Introducing The Rogue Air Rhino

Eight years in the making and born as a fusion of the Rogue Rhino and the flywheel from our Echo machines, the Air Rhino is a strength and conditioning machine using patent-pending technology to deliver resistance from 20LB up to 1,200LB.

The Air Rhino instantly adapts to you. The faster you pull, the harder it pulls back. With multiple resistance modes and precision metrics, this is an incredible tool for everything from rehabilitation to peak strength building.

The flywheel driven air rhino delivers several benefits.

The first one is Concentric-Only Resistance: The system ensures resistance is applied only during the active phase of the lift, allowing for an unburdened return to the starting position. This has several sub benefits.

  • The first is Safety: Without an eccentric load to control, the risk of joint strain is drastically reduced. If you train to failure, there is no heavy barbell waiting to trap or crush you.
  • The second is building explosiveness: Because resistance is determined by the speed of your pull, exploding out of the bottom of the lift is rewarded.
  • By eliminating lowering the weight, there is less soreness meaning you can perform high-intensity training with much greater frequency.
  • You can also start a lift from any point to work on sticking points without any additional equipment.

The second benefit is Speed-Dependent Resistance: The faster you pull, the greater the resistance.

The Air Rhino delivers the potential resistance of an entire rack of plates in a lightweight mobile package. 

For movements like squats and lunge, the Air Rhino allows you to disengage the resistance so you can get into the belt and start from the top of the lift. 

Adjusting resistance is easy. By sliding the damper, you can adjust the ease of starting and the maximum potential resistance. 

To deliver this experience across all fitness levels, the Air Rhino features two operating modes that offer scalable resistance. First is Standard Mode, which uses air resistance. It is perfectly scalable and accessible to anyone, meaning that it works for everything from rehab to strength training. 

If additional resistance is needed, switch into Rhino Mode. Like the standard Mode, the magnetic brake resists more the harder you pull, offering a challenge that will test even the strongest athletes on the planet. You can also stack the air resistance on top of the magnetic resistance for a potential 1,200LB peak load. 

To quantify performance, the console adds 2 strength-focused metrics to the work and distance-based metrics from other flywheel machines:

  • The first is Force Over Time: This tracks the total cumulative effort you put into the machine, giving you credit for both how hard you pulled and how long you sustained that pull. This is useful for measuring your total output during timed workouts. This also ensures taller athletes get credit for pulling a heavy load across a longer distance, while shorter athletes can make up the difference with more reps.
  • The second is Average Force: It calculates the average amount of force you applied throughout the repetition. Think of this as a barbell equivalent, giving you a familiar benchmark to track your progress. 400 lbs feels like 400 lbs.
  • It has the familiar metrics of watts, that measures power, and calories that measure work.
  • Distance is calculated differently from machines like rowers that track how far you moved in the water, this tracks the exact amount that the rope was pulled, both per rep and for the workout.
