Assault AirRunner

A New Breed of Treadmill from the Makers of the Assault AirBike.

The Assault AirRunner completely redefines the manual treadmill, offering superior steel construction, dependable stability, and no-limits functionality in a streamlined, energy-efficient design. Few high-performance running machines are as lightweight (280 LBS) and portable (built-in transport wheels) as the AirRunner, and its compact footprint makes it adaptable to just about any type of training space.

Because it’s a motorless treadmill, the AirRunner uses no electricity, running instead on the energy produced by the user’s own movement. Whether you’re a beginner athlete or a competitor at the highest levels, the machine can instantly conform to your desired speed, even if you change your output randomly at will. There is no maximum speed setting—if you want to push your limits during a workout, the AirRunner will be uniquely up to the task.

Assault’s precision design includes not only a solid steel frame and handrails, but corrosion resistant hardware and a durable slatted running surface—built with HIIT (high intensity interval training) in mind. The included AirRunner console keeps you informed on your time, calories burned, distance, speed, watts, and pace, with a number of heart-rate and interval programs available. The absence of a drive motor and lift motor also makes this treadmill easier to clean and maintain than many comparable indoor running machines.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great treadmill, display not so good The treadmill is great, the display has started flashing and restarting a few times which shouldn’t be allowed when paying this price for a product. On other sites i have seen others complain about this too...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product I bought this a few weeks ago. Its great for a home gym. Its probably worthy of being a commercial product for gyms. Its better than most treadmills I have used at commercial gyms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Easy to use, freedom from built-in programming, natural feel, encourages good running form and style. The unit supports both Bluetooth and Ant+ technology, easy pair the AirRunner’s controls directly with Zwift (mobile phone app, PC, Apple TV). I could never go back to an electric treadmill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great treadmill It's a lot closer (and probably harder) to road running than any other treadmill I've tried. It's light and easy to move around the home gym. On the expensive side, and, in this case, you get what you pay for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hardware is great, monitor is a complete failure I received the airrunner, and was impressed from the start with the build quality. For the first several weeks, just did basic runs and steady state paces. As I progressed and got used to the machine I started trying to program different types of workouts. This is where everything went downhill. I wanted to do an 8x500 meter interval with 90 seconds rest. I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to do this, guess what, it can't be done. You can only do timed intervals, not distance intervals. I contacted support and was told to set a target program of 500, and then when i got done, just program it again for 500 and start over. This is utterly ridiculous for a $4,000 treadmill. My next issue was the pace and total time are not even remotely close to being in sync. I programmed a 5k in and started the target program. A 10.9 kph pace equals 5:30 per kilometer time. I started out just barely faster than that around 11-11.1 kph so I would be ahead of my target. The first 1k took 5:47 to finish, so way off. I wanted to finish at 27:30 and kept having to go faster as I could tell something was off. I finished at a pace of 11.4 kph and a 5:15 per kilometer average. So 5:15 per kilometer (x 5k) would give me a finish time of 26:15. Nope, it took me 27:26 to finish. Bottom line, hardware is great, monitor is an utter failure. I have reached out to support to see if they can help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of garbage! Made in China! Just bought this machine and delivered Friday, if you’re looking to waste $3700 on a plastic China made treadmill, then have at it. If you’re 4 feet tall and 100lbs then this machine is for you as long as you don’t mind running twice as long to reach your distance. The machine is 80% plastic and I’m confident it will not make it long term! Track is only 17” wide, so if you’re a full grown man you will struggle to fit and run on this machine in any comfortable position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great treadmill We have had this treadmill for over a month, by far the best treadmill I have ever run on. Very smooth and much better than a regular treadmill. Great for creating a better running form.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 weeks in and love it Never tried one before buying it. I read the reviews and knew I wanted an interval training machine for my home gym during the NE winters. It took me a few runs to get comfortable but after 1 week I could hit sprinting speed in a few seconds from stepping on it. I don’t want to run on a motorized treadmill again. The electronic display has more functions then I was expecting and am pleased with this. I will say the treadmill is a beast to pick up. The rollers on the bottom work great but carrying it up a step was no joke. That said the plus side is the treadmill is a total tank and hope it holds up for years. Installation took 15 minutes, it is very simple and I am not handy.
