The Rogue S-4 2.0 sets a new standard for independent squat stands, combining the strength and stability of two 7-gauge steel H-bases with the efficiency of a new bolt-together, triangle-plate design. Each unit includes a pair of 72" Infinity uprights with hole spacing in the Westside pattern through the bench zone—so users can specifically set up the included J-cups at 1” increments.

Indy squat racks are often preferred by Olympic lifters for their small footprint and low profile design. True to form, the new S-4 Stand takes up very little room on a platform (each base has just a 26"x22" footprint) and can easily be moved by one person.

As another new edition with Version 2.0, the bases of the S-4 are now equipped with rubber feet to protect flooring and improve the unit’s overall stability. In the testing phase, the S-4 easily took on 500LB squats and 300+LB jerks with no issues.

Here’s how August Schmidt, a decorated weightlifting coach and CrossFit competitor, summed up the S-4: "Rock solid, which is unusual for indys. They are the most stable indy stands I've ever seen."

Sturdy, high quality
I 100% don't regret buying this squat stand As other reviewers have said, it's very sturdy. It's a huge upgrade from the light, cheap, flimsy stands I had before. The downside to this sturdiness is the sheer weight of each stand, which makes them harder to move than the lighter stands I used to use, and that cancels out some of the benefit. Why this stand is awesome: --Truly a space saving and very cost efficient choice. --the independent stands allow flexibility in where you position them and how much space you have between uprights. I can, for example, move them close together to rack my curl bar, or I can move them to the wall if I'm using the platform for lifts from the floor. --You *can* put Infinity spotter arms on these for that critical safety net when benching by yourself. The danger is that the stand can tip over, of course, but I've tested them up to 350 lbs at the ENDS of the arms before that happens--they hold even more as you move in toward the uprights. --I'm a huge fan of the Westside spacing on the uprights. It allows you to get the J cups and spotters at just the right spot when benching. Considerations before you buy: --Obviously, there's no built-in pull up bar, so that is just something to account for if you're trying to build up your home gym on a budget. --As I said above, the stands are very heavy, so they're not especially easy to move around (and the reason to get indies is so you can move them around). I wish there were casters on the bases to help move them. I'd install some, but there are no holes on the base.

2x3 FrankenSTAND
I chose this setup because I needed something compact for my limited space (approx. 10x10 with 7' ceilings), and it made the most sense at the time. After assembling it, I added several stabilizing components, so while it was already sturdy, it's now extremely solid. Due to the added parts, it's quite heavy and not easy to move, so the mobility of it is not really on the table any longer. This is double edge sword, but I do not need to bolt it down either. These mods allow me to use spotter arms without worrying about tipping. It’s works well for my needs, but for the same cost, others may want to explore different options depending on their space and preferences. Hope this helps anyone considering the 2x3 uprights in 2025!

Solid choice
These things have been perfect so far. Works great in my space. I have a small, low ceiling basement and I’m able to setup, workout and breakdown to regain space. The stands are solid and don’t wobble at all. I’m glad I went with Rogue instead of another brand that has something similar. The triangle gusset plates were the big difference for me, plus the lifetime warranty. If you need squat stands instead of a rack, these are the choice. I think these can last a lifetime.

Not good for use with spotter arms.
The base does not give enough support for use of the Monster light safety spotter arms. If one places a barbel with more than 150 Lb close to the end of the spotter arm (e.g., for Romanian deadlifts), the momentum tends to tip the stand over. Thus, I have to place plates on the oposite legs of the stand. Plus, the holes in the stands are not marked, which makes pin insertion a pain.

Excellent space saver
Perfect for squat and bench press. I stack them on a furniture dolly and stow them in the corner of my single car garage. Can set up and store in minutes.
