customer satisfaction. All I can say is keep up the good work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Someone's Been Good This Year I got my bar a couple of days ago. I purchased it on slight sale with free shipping during Rogue's matte Friday sale. I opened it today to inspect and it looks awesome. It's black on black and the quality is evident. This is the first real bar I bought for my garage gym and I can't wait to start using it. Alas, my wife is making me wait until Christmas before I can, but at least I feel like an excited kid again waiting in anticipation for the big day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete Satisfaction This is a highest quality bar I've experienced at this price - ever. Quality in terms of bar performance from the overall feel when lifting, the smooth bushings, and knurl. The black zinc finish on this bar is the nicest I've ever seen. Solid dark black. The kind of purchase that makes me feel fortunate to own it. Being able to add a wristband to customize makes the smile on my face even bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rogue is the zenith of exercise equipment I'm not a paid spokesperson for Rogue… although I wouldn't it mind it if I were hahaha but in all seriousness, I'm in love with my equipment. The Rogue 2.0 bar is so silky smooth that I thought the Zohan had manufactured the bushings… craftsmanship is second to none and I've lifted with many a different bars in my lifetime(I'm only 32).. the bumper plates are sleek and well constructed despite their Chinese origin, must be the Rogue logo that enhances their utility hehe ...they weren't oily/greasy and the clamps/collars are rock solid… all in all, a great investment I'd recommend to anyone and everyone looking for professional grade equipment… thank you Rogue… as Snoop Dogg would say, "that bizzle is the shizzle for rizzle"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bar by Rogue for the money I got this bar a little over three weeks ago and have been using it six days out of the week. Ive used the bar for oly lifting along with other powerlifting movements. This bar has the perfect amount of aggressiveness on the knurling to transfer from oly lifting to powerlifts and acts as a great bar for crossfit movements. I have used Pendlay for the past two years, and would say that this bar rivals the pendlay bar. I highly advise this bar to any crossfitter who is looking for their first bar or fifth bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Bar Purchased the Rogue Bar 2.0 earlier this month. I bought it for my garage that i use 2-3 times a week when i can't get to the gym. I've been using Eleiko bars for a number of years and the knurl and spin on the Rogue Bar feel very similar in my novice opinion. I'm in the early stages of starting my on Crossfit gym and there will be alot of Rogue Bars purchased. Great price, great product. Thanks Rogue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Knurling is fantastic! Great bar, the knurling is the best and with chalk even better, it's like fine grit sandpaper. It was a hard choice between the Chan bar and the Rogue 2.0. I was worried about the bar slipping during back squats due to not having a center knurl on the Rogue 2.0 but I didn't want the larger spacing between the knurling on the Chan bar. So I basically chose what feature was most important to me and the Rogue 2.0 won. Having the option to add a center knurl would be ideal on this bar, maybe Rogue will offer this in the future. Overall its a solid purchase and I am very happy with this bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bar, well worth it I was wary of this bar with with no center knurling as I do the basic barbell strength movements. I don't miss the center knurling on the squats at all, and this bar is great for the bench, press, deadlift, you name it. High quality, well made and shipped fast. Been using it for 3 months now and I love it .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rogue Bar 2.0 Best bar I have ever used. The knurl gives you a nice grip, but doesn't rip your hands to shreds. The spin is smooth and really you can't beat the price for what your getting! I use this bar outdoors and it has held up just fine. A good bar is a must

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Solid I have one of these at home, and our school gym has about 8 of these, so I've spent the last year or so beating the cra* out of these bars, and I still can't find any flaws with them. Very comfortable knurling, good spin, and extremely durable. Best general-purpose bar around, accept no substitute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bar review- Rogue bar 2.0 I had the opportunity to use the Rogue 2.0 bar at my affiliate (CrossFit 920) today. Here are some direct comparisons between it and the Rogue Ohio Bar 1.2 (which I own)... 1. The knurling is the same roughness. Blindfold me and I would have thought I was handling another Ohio 1.2 black zinc bar. Thus, I do not have to talk about this further. 2. The spin was similar to the Ohio 1.2, very smooth but not too fast. 3. This bar is slightly nosier than the Ohio 1.2. This is likely due to slightly looser tolerances and the composite bushing vs the brass bushing in the Ohio 1.2. This was tested via a drop test. It makes a sharper, more metallic clank than the Ohio 1.2 does when dropped with bumpers. 4. The Rogue bands and grooves make the bar look awesome. 