2022 Arnold Strongman Classic Recap | Part 4 of 4
Coverage of the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic; as re-broadcast on the CBS Sports Spectacular. Episode 4 of 4 in this series features the final event of the competition: Stone to Shoulder. The 2022 Arnold Classic took place March 4th and 5th in Columbus; Ohio; and featured 10 elite international Strongman athletes; including Martins Licis (USA); Rob Kearney (USA); Oleksii Novikov (Ukraine); and the Stoltman brothers (Scotland). For the first time in a decade; no past Arnold champions were part of the field; meaning a first-time champ was guaranteed to be crowned. In the weekend’s final challenge; the competitors have to lift Odd Haugen’s 410LB “Tombstone” from the ground to a stationary position on top of the shoulder for as many reps as possible. With Martin Licis holding a narrow lead heading into the event; Novikov would need to best him by at least 3 spots to claim the Arnold title.
