Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Rack I can't say enough good things about this rack. It's built like a tank. I'm so glad I bought this over the welded version of the R-3 because of the 6 extra inches of interior depth and for the ability to physically add to the rack's footprint later down the road. I bolted this boy down to 3 total layers of 3/4" material with 3/8 2.5" lag screws. It has virtually no sway in any direction. My suggestion is to put the rack together without tightening down all the bolts, then mount it to your surface fully tightened through the feet, then load a weighted barbell into the rack and tighten down all the remaining bolts on the rack. Keep in mind you will need a 15/16" socket to bolt the 3/8" screws. I love the westside hole spacing. I'm a shorter guy who is seemingly always in between the holes on uprights when setting up in an optimal bench position. The pin and pipe system is what it is. It's not ideal, and it can be annoying lining it up without numbers, but it gets the job done. I'll be upgrading soon to some custom swing-in safeties or some other solution like the straps or even spotter arms. You will no be disappointed in this rack. 30" interior depth is PLENTY of room to do everything you need to. Have fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I placed my order about 10 days ago. It got held up at the UPS facility for a few days but was delivered first thing this morning. I had already assembled the platform so I was ready to get this rack put together. Assembly and bolting it down took just over an hour. Incredibly simple. It's solid and doesn't rock at all. I'm 6'3" and 230 pounds and there's no sway when I tested out the pull-up bar. Everything arrived in excellent condition. All I really need now is a weight tree to get the weights off the platform. To top it all off, this thing just looks sexy. Throw in the excellent customer service from Rogue and I have zero complaints. I will be back when I add additional equipment in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Rack, Superb Customer Service.. I purchased the 30" deep model of this rack a little more than a year ago. It has functioned flawlessly and is extremely stable. I have only had 450 pounds racked in the squat position, but I wouldn't feel uncomfortable to rack about 700 in it. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed the powder coating was coming off of one of the uprights. After a phone call to Rogue, I took a couple pictures and emailed them. About 5 days later I had a brand new upright. I took the old one off and installed the new one in less than 30 mini tea, boxed the old one up in the box the new one came in and emailed rogue that it was ready to go back. They set up UPS to pick it up within 24 hours and it costed me nothing. Very well worth the investment and I would not hesitate to make the purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rack The first thing I noticed when I unboxed this rack was that it was heavier than I expected--a good thing for a rack. Assembly was straight forward and I completed it in less than 2 hours with only a couple wrenches. I did add the multigrip crossmember and moved the included pullup bar to the back to act as a stabilizer. It really does need to be bolted down, even with the additional crossmember. I built a plywood platform and bolted it to that and it's very solid. At 235lbs I can do pullups and it barely moves. You really can't overemphasize the importance of the hole spacing, especially in the bench area. In other racks it's always a pain to get it adjusted just right and it seems I'm always hitting the safety bar or it's too low to act as a real safety. Having used this rack with the close spacing i will never buy another rack without it. Of course, I doubt I'll ever need another rack with this thing. One minor complaint. The bases of the vertical supports (the ones you bolt down to the floor) are not all the same. The measurements are slightly different so it's important to match them up when assembling. The instructions make no mention of this (maybe it's a production error?) and the differences were small enough I didn't notice. After I bolted it down, though, I realized the bases were not in line exactly. I went back and measured and saw the differences. It's a purely cosmetic issue and doesn't impact the rack in any way, but being OCD a bit seeing the mismatch bothers me. Maybe one day I'll take it apart and reorient the bases so they all match. Or maybe not. Either way, overall an excellent rack I would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything Expected This thing is so over built it is incredible. My Wife and I are familiar with these from our box so when I sold our old squat rack and was looking at a rouge s-2 she said just get the one you really want. I got R-3 the bolt together because I have low ceilings in my garage and wanted to lower the pull-up bar a couple of holes. I was not disappointed. Easy assembly. Everything fit perfect. Great quality control there at Rouge. I surprised my wife with a Bella Bar. I have never seen her so excited about getting new equipment. She felt very comfortable with it "because it was just like at the gym." Don't forget to add anchors to your order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent R-3 Option Ordered the 30" bolt-together option for the R-3. Shipping was crazy fast, and the separate boxes made unloading a breeze. Put the rack together yesterday with the help of my son. Installation was much easier than anticipated. I'm looking forward to my first workout tomorrow night. The concrete wedge bolts (sold by Rogue) make bolting the rack to the floor a breeze. One quick note. The 5/8 " bolts take a 15/16" wrench and/or socket.
