Rogue Monster Rhino Belt Squat - Stand Alone
New Patent-Pending System for Lower Body Training

The freestanding version of the Rogue Monster Rhino Belt Squat (patent pending) requires no separate rack/rig for set-up, as the system includes a pair of 53.925” steel legs for mounting and two angled 3x3” front feet for platform stability. This compact unit can be set up in garage gyms, low-ceiling home gyms, or full-scale facilities, offering athletes the ability to get many of the lower body training benefits of squats and other workouts without putting unnecessary stress on the shoulders or lower back. The entire Rhino unit (aside from the platform, handles and weight posts) is finished in our Medium Gloss Black powdercoat.

Set-Up: The Monster Rhino Belt Squat ships freight, some assembly required, and it must be bolted to the floor before use. A pair of Monster 1” Wrenches are included, however additional tools will be required to finish assembly. When complete, the trolley tower will reach a height of 78.5" from the floor. The freestanding / stand-alone version has a total footprint of  , and extends approx. 21.5" off the legs. Please Note: Additional clearance (beyond 21.5") is required for adding plates.

Using the Rhino Belt Squat: Step onto the platform and strap on the Rogue Multi Belt around your hips. Upon standing up, the trolley will rise and disengage from the Rhino Horn. This allows users to then pull back on the handles and start squatting. Once the handles are pulled back, they will stay back until the user pushes the handles back towards the tower, allowing the horn to safely re-engage the trolley.

Benefits of Belt Squats: Performing belt squats rather than traditional back squats / front squats / Zercher squats can be beneficial for a wide range of reasons. Athletes dealing with regular back pain or struggling with spinal compression from axial loading can circumvent those issues by putting the lion’s share of the load on the hips and legs. Similarly, anyone rehabbing from an upper body injury (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, etc.) can still get in their lower body work without having to worry about supporting a barbell.

Belt Squats provide traction to the spine, help add substantial volume to the legs, and offer versatility for other types of training, from calf raises to rows, shrugs, and deadlifts—all easily performed even in a home gym with limited space. A pair of welded-on Band Pegs are included with the system for additional resistance work.

Loadable Weight Trolley

Our innovative weight trolley design (patent pending) features two stainless steel, horizontal weight posts with 15.75" of loading capacity on each side. A set of (4) machined Acetal rollers, each containing (2) bearings, ensure the trolley moves smoothly up and down the rail. Laser-cut Rogue branding is featured on each side, and the tower includes a Rhino sticker on each side, as well.

SQUAT PLATFORM

The platform of the Monster Rhino Belt Squat is made from 0.125" thick diamond tread plate and is finished in our Signature Texture Black powdercoat to provide advanced durability and a non-slip surface. The tread plate sits on top of a 1" x 3" steel frame and attaches to 3x3" front feet for additional stability and rigidity. The platform dimensions are 26" deep x 48.5" wide. When the unit is installed, the top of the platform sits 7" above the ground.

RHINO HORN

This is a 1" thick UHMW plastic horn, sandwiched between steel plates, that holds the trolley when not in use. The Rhino Horn is adjustable up and down so that the "racked" or resting height of the trolley can be accommodated to specific users heights.

ADJUSTABLE HANDLES

The handles on the Rhino are 1.25" in diameter and can be adjusted up or down for the user’s comfort. They are very similar to the handles found on our Rogue Monster Lever Arms and allow for both overhand and neutral grip positions. The inside of the channel on the handles features a protective UHMW plastic cover.

EXCLUSIVE SQUAT BELT

Each Rhino unit includes a custom designed Rogue Multi Belt, made in the USA. This exclusive squat belt offers six adjustable size settings (from 41” to 61”), built-in padding for reduced hip friction, and a spacer mesh interior for breathability. It was developed from an original design brought to us by Brian Henesey of OverAchieve Sports and Speed.

MOUNTING LEGS

Since this version of the Rhino stands on its own, we’ve included a set of 53.925" tall legs that serve the same purpose as the uprights on a rack would. Two angled front feet (3x3”) that help ensure the stability for the platform.

