AML-2 Adjustable Monolift 2.0 - Monster Lite

Compatible with any Monster Lite Series power rack or rig,* the AML-2 Rogue Adjustable Monolift gives athletes a way to comfortably unrack and rerack heavy weight without having to worry about walking the bar out during squats or avoiding J-cups while benching. With Version 2.0, we’ve upgraded the strength of the attachment and re-engineered the center of mass around the handle, removing unnecessary weight and enabling easier, one-hand adjustments. A new stainless steel key can also lock the Monolift’s jaws in place, further simplifying adjustments and allowing the hooks to be utilized as traditional J-cups.

Important: The Monolift ships unassembled. A list of required tools for set-up is included below. [For owners of a Monster rig/rack, Rogue also offers a Monster version of the Monolift 2.0., sold separately.]

A cost-effective alternative to expensive, full-scale monolift units, the AML-2 Adjustable Monolift mounts to your rack’s uprights via a pair of 1/4” steel brackets (MG Black finish) and 5/8” detent pins. The 1.25" wide jaw sections feature a Texture Red finish and are placed in recessed hook plastic, with an extended 8” of vertical space for re-racking (2” more than the previous model). A set of 3/8” thick steel counterweights (Texture Black finish) provide the necessary torque so that—when you lift the bar off the Monolift—the hooks will swing back approximately 5.5” toward the rack and stay there. This clears up enough extra space to go straight into your workout, and also enables safe re-racking, as the slanted angle of the unloaded hooks makes it easy to guide the bar in, overriding the counterweights and moving the Monolift back into its original position.

Height adjustments can be made in increments as small as 2”, and with Rogue’s unique design—featuring a “backstop” bolt above each primary hook bolt—the Monolift cannot move further away from the rack while the user is setting up. This feature is not found on most comparable attachments on the market.

Tools Needed For Assembly:

  • 7/32" Hex Key (Included)
  • 5/16" Hex Key (Included)
  • 9/16" Socket/Wrench
  • 3/4" Socket/Wrench

*Please Note: While the AML-2 can be safe for solo use, it’s always recommended to have spotters available for heavier lifts. Rogue also highly recommends mounting the Monolift to a rack or rig that’s securely fastened to the floor and/or wall.

KEY FEATURES OF THE ROGUE ADJUSTABLE MONOLIFT 2.0

A Better Way to Unrack and Re-Rack Heavyweight

A Better Way to Unrack and Re-Rack Heavyweight

The rack-mounted Adjustable Monolift 2.0 is compatible with any Rogue Monster Lite Series rack or rig, giving athletes a new means of performing heavy-weight squats and other lifts without having to walk the bar out or worry about dodging J-cups. The system, which has been tested at a capacity of 1,000+ LBS, includes (2) steel mounting brackets in MG Black (with laser-cut Rogue branding), (2) 1.25" wide plastic-lined J-Hooks in Texture Red, (2) steel counterweights in Texture Black, (2) 5/8” detent pins, and a set of 3/8” stopper bolts. The hooks are designed to swing back 5.5” when the weight is removed, clearing up space to lift. The athlete can then guide the bar back into the jaws, overriding the counterweights and returning the Monolift to its beginning position.

Easier Adjustments
2

Easier Adjustments

Height changes can be made in as little as 2” increments (using the included detent pins), and Version 2.0 of the Rogue Monolift has made it much easier to make these adjustments. Each side of the Monolift now weighs just 25.5 LBS (down from 28.5 LBS), and a grip-friendly design on the bracket allows for more comfortable maneuverability. The jaws also now sit about 10” below the rack attachment point (several inches closer than Version 1.0), creating more options for positioning the Monolift.

Quality Rogue Construction - Made in the USA
3

Quality Rogue Construction - Made in the USA

Each AML-2 unit is manufactured in the USA using quality 0.25” and 0.375” steel (with laser-cut Rogue branding in the brackets) and UHMW plastic. The resting J-Hook is protected by 8 vertical inches of plastic, providing the user ample space for reracking compared to the original model, which offers about 6” of vertical plastic. Plastic linings in the bracket and along the entire inside channel—combined with button heads along the inside face of both Monolift segments—help protect the user from sharp edges and bolt threads while also preventing any damage to your rack’s uprights during adjustments.