5. Otherwise, this thing is essentially the same bar as the Ohio bar 1.2. Here is my view on what bar to buy, if you are looking for a multipurpose from Rogue in the $250-$300 range... If you want a silent bar, get a Rogue Ohio bar If you want a different coating besides black/bright zinc, get the Ohio bar If you like the brass bushing look, get the Ohio bar. The Rogue Bar 2.0 will do for most everyone else looking for a multipurpose who does not care about the above attributes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great barbell Ive been using this bar for about 3 months now, so i though it would be time for a good review. When i received the bar i was impressed with the feel of it, it has great spin, great finish, the knurling could be a tiny bit more aggressive. Its a little longer ( 1.5~ in) than my ivanko obx 20kg which I really like. I use it primarily for benching and OHP. The bar has a pretty strong whip. It starts flexing substantially when loaded with 365lbs+. Ive have many bars in my collection and to be honest this is a great bar overall. I wish it had center knurling so I can squat with it. Definitely would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from overall awesome First bar ever purchased on my own. Love it and so does my training partner. use it at my home gym for H.C, H.C->Jerk, snatches, B. Squats, F. Squats, Romanian DL. and bought the eco bumpers which fit perfect on the bar. Love it thanks Rogue!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bar. Spin is not so good. Got this bar from the 2013 Crossfit Games. It probably never got used (you can see the chalk marks on all the used ones, and my bar was spotless). I use it in my crossfit box and share it with all the members so it gets tons of use. It's a great bar for most general uses. I like the look, feel, and knurling. One downside is the spin. If I spin them as hard as I can, it only spins for 1-2 revolutions on its own. Even the old Rogue Beater bars we have at the gym have better spin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality First olympic bar I've owned- solid construction. Feels much better than the bars at the local gym. I workout with bare hands and even with sweat I still have solid grip on the bar. Been using it almost everyday for almost 6 months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Bar for lifting I love my Rogue bar. Only issue I have had is the knurl is wearing down on the bar from when I rack it on the squat rack. Knurl is not too aggressive and is just right. The spin is ok. I have had it for almost a year and will last for many more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes a Beating I bought my Rogue Bar over a year ago, and I only have iron plates so I was concerned about doing oly lifts. I have dropped the bar from overhead (I try not to, but it happens) and the bar is still straight as an arrow, and the collars are still solid. I have thrown everything at this bar and it still holds true. I would by this bar over and over again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get this bar! As a previous Rogue hater I can say that this bar was all I needed to be converted to a Rogue addict. QUALITY. Period. In everything they produce themselves. You will NOT find a better bar...trust me, I've looked at and tried them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bar Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a good bar -- this bar to be exact. You get what you pay for and I have found this bar to be extremely reliable and tough. The knurling pattern is great for every type of lift. Additionally, the bar spins smoothly even with heavy weight. I love the black on silver coloring of this bar, and has yet to show signs of any fading after half a year of heavy use. All-in-all, I will probably buy another one of these when the time is right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best investment I've made I bought this bar back in August. I was torn between the Rogue Bar and the Ohio bar. I talked to a customer service rep and he asked me what I'd be using the bar for and he told me that this bar would be better suited for my needs. I absolutely love the Rogue Bar. The spin on it is amazing and the quality is amazing (of course).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The moment you know it is worth it. Knurl is fine, not rough. Spin is good. The first clean. Never used a bushing barbell until I got the Rogue Bar and after slapping some 45s on and doing a clean, I was blown away. Definitely worth the money over a cheap barbell. A pair of HG collars don't hurt either. Coming back for another barbell purchase when I can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the quality, and especially the knurling. So after shopping around all over craigslist and numerous training equipment websites, i used a Rogue Bar for the first time at my buddy's garage gym so i instantly knew what bar i wanted... And i am looking forward to this bar serving me for years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good design, seemingly rushed construction I've had this bar for a month or two now and it's a very nice bar. It spins more freely than the bars I was used to at my gym. My only gripe is that the zinc coating on the smooth center is not exactly smooth. It feels like the coating was added to a dirty bar as there are little spots covering the center of the bar. If it was a bare steel bar this could be easily sanded down, but because it is zinc coated I have to live with it. This may not be a common problem as I didn't