Schwinn Airdyne Pro

With more than 100 years of experience manufacturing quality bikes, Schwinn has reinvented its legendary Airdyne to deliver more powerful performance, including greater challenge and customized intensity. As innovators in air resistance technology, Schwinn equips its new Airdyne Pro with a robust, 26-blade performance fan and a single-stage belt drive that uniquely leverages your effort to generate resistance. That means your power puts you in charge of your intensity, all the time. Pedal harder for greater resistance and slow down for recovery.

This iconic bike meets the needs of beginning or rehabbing exercisers to elite athletes. Tackle new high-intensity interval training with low-impact, total-body workouts that inspire maximum effort and results. An oversized, cushioned seat features biomechanically correct positioning for proper knee placement, and the universal rail and clamp system let you swap in your own seat. MultiGrip handlebars add comfort, and you can isolate the upper body using stationary anti-slip foot pegs. Track your progress with the motivating tachometer, along with RPM, heart rate, distance, watts and calories. This durable workhorse is built to take a beating for years, with a double-coated steel body and moisture-repellent frame.

Inherent Superiority

The Schwinn Airdyne Pro features an innovative, 26-blade performance fan and single-stage belt drive that responds instantly to your power and ensures that energy is not wasted for the most efficient, effective workouts. Other fan bikes with two-chain systems lose energy in the transfer process, and simply can’t keep up.

More Watt Power

With its custom-designed fan, the Airdyne Pro helps you produce more watt power compared to other fan bikes at the same RPM. With a Class ‘A’ Watts rating, the Airdyne Pro measurement is +/- 5 watts when under 50 RPM, which is highly accurate, for greater motivation and results.

Solid Construction

The long-lasting performance of the Airdyne bike is a testament to its solid, heavy-duty construction. Built to take a beating with a double-coated steel body, the Airdyne Pro bike has a moisture-repellent frame to endure the toughest sweat sessions, year after year. For the ultimate stability, the frame platform is equipped with structural support and four contact levelers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The New BIG DOG in Wind Bikes Let me just preface this with saying I have I have used both, and floored both at length. I have not met one person when they are used side by side, or even from my own experience, that would take an Assault over the AD Pro. The AD Pro has them beat. Yeah it's $200 more but believe me it isn't for nothing. The AD pro has a higher Force Curve because the blades on the wheel are catching more drag -- Look at the size of their blades. It has bearings at critical points, reinforced tubing and cranks, and is belt-driven so no metal on metal contact. I used to be all about the Assault, I have even taken it on the news etc. I will tell you hands down the AD Pro is better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow - Love My New Airdyne Pro Just finished my first workout for time on my brand new Airdyne Pro. Figured 10 minutes would be a good start. I am in good shape but it absolutely kicked my butt. The pumping of my legs was one thing but when combined with the push & pull of the arms, thereby engaging chest, back, and lats, I was thrashed. I burned approximately 187 calories. Amazing. The bike is solid and is made out of quality materials. Assembly was simple. She runs smoothly. Very low impact on the body. It does get a little windy in a cool garage. I will probably have to buy the air diverter for winter rides (no heating in my garage). Overall, thrilled with the purchase. Can't wait to incorporate the Airdyne into a regular cardio routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lung burner i bought this unit about 3 weeks ago after checking out the Assault bike as well as the Xebex air bike. I must say this unit is built better then the other two bikes. i found the Assault bikes handles loosened up after a couple work outs and could use some lock tight and the Xebex seemed marginally better. The Schwinn pros arms are solid as well they have multiple grip positions where the other two bikes do not. The Schwin Pro is a belt drive compared to the other units which are chain drive, making this unit quiter and more fluid and responsive when you initiate a workout. The chain drive on the other two bikes are noisy and seem like they is some play prior to the bike engaging when you initiate a workout. The seat is comfortable on the Schwinn pro and not so much for the other two bikes especially for longer death rides. The monitor is solid and has some preset intervals as well as a custom option allowing you to make up your own lung destroying workouts, and has a HR monitor display that requires an after market monitor to function. The fan wheel is loud on this unit but you'll forget all about the noise and come to appreciate the cool air blowing through your hair just prior to passing out after doing a 20/10 interval for 8 minutes. To the person who said this bike is not crossfit worthy must be getting paid by the competitors because this bike, aka The Devil's tricycle, will destroy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Three workouts so far... I can't vouch for durability as I've only just started using it this week. However as someone that does a mixture of weight training, running, concept 2 and Watt biking. I can vouch for this as an excellent workout product. You can tick over at around 55 rpm for the longer traditional cardio session (20-40 mins) or go all out and be gasping like a fish in 20-30 seconds. The calories reported by the machine seem accurate when compared to my running calculations, the C2 and the watt bike. So if the assault bike is drastically different as mentioned in another review then it's likely that it's that product that is misreporting. The fan is the only noise this makes as the belt is drive is soundless compared to the old airdyne chain drives. Console is good and very clear however I would have preferred more mechanical buttons on the interface. Small thing but would have been nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its great depending on what you're looking for This bike is super comfy to ride on, the seat is nice and padded, its quiet, sturdy and well built, it has a cup holder- if you need a basic exercise bike this is a great choice... but if your looking for a crossfit bike however this isnt it. Its not comparable to an assault bike, for calorie based workouts the scale is conservatively 2.5:1 and the resistance is much less. In summary I wouldnt buy it for my gym, but my mom would love it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Awesome! This Airdyne is incredible! Very smooth and much quieter then earlier Airdyne models. The large fan gives incredible resistance. Many think the Airdyne is for Physical Therapy recovery but not this one!! This Airdyne Pro model will leave you gasping for air and your heart racing. I highly recommend it!!! Also assembly was easy. A heads up, the cup holder is removable!! It's not mentioned in the manual and removing it makes putting in the 2 screws that mount the computer much easier. Rogue fitness had this shipped out and delivered faster then I expected. Highly recommend the Airdyne and Rogue Fitness for your fitness products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performer I purchased this bike from Rogue in early January. Shipping was fast and free. I've been using this bike, multiple times a week, since and am very pleased with it's performance. I am 6'3" and 230 pounds and this bike has handled the task without any signs of surrender. The bike is comfortable and operates smoothly. The computer has many workout options and is easy to use. My wife uses the bike as well and has been very happy with it also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not my Grandma's Airdyne! Jumped on this offer for the new Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro from Rogue because of the free shipping and competitive price. Pros: -I like the multiple hand positions the arms on the AD Pro allow. -Robust computer workout options include time, calories, rpm, watts, distance and speed. -Fast and free shipping! Arrived from main UPS freight within three days. -My Polar chest strap signal got picked up immediately with no programming necessary. -Seems built well. I tightened down the quick adjust knobs and the seat and post don't wobble. I am 6'3" and 220# and had room to raise the seat even higher. Cons: -Made in China. But so is the competitor fanbike. -Curbside delivery only. So Rogue ships it fast (three days for me) to the UPS distribution center and then I had to wait for the local curbside delivery. Lucky I have a short driveway. Most people on here will just drag the pallet where they need it. But for older folks or anyone with a bad back, get some roustabouts to help.
