Great Rack but possibly another optionThis is a solid and wonderful rack. Very stable, easy to put together and small footprint for the gym. I only wish I knew one thing ahead of it. I am 6'2" and the height of the pull-up bar is a just barely high enough. The Froning version of this adds 10 inches so if you have the room get that. So I am already likely in need of the extension for the uprights to make it work better. Unfortunate as I will spend more in total. Plus I have a set of Safety Pins I won't use. To hard to really use and adjust quickly so I will buy the straps that come standard with the froning rack. And it isn't easy enough to just swap out for a different model. But if these are not a concern you will not do wrong with the purchase of this rack.

Awesome!Quality product all around. The investment has been well worth cancelling my gym membership - no more gym commute, no crowds, no sweaty benches, and now I workout whenever I want. I've used it a few weeks; planned to wait longer prior to reviewing but don't see any issues down the road.
Stablizer: I don't know if it is required because I've never gone without it. It doesn't get in the way of my AB-2 bench when benching but it is tight - the bench slides right up against it. It only gets in the way with seated military press - I have to use the outside of the front uprights instead of inside the rack. Can also see it getting in the way of the rear pull up bar but the front bar is still available. Rack moves minimally when trying to shake it or using the matador; suggest using the matador with the handles facing parallel between two uprights, not outside the rack.
West side hole spacing and numbers missing from the holes is annoying. If I had to do it again I might consider the Monster version. Decided against it when I bought because the numbers and hole spacing combined with the higher cost of accessories weren't worth the extra $500. Plan to use a silver sharpie to mark my positions as I get to know the rack better.
I deadlift inside the rack and there is only half an inch clearance between the two bottom crossmembers and my barbell. Not a problem so far, I haven't had the barbell touch but something to consider if you're going to be dropping barbells from heights inside the rack.
Recommend adding a second set of Jcups and the safety strap upgrade.

Room for ImprovementFirst off, this has been a good rack after five months of use.
- The paint is nice and vivid with minimal defects. Good even coating all around.
- The j-cups with the UHMW are great quality and protect the bar nicely.
- Ordered custom length uprights.
- The crossmembers end plates are nice and thick
- Quality of the safety straps and ability to swap out for the standard pin/pipe safety
- Ease of changing heights of the safeties and j-cups
The not so good:
- The uprights themselves cave in locally around the bolts as I torqued them down. This happened with the supplied washers as well. I tightened everything down by hand with a ratchet and I don't think used unreasonable force as I am used to working on mechanical things. I also noticed the washers weren't uniform thickness and the thinner ones may have contributed to the holes with more local depression(I'm a mechanical engineer)
- The stabilizer will get in the way if you would like to use a bench inside the rack for bench press. I found this out the hard way and decided to mount the stabilizer a little over half way up on the uprights. It is meant to be installed at the very bottom of the upright, so this was the next best option.
Overall, the rack is of good quality. I didn't notice the local caving-in of the uprights until mostly assembled. A recommended torque spec. of the bolts would have come in handy. An increased hardness or higher class of washer may have also helped with this. If I had to purchase another rack, I would purchase a flat foot rack to avoid the issue with the stabilizer in the way for bench pressing.

Awesome RackDefinitely the best rack I have owned. The design and fabrication is flawless. You get what you pay for. I don't recommend buying the stabilizer bar as it's not needed.

Yippie!!!Luv my new rig! So awesome and fits perfectly in my living room. I was one of those that dreaded going to the gym. But now, everyday at home is a workout vacation. Very sturdy when doing my pull-ups. Just have to say thanks to my boyfriend for the awesome gift!

Love my rackI have had my RML-490 set up in my garage for a week now and it has been a week of pure bliss! This bad boy is solid, and the functionality is just what I needed. One thing I have noticed however is that there is no place for plate storage that does not affect one lift or another, whether it is plates hitting on bench or being in the way of safeties and J-cups. But I did not have room for a larger rack and I will just get some rogue channel for my plate storage one day. Another thing is that I bought the stabilizer bar and really wish I didn't waste my money. First of all, it is completely in the way of a bench if you want to work inside the rack, and secondly, I have found that it is completely unnecessary on my setup. I have my rack sitting on stall mats, not bolted down, without the stabilizer, and it doesn't move at all no matter what I do, even did some butterflies on it with no wobble. I wish I had known this would be the case and I would have used that money for a matador or the channel storage. All in all I am extremely pleased with this along with the rest of my rogue order, which arrived promptly and unscathed, minus one rogue sticker being a little wonky on an upright.

Excellent rack with one small issue. This rack is incredible. It's super sturdy and will probably last me the rest of my life. I have one small complaint... the safety bars. They seem to be good once put into place, but mounting them is a major pain in the rear. They are basically mounted by a giant pin that has to go through the front and back holes of the rack. This is a pain to do when working out solo. It got to the point where I just left them off and ordered straps instead. Aside from this tiny issue, I would highly recommend this rack.

Great rack, poorly designed safety arms. This product would survive a nuclear holocaust. However, the safety arms are poorly designed. They are annoying to move from spot to spot because someone obviously didnt spend anytime thinking how terrible it would be during a work out to move them. I am probably going to ordering the belt style safety arms and I hope they are much less annoying to work with.
