We combine a 205,000 PSI tensile strength, low flexion shaft, IPF powerlifting knurl marks and our signature Ohio Power Bar knurling. The knurling is machined in a pattern that is deep and coarse, providing an ideal surface for heavy pulls without being sharp or abrasive. Additionally, it features a matching center knurl that adheres to your back when you need it most.
As a tribute to Hafthor Bjornsson’s decade-long reign as Iceland’s Strongest Man, the black cerakote shaft in this design features the Icelandic flag to the right of the center knurl and the nickname THOR in white to the left. Cerakote is a unique polymer-ceramic composite coating—popularized in the gun industry for its durability in thin applications. Our new low-profile sleeve design makes loading and unloading plates easier than ever. The precision-machined sleeve is then treated with our proprietary matte black process, significantly enhancing its resistance to corrosion and impact. This treatment ensures that the sleeves retain their appearance for a much longer duration compared to traditional sleeve finishes.

RUST RESISTANCE
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
BARBELL DURABILITY
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. F SCALE™ APPLICATION
How a barbell is used will affect its durable lifespan and it's a key factor in determining what type of F Rating™ might be suitable for your gym's needs. This graph correlates the F Rating™ of a barbell with different types of usage in order to predict the durable lifespan. Using this data, we are able to make recommendations on what F Rating™ is appropriate for different training situations. With a rating of F8-R, the Ohio Power Bar is rated to outlast a lifetime of lifting (50+ years) in a powerlifting facility or home gym.

The versatility of this polymer-ceramic composite coating has enabled new, custom athlete designs like the THOR EDITION Ohio Power Bar, which includes mountainous strongman Hafthor Bjornsson’s nickname and the blue, red & white of his native Icelandic flag on the cerakote shaft. Each bar also now comes with our proprietary matte black sleeves, which are finished through a process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This greatly increases the sleeves’ long-term corrosion resistance and color endurance.

The THOR Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel.
AGGRESSIVE KNURL
The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.