read of anyone having this problem with the bar, or maybe I'm just particularly finicky. I would recommend this bar to a friend, but I would advice them to first check out some of the competing bars and see how the workmanship compares and if possible buy a bar they can first touch and feel to make sure it's what they are expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, great bar, but think about the Blackjack bearing bar too. I've had this bar for 5 months now and I LOVE it. It was such an upgrade from the beater bars at my old box. I started working with an Oly coach and he has high end bearing bars. I switch between my Rogue Bar at home and the bearing bars now every week. I'm not knocking the Rogue Bar in the least, but I'm saying that if you can consider a bearing bar like the Blackjack you might want to think about it. I want both now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bar, and even better Customer Service Using the Rogue Bar at my box has spoiled me: There's no way I was going to buy anything else. When I got the package, there was damage to the packaging, and sure enough, a mark on the bar. I emailed the team at rogue, and not four hours later they've gotten back to me and offered to replace it. And on a Friday night, nothing less. You can't beat service like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect all-around bar I've had my Rogue Bar over 2 years and it holds up to abuse like a champ. Despite being in a garage (in humid South Carolina) for all of that time, it hasn't broken down at all. We use it for squats, presses, oly, etc. several times a week. Same story with our 15kg Bella Bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm ruined for other bars now I bought this on the recommendation of multiple folks on Rip's forum, even though I figured there couldn't be too much difference between this and the standard cheap bars I'd encountered at multiple gyms. Oh, how wrong I was. I would have paid twice the cost for something of this impressive quality. The knurling, the spin, the fit with the bumpers - everything that folks have said in previous reviews is true, and more directly, what they said is *important.* It makes a difference that these things are so much better. I can feel it when I lift. I cannot imagine going back to cheap bars after being exposed to this. Thanks and kudos for creating such a great piece of work, guys.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality versatile bar I love rogue as a company and have been pleased with their craftsmanship thus far. I use my bar mainly for Olympic lifts at home but sometimes it gets work as a bench/squat bar as well. The bar performs wonderfully and is very durable. Only reason I didn't give five stars was because my bar arrived with cosmetic damage that appears to be in the machining process not shipping. It has a medium depth scratch wrapping spirally down the length of the bar, my guess would be from a loose or misaligned tooling on the lathe process. Customer service offered to replace and was very easy to deal with, but at that point I was not willing to deal with the hassle and just put it to use immediately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality This bar is top of the line as to be expected from Rogue. Holds up great, feels solid, and looks beautiful. The knurl as almost all the other reviews state is purely awesome. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great performance Bar has great performance/ feel. Had slight issue with some of the black zinc finish coming off after approx 6 months of hard use (this was during cleaning w/ WD-40) however performance and feel seem uneffected. A note the bar is in a garage gym in CT w/ frequent changes in humidity which Im sure is not easy on the finish. All in all for the price great bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bar! To echo a lot of the other reviews, I have only had experience with globo gym bars and the hand-me-down bar that my dad got me 15 years ago. Getting this Rogue bar was so different than those other bars. Much easier to grip and just has a better feel. The best part is that all my new bumper plates fit perfectly, where as only about half fit on my other bar. I'm absolutely loving this bar so far and can't wait to use it more. Thanks Rogue!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite Amazing! I never realized there was a difference in a bar until getting this bar! It's so smooth! The knurling feels great and it's well balanced. After picking up my bar and picking up another bar in the gym... totally different! Highly recommend the investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I have used many bars throughout the years and I can't express enough how great this one is. The knurl is unlike any I've ever felt before and creates a very strong grip without being sharp at all. I researched bars for a few months before purchasing and I decided on this one even though it was a little outside what I wanted to spend. Definitely worth it. You may be thinking that you can get away with a 100-200 dollar bar for now, but I would highly advise against it. Those will undoubtedly bend, causing serious problems with heavy cleans/snatches/deadlifts and the sleeves will begin to rotate less as well. If you're on the fence, spend a little more to get this one and I promise you will enjoy for the rest of your life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product exceeded expectation This bar truly shows the skills of the Rogue craftsman who engineered and materialized the bar. There is no doubt in my mind I will ever need a replacement from the lifetime guarantee. The knurling in the bar is sharp, but it is not like some olympic lifting bars that feel like a cheese grater when lifting. Buy with confidence !