The R.A.D R-1 is engineered as a versatile training shoe for gym work, HIIT sessions, and conditioning. Lightweight, breathable materials pair with a responsive midsole to support fast transitions, high-rep training, and mixed-modal workouts. It’s designed for athletes who want a single shoe that handles everything from circuit work to speed-focused conditioning.

RESPONSIVE FEEL FOR HIGH-INTENSITY TRAINING

At the core of the R-1 is R.A.D’s SwellFoam N2™ midsole—a supercritical foam that delivers energy return during jumps, sprints, and dynamic gym movements. A higher stack height adds cushioning without feeling unstable, keeping the shoe comfortable through longer sessions while staying reactive for fast efforts.

LIGHTWEIGHT, BREATHABLE CONSTRUCTION

The air mesh upper provides ventilation and a flexible feel, while targeted synthetic overlays add structure where it’s needed for lateral stability. A durable rubber outsole supplies reliable grip on gym surfaces, rounding out a balanced design built for daily training.

R.A.D (“Rally Against Destruction”) is a small, independent shoe company founded by a competitive CrossFit athlete and an experienced athletic shoe designer. Together, they have developed a light springy EVA midsole for the R.A.D. ONE called Swell Foam™, which is partly made from sugarcane (currently 30%), reducing the reliance on traditional, fossil-based materials in the shoe’s construction.
