The Ballistic Trainer’s 3X Support™ system is particularly innovative, delivering adaptable stability across all dynamic movements. The idea is simple: rather than having just one arch in your foot, you actually have three arches (the medial longitudinal, lateral longitudinal, and anterior transverse arch). And whether you’re sprinting, rucking, or weightlifting, you need support under all three of those arches to not only improve performance, but to help prevent common issues like plantar fasciitis and knee strain. The Ballistic Trainer offers this 3-tier support, as well as a scientifically selected 8mm heel-to-toe drop—a versatile happy medium that creates the best biomechanical advantage when lifting heavy loads (squat, clean, snatch) or moving more than 400 meters (running or rucking).
Each GORUCK Ballistic Trainer also includes a wide toebox for greater comfort, extra lace-lock eyelets to create a tighter heel lock, and GORUCK branding on the interior and tongue. You can check out all available sizes and additional colorways in the purchase area.

Outsole - Triple Compound Rubber
A high-traction rubber in the forefoot increases grip in any environment; the shoe’s midfoot rubber is formulated from a rock climbing compound for the best abrasion resistance and long term durability (ideal for rope climbs); and the heel rubber is extra dense and tough, designed not to wear down after miles of running or rucking.

Durable
Writing this after about one year of owning them.
They are very durable. They’ve not worn down much from wearing them in and out of the gym settings.
I’ve not used them for running, and stick to a specific running shoe for that.
I absolutely recommend these shoes, give them a try if you’re in the fence about them.

Might be my new favorite CF shoe!
I was pleasantly surprised with these shoes. Based on reviews I wasn’t sure if I’d like them but so far I really love them. I used to wear the Nike flyknits and needed a change and are very similar - stable but flexible plus have better arch support. There are two insole options too which is nice. I have more narrow feet (but a wide toebox) and these fit me great. I can see how someone with a wide foot may not love them though. I wore a Women’s 9.5 in Nike flyknits (10 in running shoes) and ordered the size that correlates with the 9.5 and they seem fine. I wish I would have also ordered a half size up to compare them but so far so good. I wouldn’t run long distances in them but for CrossFit intervals they are great. Highly recommend them so far.

For years, been looking for a replacement for my old Nano 2s. Finally found it with these. I can do my weight lifting in these despite the heel to toe drop being a bit more than I wanted. Solid soles with flexing in toe box. And of course, the most important thing being the toe box is wide enough (I am a 2EE width). I bought another pair to wear "out" and keeping this pair for my lifting.

A little small for size
These shoes are great for CrossFit, especially when you have classes where you are lifting and running. A great all round shoe! I would go up a size however - they are a small make.

Best shoes ever
I'm a big guy, 230, 6'5" size US14 and ruck for exercise.
These are just the best shoes ever. I ruck in them, lift in them, and use them for casual wear and travel. If I had to pick just one pair of shoes for the rest of my life, these would be the ones.
