Road To The Arnold – 2023

Texas farm boy Trey Mitchell has gradually emerged as one of the most respected competitors in Strongman, and in 2023, he has as good a shot as anyone to claim the title at the upcoming Arnold Strongman Classic. Following a win at the ‘22 Shaw Classic and a second place finish at last fall’s Rogue Invitational, the 29 year-old “King of Stones” feels ready to take the next step in Columbus. “You’re gonna see me up on the podium,” he says.

The Arnold Strongman Classic and the first official Arnold Strongwoman Classic will both be taking place this March 3-4 as part of the 2023 Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio. Follow Rogue for regular updates on live streams, leaderboards and more.

After a third place finish at the 2022 Arnold Pro Strongwoman, Hannah Linzay is heading into this year’s first official Arnold Strongwoman Classic with a new level of confidence. A steel worker by day, Hannah’s never been fazed much by a brutal training regimen, and she’s been doggedly moving up the Strongwoman ranks since picking up the sport just five years ago. “I like to be the dark horse,” she says. “I don’t think anyone outworks me. I never wanna leave anything to chance. My discipline . . . my determination. I like to win.”

After an extremely impressive first year on the pro Strongman circuit, Mitchell Hooper is poised for the 2023 Arnold Classic to be his biggest statement to date. The calm and confident Canadian raised plenty of eyebrows at the Rogue Invitational last fall, finishing third in the competition and setting a new world record in the Replica Dinnie Stone Hold. With his reputation growing, Hooper won’t be sneaking up on anybody in Columbus, as his uniquely balanced skill set and analytical approach to the sport should make him a serious podium threat for the foreseeable future.

“If I wasn’t paid to do this and if I didn’t have any accolades, I would still be in the same gym doing the same thing,” Hooper says. “I love to do this.”