Please Note: The Monolift ships unassembled, and the following tools will be required for set-up:

  • 7/32" Hex Key (Included)
  • 5/16" Hex Key (Included)
  • 9/16" Socket/Wrench
  • 3/4" Socket/Wrench
Space Efficiency

Space Efficiency

In resting position, the Monolift 2.0 extends just 16.75” from the mounting face of the rack to the end of the counterweight. This is a reduction of about 6” compared to the previous model, creating substantial, additional clearance for small training spaces. The swing distance--meaning the distance the hook moves out of the way once the bar has been unracked--has also been improved from about 5” to 5.5”. This extra half inch can be significant in helping to prevent any interference between the Monolift and the user during their lifts.

Stainless Steel Locking Key
5

Stainless Steel Locking Key

A stainless steel locking key with a snake knotted tether is also included with the AML-2. This allows the user to lock the J-Hook in place for a more convenient adjustment or for the purposes of using the Monolift as a traditional J-Cup. The locking key is simply inserted through the rectangular opening in the bracket and J-Hook while the J-Hook is in the resting position. There is a rectangular opening towards the back of the bracket designed to hold the key when it is not in use. The key’s connected tether should also ensure it won’t be misplaced.

Monolifts arrived without assembly hardware
After a month of waiting, Rogue sent me an incomplete package. I’m missing everything EXCEPT the Monolift Bracket, J-Hook and a pair of Detent Pins. I don't understand how such a dumb mistake happen. They even have a QA checklist included in the package but still end up with this situation. Furthemore, it took them over twice the advertised lead time to ship the package. I had to follow up twice and now this. This experience has been very frustrating.

Excited to use but it came with blemishes
Bought this for my rogue RML-490c power rack, wanted to finish it off with this attachment, just recieved them in the mail less than an hour ago and realized the Monos were chipped/scratched down to bare metal, the shipping box was completely in tact with no damage to it… I’m a rogue guy through and through and have items that were money well spent whether through my account or through guest, bothered that for the price point they arrived in this condition
Scratch down to bare metal
Scratch down to bare metal on the other mono piece

Must-have when working out without a spotter
I enjoy these as I use them for bench pressing and squats. Must-have when working out without a spotter. Minimizes walking back while squatting. They get out of your way nicely during bench and incline press lifts. The bar contact area is surfaced with ABS so it won't dull your knurling on your barbell.

AML-2 Adjustable MoNolift
I purchased this in May of 2023 and I have been using this piece of equipment every time the opportunity presents itself. Very happy with my purchase. It works exceptionally well for squats, bench, incline bench and military press / Bradford press. Definitely recommend this for your workouts.

Great purchase
I bench Equipped by myselft quite a bit. I purchased the Monolift hoping to solve my heavy bench re-rack issues. By having the rack more over my chest it is easier to un-rack (obviously) but the biggest issue/help was re-racking when complete. While it is still not easy I can get it done alone and safely now. I wish there were more height adjustments available, & it would be nice if the J Hooks could also move down (or even) & back rather than up & back - that would really help with the Heavy Single re-racks. Great purchase, the next best thing to having a spotter.

Just as functional as the 1.0 version but compact
Love it. Easier to adjust between heights than the previous version. People mentioned that the cups don’t move back far enough for squats, but it’s a non-issue for me. My wife and I use it for squats, incline, flat, decline bench and sometimes for deadlifts. Great product. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market.

Perfect addition to my rack
These provide improved bench press motion versus J-cups. The ability to lift straight up/down has eliminated shoulder pain and improved confidence when lifting alone. I suggest magnetizing the key lock to reduce the chances of coming loose. Superior Rogue quality and functionality justify my purchase. Installed on The Monster Lite Cave.

Not Great for Bench Press
I agree with a lot of the negative reviews posted so far. I bought these for bench press to help with heavy unracks but the spacing on the holes is so far apart that I can't find a good position where these would actually work better than J-Cups. I also had the same issue where screwing in the bolts tightly ends up making it so the design doesn't swing properly. Product is already assembled (only used once), so not sure if Rogue would accept a return. I love Rogue products overall but this was a miss for me.
