The Ohio-based designer of the Mutt Bar started with a simple concept—to create a single implement that an athlete could use for the widest possible range of weight training exercises. As effective as a lightweight barbell could be, it posed serious limitations in grip options. So the solution was a compact, cast-iron bar armed with multiple built-in handles. Using precision manufacturing techniques carried over from years of experience in the foundry tooling industry, the design was refined and perfected, creating a bar that works like a two-handed dumbbell with multi-grip functionality. No plates, no collars, and no accessories required.

The Mutt Bar not only incorporates the most common weightlifting grip positions into one unit (including wide and neutral options) but also features an ergonomic, angled design to promote better posture with reduced injury risk. A simple re-positioning of the hands can mean quickly switching from hammer and tricep curls to bench and military presses, then on to upright rows and front lateral raises—all with the same bar. Note: The handles measure a standard 28MM except with the 22LB, 33LB, 44LB, 55LB, 66LB bar, which measures 1” in diameter.

All elements of the Mutt Bar are truly Made in the USA. The concept, design, and tooling were crafted by American pattern-makers; the single piece iron bars are cast by American foundry-men; and the optional bolt-together Mutt Rack storage unit is a single piece steel fabrication by American welders. All bars and racks are powder coated medium gloss black in color with a smooth texture finish. The handle spacing and dimensions of each bar are consistent across all five available weight increments, as the center piece and outer cylinders get larger to achieve the desired weight.
