The Rogue 28MM Training Bar is designed, machined, and assembled at the Rogue factory in Columbus, Ohio using the same steel shaft and uniform knurl pattern as our Olympic WL Bar. In place of the Oly Bar’s bearing sleeves, however, the Training Bar is assembled with bronze bushings in the style of the Rogue Ohio Bar. The result is a more cost-efficient, intermediate bar for athletes who still want the look and feel of a competition-ready Olympic barbell.

The Rogue 28MM Training Bar is designed, machined, and assembled at the Rogue factory in Columbus, Ohio using the same steel shaft and uniform knurl pattern as our Olympic WL Bar. In place of the Oly Bar’s bearing sleeves, however, the Training Bar is assembled with bronze bushings in the style of the Rogue Ohio Bar. The result is a more cost-efficient, intermediate bar for athletes who still want the look and feel of a competition-ready Olympic barbell.
The quality U.S. steel used in the 28MM Training Bar meets a minimum tensile strength of 215,000 PSI, and each shaft is individually tested for straightness to within 0.015” (0.38MM). The bar is available in your choice of a blue or black Cerakote color finish. This unique polymer-ceramic composite coating was first popularized in the gun industry for its durability in thin applications, and offers superior corrosion resistance over the life of your bar. As a complement to the Cerakote shaft, the sleeves feature our new Proprietary Matte Black finish, which is achieved through a process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it, improving the sleeves’ long-term performance and color endurance.

*Please Note: The optional Proprietary Matte Black metal treatment process also hardens the steel, which can cause some additional friction with plates that have a chamfer. Cerakote has an excellent resistance to corrosion, but metal-to-metal contact, particular on the sleeves, can still cause wear over time. Struttura Rogue di qualità
Designed, machined, and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the 28MM Training Bar is built to IWF specifications and Rogue’s own high standard, with a shaft tensile strength of 215,000 PSI. Each bar is machined and assembled from quality U.S. & EU steel and individually tested for straightness to within 0.015” (0.38MM). The shaft is ground and polished prior to machining for a smooth finish, and the knurling is carefully refined for a firm but non-abrasive grip. The use of reliable bronze bushings help produce a consistent “whip” needed for Oly training.
Cerakote Strength + Custom Colors
This bar is now available in a custom Cerakote color finish. Cerakote is an advanced ceramic-based coating, originally established in the gun industry for its remarkable durability in thin applications. This unique finish can deliver superb abrasion/wear/corrosion resistance over time, and it’s available here in your choice of black or blue, with the Rogue logo across the center of the shaft. The sleeves, in all versions, feature our new Proprietary Matte Black finish; an advanced treatment that also delivers excellent corrosion resistance and helps prolong the vibrancy of the color over time.
F SCALE™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead.
