Bench more weight.

The Original Sling Shot will allow you to handle about a 10% overload in the bench press while avoiding the pain that comes along with pushing your body to the limit.  It mimics natural muscle movement by lengthening and shortening with the muscles thus giving support on the eccentric and concentric phase of a bench press.  This effect can greatly reduce stress on the shoulders, elbows, and chest.

Use the Original Slingshot for benching, pushups or for assistance on ring dips and Muscle Ups.

The Sling Shot was invented by world class powerlifter Mark Bell (545LB raw Bench, 854LB equipped Bench) to help lifters bench more weight safely and without pain. The Sling Shot is easy to put on, easy to use and will help maintain correct form. It is suitable for lifters of all ages and strength levels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Original Slingshot I had torn most of my shoulder and Bicep. I could no longer bench except partial. At 56 i wanted to lift again. A power lifter i trained with had me bench with sling shot. One of the best things i bought. i cannot go over 135 without it as my arm flairs out and pain. With the sling shot im hitting 275 pain free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoulder saver! I’ve had my Original Slingshot for about a month, and I love it. This is a tool! Yes, you can bench a new 1-rm your first workout, but it should also be used as intended by the inventor. It works by forcing your elbows in, for safety, while it takes part of the load off the bottom of the rep where rotators are most vulnerable which prevents injury. One of my clients, a hospital surgeon, says he regularly sees “meat off bone injuries” from heavy benching. Last year, at 45, I set a raw 1-rm of 280 lbs., but, in spite of careful preparations, over the months, the training caused tendinitis. My older shoulders just couldn’t keep up. I should have known better then to try to lift so heavy for so long, (I am an exercise physiologist), but my light and cautious bench press training was getting stagnant. I’ve since rehabbed my shoulder and I am pain-free, so I thought I would use Mark’s invention as a precaution and as an experiment. I wanted to see if his device could allow me to train heavy, again. Well, it made an immediate difference. I initially did high volume light training to get the form and then I did more weight, with more reps and more volume over the next few weeks. Instant better workout! I do some raw and slingshot during each workout, and my raw form has already changed for the better. * Remember for maximum benefit to pause at the bottom like Mark suggests. I do pause-reps with 225 for 8-10, and comfortably bench 275 for three, now. These are early days, so I am holding off from all-out 1-rm work. 300 feels like a gimme. With safety in mind, and newfound enthusiasm for bench press, I will use my Slingshot as part of my bench press routine forever.
