Undefined Rest: Keep Your Workout Moving

Published: September 9, 2026

Programming a workout that mixes machines like the Rogue Echo Bike, Echo Rower, and Echo SKI with non-machine movements should feel seamless. Coming back to a machine mid-interval often means stopping to reset the monitor or hit “continue” before you can pick back up, and that pause adds real lag time to a workout that’s supposed to keep moving. The Rogue App‘s new Undefined Rest feature removes that friction, letting athletes move between machines and movements without ever touching the monitor.

Undefined Rest at a Glance

  • Removes the need to reset or restart machines between intervals
  • Keeps machine data recording accurately across transitions
  • Works across multiple connected machines in the same workout
  • Detects your return and starts your next interval automatically

The Problem with Manual Resets

When a workout combines machine work with bodyweight or free-weight movements, returning to the machine usually means a manual step: resetting the display, hitting continue, or re-entering the interval. That small delay breaks the rhythm of the workout and can throw off the accuracy of the data being recorded, especially in high-intensity intervals where seconds matter.

Why It Matters

  • Manual resets interrupt training flow
  • Delays can skew interval timing and machine data
  • Multi-machine workouts multiply the friction with every transition
  • The Fix: Undefined Rest

The updated Rogue App allows users to program a workout that moves between a machine and a movement without resetting anything. Once Undefined Rest is set, the app holds the workout in place while you complete your movement, then recognizes your return to the machine and starts the next interval automatically. The feature also supports multiple connected machines, so athletes can move between two or more machines in the same workout without a hitch.

Why It Works

  • No manual reset or “continue” required between rounds
  • App recognizes your return to the machine and starts the interval with no delay
  • Supports multiple machines in a single programmed workout
  • Keeps focus on training instead of managing the app or machine monitor

How to Use Undefined Rest

  1. Connect your machine(s) to the Rogue App.
  2. Select CONNECT on the M2 Monitor of the machine you want to connect to.
  3. Select CONNECT APP on your M2 Monitor, then select CONNECT in the app to pair with your desired machine. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. Create your interval workout or program a session combining machines and movements.
  5. Select Undefined Rest. This allows you to move to another movement or machine, and the app will be set for your return.
  6. Review your workout to confirm everything is entered correctly.
  7. Begin your workout when ready.
  8. Undefined Rest begins automatically as soon as you complete an interval — no need to adjust the app.
  9. Move to any connected machine when ready. The app will recognize it and start your next interval with no delay.

Built for How You Train

Undefined Rest is built for the way athletes actually train: moving between machines and movements without stopping to manage a screen. By removing manual resets and automatically picking up where you left off, it keeps workout data accurate and momentum intact, whether you’re running a simple interval or a multi-machine combination. It’s a small change to the app that removes a real source of friction from training.
