Abmat Handstand Ramp

The AbMat Handstand Ramp offers gym owners a safer alternative to wood boxes and other less-than-forgiving handstand walk obstacles. Made in the USA, this innovative design features two distinct sections—a set of stairs and a ramp—which are joined together by 3” of Velcro®. The full unit can be set up in less than a minute and is lightweight enough to be moved and stored easily between workouts.

The AbMat team had already been developing a foam handstand ramp design, but were further inspired by the story of competitive CrossFitter Josh Mattes, who suffered serious facial injuries while training on a wooden handstand walk obstacle in 2023. Josh agreed to work with AbMat to share his story, raise awareness about these risks, and to help promote the advantages of a safer style of handstand ramp.

AbMat’s ramp is equipped with a dual-density foam core and a ripstop vinyl exterior with a non-skid top surface. This produces a combination of reliable stability, comfort, and grip, allowing the athlete to focus on their form and balance without worrying about unnecessary risk factors.
