The Vise

It can be very difficult to properly tighten a weight belt, and a weight belt that is not tight enough will not give proper support. It can even be dangerous, giving a false sense of security.

Developed by strength coach Dinky Williams, The Vise is a simple tool for getting the maximum support out of your weightlifting belt. Just slide the device over the belt strap and use it to provide additional leverage when tightening. It’s faster and easier than just using your hands, and you can regularly get a tighter, more protective fit in the process. It can also help when removing the belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you don't have this, buy it now! I have wasted so much energy before a lift tightening up my belt or trying to have my wife yank on it to get it one notch tighter before a PR attempt. With the Vise I can now place my belt in those very same notches with no effort and in seconds! This is a critical piece of equipment!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More convenient than you might think I bought "The Vise" at the end of 2013, and am very happy I did. Lifting on my own, I found trying to gain enough leverage on the support post in my garage, while having your knees choked by knee wraps, along with trying to tighten my belt with squat briefs on made doing so a real chore, and often times, I really did not get a tight enough fit. There may not be a whole lot to this device, but it sure makes putting on your belt nice and secure not a lot of trouble. Now, I can quickly pop myself up from the bench, pull my briefs up tight, and easily secure my belt, which helps with the heavier weight. I waited before I pulled the trigger on this, but that doesn't mean you should. No partner to pull your belt tight? No problem.