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great equipment I'm not a Crossfitter, I've always lifted w Globo gym equipment and cheap stuff at home. When I opened this package at home, I was amazed. The quality of construction, spin, fit of the Pendlay Bumpers I also got was out of this world. It's going to take some getting used to lifting with a right diameter(smaller) bar than I'm used to, but this is one quality piece. Don't hesitate, get one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Bar Great all around bar for Crossfit. You can definitely notice a difference on this bar vs. some other cheaper/economy bushing type bars. Knurling is just right for grip w/o tearing your hands up. Bar diameter is also good and my grip feels solid with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shocked by the difference a good bar makes Been lifting for 21 years but only doing snatches, cleans and crossfitting for about 3 years. Until now, I always used the typical bolt on OLY bar and 310lb weight set. When the bolts froze in place, I started looking on the crossfit forum which led me to check out a rogue bar. Almost bought the beater bar, but was glad I called Rogue and was told to get the Rogue Bar. It was well worth the $274 which was more than my entire weight set w/ the other bar. the collars rotate so smoothly and quietly it's almost like an illusion. I ended up adding some bumper plates a few weeks later. During a recent workout, I had my Rogue bar loaded up for snatches and my old bar loaded up to thrusters. Just cleaning the thruster barbell up really emphasized how much smoother the rogue bar works. I wish I would have found crossfit, bought the Rogue bar and some bumpers about 20years ago! I also have a rogue pullup bar (the hanging rom the straps kind) and some rogue rings. The pullup bar is excellent. The rings are good too, but a little pitted from rust after 2 years in my garage. I really like supporting a local, made in the USA business like rogue. The equipment is high quality and the service excellent. I don't mind paying a bit more for this. And a lifetime warranty - who offers that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love I have a pair of Rogue Bars and a York Oly bar for my garage gym. I love my York bar, but it hasn't gotten much use since receiving my Rogue Bars. The knurling is very aggressive and takes a few days to get used to if you haven't had good, aggressive bars to use. The bar holds chalk well, but I haven't had to use as much because the knurling is so grippy as it is. You can't beat the Rogue Bar for the price, its my new favorite bar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice...but Okay… I like this bar. It does everything I ask of it. It seems to be very well constructed. I absolutely love the warranty and the fact that Rogue seems to stand behind its products. In fact, that is what persuaded me to buy this bar over the B & R bar. However, I have to say that after lifting weights for 3 to 5 days a week for the last 30 years I prefer a steel finish. It's hard to explain… It just seems like the rogue bar is sort of shiny and "painted." I know it is probably a much more sophisticated coating than I have described. But it does NOT feel like a steel bar. I work out in my home gym one or two days a week (with my new Rogue bar). I work out in my regular gym another one or two days a week. My regular gym has all Ivanko products. It would have been extra money, but if I had to do it over again I probably would've purchased an Ivanko Olympic bar. Or the B&R bar (didn't purchase that one because everyone was squawking about maintenance and rust and I live near the ocean).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great bar but zinc plating is chipping Have had this bar a couple of months and have been meaning to write my review. Love the feel of the bar and it functions great. Best feel and performance of any bar I've owned. Only problem is that the zinc plating on the sleeves started chipping on the very first day, just from putting plates and spring collars on and off. This bar has never been dropped, abused or even set directly on the ground without plates on it. I use the Rogue HG bumper plates and standard spring collars. At first I thought it might have been a protective film or something that came on the sleeves, but soon saw that it was the zinc plating on the sleeves bubbling up and then chipping off when plates came on and off. Now I have pieces of zinc plating all over my garage floor, and small bits of rust forming on my sleeves. Anyone else have this problem? Want to give the bar a higher rating, but can't b/c of the lack of durability of the zinc coating. Maybe I just got a lemon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I upgraded to this bar a year and a half ago after starting crossfit with an el cheapo bar from Sports Authority. The difference is night and day. This bar feels solid, still looks as good after a year and a half of use as it did on day one, and it spins very nicely. I can't o-lift enough weight to really appreciate the flex, but as an average crossfitter who is far from an elite weightlifter, I can't imagine ever outgrowing the capabilities of this bar.
