Spud Inc. Traveling Farmer Walk Handles

Spud Inc. Traveling Farmer Walk Handles offer a simple, budget-priced alternative to full-scale, barbell-style farmer’s walk implements. The uniquely portable set includes a pair of 8' long nylon straps and two rubber-coated, steel-core handles measuring 1.5” in diameter. For set-up, simply adjust the buckle to a desired length, slide the strap-loop through the center of a plate (45LB, 100LB, whatever your preference), and pull the handle up through the loop. Repeat the process with the second strap, and you've got a functional farmer’s walk tool that fits in a gym bag and works great for use among multiple athletes.

Each strap on the Traveling Farmer Walk Handles is long enough and durable enough to allow 300+ pounds of steel plates to be loaded.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design/execution + way overpriced = avoid I bought these June 2017 and kept them stored in their original packaging for about 2 months before I could find time to put them to use. Once I did, I looked up a video on how to use them and put them to the task with only #125lbs. per handle. It took way too long to adjust the handle to equally appropriate heights which was the first annoyance. Secondly, no matter how often I tried to keep them from rotating into me (using different grips; neutral, prone, supinated) the plates would end up changing position in a way that began to become ridiculous compared to traditional farmers walk handles. Thirdly, the metal piece broke after only the 3rd workout from fairly gentle use with only #50 lbs bumper plates (my wife was using them at the time). Are you kidding me? Avoid this product, and save a bit more to buy steel farmers handles. You'll be glad you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these handles! I bought these farmer walk handles about a month ago and am very happy with my purchase! I love how these have the fat grip and how long the strap is to adjust for some serious weight. Thank you Rogue Fitness for supplying such a great product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good for grip, not for farmers walk While holding onto these is a great trainer for grip strength they don't transfer effectively to farmer's walk training. The handles are not fixed and so roll out of your hands like a dumbbell. This means you cannot load them to the same weight as a fixed handle bar. I have done 260/hand on a farmers handle and struggle to walk with 135/hand with these. Adjusting these to ideal height when changing weights between sets is cumbersome and difficult to do evenly, they also have a tendency to spin if they brush your legs. If you want to be able to crush beer cans then these are great, but you can't simulate having 500-600 pounds pulling down on your body which is crucial to surviving a farmers walk in competition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I bought these because my gym only has a trap bar for farmers walks and I wanted something that let each arm move independently. These are easy to toss into my bag and bring out onto the floor when needed. The wraps themselves are thick and sturdy and do look like they could hold a ton of weight. I saw some reviewers saying it was hard to get the buckle through the center of the plate but once I figured out cocking it sideways a bit helps then it became a non-issue for me. For me the only cons were the difficulty setting the whole thing up, and the handles themselves. Sitting on the floor and putting a few plates into the bands takes a few minutes so it's best done with some forethought during rest periods for some other lift, but this does seem to be a necessary evil since these are bands and I don't hold this against the product at all. As for the handles I think I would have preferred some sort of metal with some knurling on it. The current handles seem like they will be tricky to hold onto once I get sweatier. Overall a great product and I'm quite happy with it. The cons I have don't decrease the value at all for me at this time. If a version with metal handles comes out I'll likely replace my current pair with those immediately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 3 months Was not happy with this product. Adjusting weights and lengths was annoying. Also used them with 90lbs per hand (2 45lb plates per hand) for about three months then the one handle actually broke. Would not recommend, go with the steel ones.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea, doesn't quite work. Very sturdy. Difficult to get the buckle through the hole in a true 50mm plate. Weights twist while walking, difficult not to bang shins/trip. Not quick to load or unload. I like the handles. I've got long fingers and there is plenty of room for my hand.
