With Version 4.0, GORUCK has rolled out several important new design features, starting with beefed up padding at the top of the interior Ruck Plate Pocket for better protection during burpees and bear crawls. The exterior slant pocket has been removed for a more streamlined front panel, and the impact-vulnerable interior zippers have been replaced by hook-and-loop closures with convenient, oversized pull tabs.
Functionally, the Rucker remains a compact and comfortable “gym on your back,” built for weighted PT and equipped with an elevated plate pocket specifically designed to hold GORUCK’s exclusive Ruck Plates® (sold separately). An additional 10mm of EVA foam padding along the bottom section of the back panel supports the natural curve of your back, and 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps helps prevent friction burn even when training shirtless.
As another key upgrade, the 20L Rucker 4.0 now includes (2) plate pockets just like the 25L model, enabling the athlete to carry up to a 45LB and 30LB plate at the same time.

The primary material with all sizes and colorways of the Rucker 4.0 is 1000D CORDURA, with (4) padded handles (top, bottom, and both sides) and (2) interior mesh hook-and-loop pockets built in. Three rows of external MOLLE webbing are also included standard, along with a 3mm thick frame sheet, a hi-vis reflective safety stripe, and an adjustable/removable Sternum Training Strap to better disperse heavy loads. There are 2x3” hook-and-loop sections on the front panel and the Ruck Plate pocket for custom patch additions.

This is the first fully functional weight sled engineered to fit inside the plate pocket of a Rucker. Measuring just 12.5” x 9” x 1.85”, the versatile Rogue Pack Sled includes a removable weight post, pulling strap, and carabiner, giving athletes the durability and laser-cut steel quality of a full size Rogue sled in our most compact design ever. The combined weight of the sled and post is also equivalent to a 10LB ruck plate, making the Pack Sled a useful training tool both on the ground and on your back.
GoRuck Ruck Plates
The pockets of both the 20L and 25L Rucker are specifically optimized for holding GORUCK’s exclusive Ruck Plates, which can be added to your order a la carte in the purchase area. Available in 4 different weight increments (10LB, 20LB, 30LB, 45LB), these plates are precision-manufactured in the USA from quality, ductile iron ore, with convenient grab-and-go handles for easier handling and storage. A matte black powdercoat finish adds to the overall durability and rust resistance, and rounded ergonomic edges allow athletes to use the plates as separate weight training implements outside the rucksack.
Rogue Brick Bags
Rogue’s own exclusive Brick Bags are small, fillable sandbags that are available in two sizes (10LB and 20LB weight capacity) and well suited for adding to the main compartment of the Rucker. Constructed from a durable 1000D Cordura fabric with a convenient Velcro closure, Brick Bags enable custom, incremental weight adjustments not possible when rucking with plates alone. They can also be filled with sand while on-the-go; a great advantage when rucking on or near the beach.