Not much left to say!
The Rogue Rhino has already been reviewed countless times online, and honestly, most of what could be said has been said already. There are endless YouTube videos, Reddit threads, and Instagram posts showing its versatility. If you want inspiration or programming ideas, Pro Tim on Instagram is the gold standard — the things he has discovered with the Rhino are unbelievable. Even so, after owning it and using it extensively, I can say with complete confidence: it’s one of the best pieces of equipment you can buy for long-term training, joint health, and squat variation. The arms dont fall back like old reviews suggest and once in place they stay. Training Uses Between the Rhino and the Monster Lite Functional Trainer, my setup is now as complete as I could ever want it. I use the Rhino primarily for: Squat variations Single-leg work (amazing for this) Weighted push-ups using a dip attachment (Matador / ML dip) mounted where the Rhino’s horn usually sits And that’s before even getting into the usual belt squat options or the hundreds of creative uses other people have demonstrated. Learning to Belt Squat I’ll be honest: the first time you belt squat on a Rhino, it feels strange. If you try to use the same cues as a barbell squat, you’ll probably feel off-balance and look a bit disconnected between upper and lower body. That’s normal. Belts squats aren’t meant to replicate a barbell squat exactly — different line of pull, different loading path, no axial load, and a more upright torso angle. I take grip out of it and bearly touch the handles . Pulling on them makes the whole movement look and feel awkward. Go lite woth the hands and heavy with the legs Once I actually learned belt squat technique rather than forcing barbell squat cues, it clicked. The most helpful resource I found was the JuggernautAI belt squat technique breakdown on YouTube. That immediately fixed the awkwardness. The biggest technical points: Stand far enough forward so the cable runs straight through your midline Don’t stand too far back, or the cable will angle and feel unnatural Lifting shoes help even if you normally squat barefoot and allow for forward knee travel Treat heavy belt squats more like a low-bar squat pattern Treat hypertrophy belt squats like an upright, quad-biased pattern Once you work those out, the Rhino becomes incredibly intuitive. Hypertrophy Squats = Game Changer For high-rep work, the Rhino is on another level. Upright stance, long ROM, and zero axial load means you can do: Myo-reps 1–2 second pauses in the hole Extended sets Tempo variations …all without destroying your back or compressing your spine. Finishing leg sessions with 1–2 high-intensity hypertrophy sets on the Rhino is phenomenal. Accessories & Variations You can attach a Spud Inc Front Squat Harness to do front squats on the Rhino. That turns it into more of an axial-loading tool, but still a great variation. And that same harness lets you do weighted push-ups using the dip arm in place of the Rhino horn — an extremely underrated use. I didn’t love the Rhino for RDLs. A barbell just feels better for that pattern. That said, I’ve only tried it once, so I may just not be used to it yet. I will experiment in the future but you do need a partner to unrack for you as you will be holding the bar, unless you start from the bottom. Future Potential With how good the current design is, I genuinely hope Rogue continue to expand it beyond low rows. There’s huge potential here. With the tower, rails, carriage, and leverage options available, it feels like a platform they could easily evolve into: A pendulum squat A hack squat variation Other lever-based machines It feels like Rogue are quietly working on something — the foundation is already there. C"mon!! For someone like me who may not always be able to barbell squat long-term, the Rhino effectively future-proofs my squatting. And even now that I am able to barbell squat again, the Rhino lets me: Add volume without axial fatigue Use completely different movement patterns Do posterior chain or quad-biased work safely Load single-leg variations heavily It complements barbell training perfectly. Build Quality As expected from Rogue: Frame is rock solid Carriage is smooth Trolley system is robust (it will be slack when racked and thats normal, during assembly dont try and take slackness out when its at rest ) Cable path is clean Footprint is efficient My only nitpick? It would be nice if the tower had something a bit more than a sticker at the top — maybe a plate, logo badge, or metal emblem. But that’s cosmetic. Functionally, it’s flawless. Also, the shipping was a killer here in Europe. It was the price of some machines alone. Just beware so its bot a shock. Final Verdict The Rhino is simply amazing. It does exactly what it’s designed to do, opens up countless movement options, and feels like something I’ll be able to use for decades. For hypertrophy, joint longevity, and variation, it may be the most valuable equipment Rogue make. I recommend it without hesitation.

Rhino belt squat is so smooth
I tried one before I bought for my home gym. The Rhino belt squat is the best belt squat I’ve tried . That being said I’ve never tried the Winning. The Rhino is super smooth and you don’t have to load any more weight on this machine than you normally would squat.

Excellent equipment for any gym!
Love this piece of equipment! Makes squatting easier without the taxation on my back and shoulders. I have thicker thighs so getting use to the belt was interesting. Once I figured out what loops to attached the cable to, everything was a breeze. Not only do I squat but I even deadlift, Split squat, Bulgarian split squat, sumo deadlift, Bulgarian deadlift, march in place. There is more that can be done than just squat. My set up is in my basement so getting it inside piece by piece was fun. Needed help with the back post with the trolley. Took about 2.5 hours to assemble. Can with stand a tornado!! Sorry if this review doesn’t make sense, writing it while pre workout is kicking in lol

Amazing piece of kit
Received this for Christmas - about 5 months in and I’m still in the honeymoon phase. Doing belt squats feels amazing - trolley is super smooth and the belt it comes with is very comfortable. I don’t miss bar squats at all. Picked up the Mulit-use Roller - combine that with a pair of Monster Safety Arms, and you got yourself a leg extension machine + more. Hoping Rogue releases the low row extension they include with the rack model. !

Best belt squat available
I tried out several belt squats before buying a Rhino. They all felt puny and wobbly or had a bad range of motion. Not the Rhino. This is an awesome piece of equipment. It's very robust and can hold all the weight you'd need. The range of motion is unmatched. The sled is extremely smooth. I'm 6'3 and it provides plenty of options to adjust to my height. I immediately swapped out the provided carabiner as it is annoying you undo after every set. I would love to see Rogue come out with some attachments for this like a bolt on seat for seated belt squats or lunges or perhaps a bench that allows the option to do seal rows. Getting my welder out now haha
