TrueForm Runner

The simple design of this unique, non-motorized treadmill is also what makes it one of the most effective devices for developing proper running technique. Unlike standard electric treadmills, the TrueForm Runner from Samsara Fitness features an innovative curved deck that is controlled 100% by the movements and force of the athlete using it. There are no on/off switches or complex buttons and settings to worry about. It’s a manually operated treadmill that helps train and reward technically-sound posture, balance, and cadence. Set your own limits or push right past them. The TrueForm Runner can handle even the most advanced and intense training regimens, creating the nearest simulation of genuine road running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best This treadmill is easy to use if you have the correct running form. I first found this at my gym! I loved it so much that I had to have one. Because you power the treadmill, it is easy to stop or slow down. No fear of flying off the treadmill. Also, comfortable if you are in the barefoot or minimalist running.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not natural The gait on this treadmill is just off. Doesn't feel like a natural running form and feet slap the belt. Felt like I was focusing more on "how" to run than actually running. Definitely not "true" form.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you're serious about running, no better option I blew my knee out in 2008 during a marathon. I had two choices: surgery and potentially never running long distance again or a year of painful, but reconstructive physical therapy. I opted for the second as I had then dreamed of one day being an Ironman. I didn't two hours a week on a Woodway, which is very similar to the true form runner. At first I could only walk slowly as I was still healing. But the action taken by the treadmill was to correct my form (the reason I blew my knee in the first place). At first it was easy because I was only walking, but I was still sore in places I had never been sore before because it was forcing me to change my position under load and consequentially forcing me to use different muscles. A year later I was running :00 splits on a mile with the Woodway versus grade running on hills. Now, 7 years later, i have more than 50 races under my belt, including Ironman. I never would have been able to do that with out this training. I urge all boxes to invest in at least one of these machines to correct your athletes running. I promise you, it will pay for itself in gratitude.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent treadmill- the best I did a ton of research on this treadmill and the woodway curve. They are both around 6k. Its a huge investment for a small gym, but it is well worth it. It really does ask you to run better. If you have poor mechanics, this treadmill will be tough to use at first. Once they clean up, its an incredible metabolic tool. I was able to demo the woodway curve and trueform on the same day and I liked the curve much more. Here are the reasons why I picked this over the curve: 1. Easier to change speeds- when I jumped on the curve, I felt as if I had a tough time changing speeds. If was difficult to slow down on the curve, not on the true form. The acceleration and deceleration on the trueform was more natural feeling. 2. The performance model allows me to perform top speed work due to the tethering system on the back. I just connect a harness to my athlete's waist, and they can perform true sprint work. This is an excellent feature to have on a treadmill. I train a good amount of mixed martial artists and this treadmill is a game changer for energy system work. 3. It was a "local" company! I live in MA and true form is out of CT. They have incredible customer support and you can actually talk to the guys who designed the treadmill. Overall this treadmill is excellent. Its built like a tank and look forward to purchasing another!
