The lift is over and the clock should stop as soon as any part of either implement touches the ground

VIDEO SUBMISSION STANDARDS

All video submissions should be uncut and unedited in order to accurately display the performance. Videos shot with a fisheye lens or similar lens may be rejected due to the visual distortion these lenses cause. Sound should be ON during the filming. Be sure the athlete has adequate space to safely complete the movements and clear the area of all extra equipment, people, or other obstructions so that the video is clear.

Shoot the video from the front and place the camera low to the ground so that the floor and the lifter both stay in frame the entire time. Critical items that need to be clearly visible on the video:

  1. Full body of athlete including feet at all times
  2. The video must be able to clearly show both implements as soon as they entirely leave the ground
  3. Videos that do not show the lifted stones and the lifter for the entire video may be ineligible

Next the athlete will need to follow the steps outlined below:

  1. The submitted video should start with the entire athlete in frame stating their name, the challenge name and the competition name
  2. The athlete needs to show the camera all supportive equipment they are wearing or will wear for the challenge to confirm it all matches the rules outlined
  3. The camera should then clearly show all equipment the athlete will use during their challenge. All of the following must be shown:
    • All weight plates that will be used in their attempt (If applicable)
    • Plates need to clearly have the weights printed on them (If applicable)
    • The handles and loading pin and carabiner/strap combination that will be used (If applicable)
    • The Dinnie Stones, handles and area immediately around the stones (If applicable)
    • If the athlete is lifting the Dinnie Stone replica stones in Columbus, Ohio or the Dinnie Stones in Potarch Scotland, the video must make it abundantly clear of your location by showing your surroundings
    • All gear needs to stay in camera shot during the entire video
  4. The athlete must weigh all competition gear on camera.
    •  Note - this process can be skipped if the athlete is lifting the Dinnie Stones in Scotland or the replica stones at Rogue HQ
    • This process needs to start with showing scale calibration by placing a kettlebell/dumbbell on the scale and showing the scale reading is correct.
    • The camera must show each plate on the scale and show the scale reading
    • The athlete will need to place all non plate items onto a scale and show the scale reading
    • For example, if you are using a non Rogue Dinnie Ring handles, loading pin and carabiner all of those items need to be placed on the scale together with the weight showing in the same frame in order to verify the total load.
    • Required regardless of equipment brand
  5. Using the tape measure:
    • Note - this process can be skipped if the athlete is lifting the Dinnie Stones in Scotland or the replica stones at Rogue HQ
    • Assemble your implements and measure the distance from the floor to the top of your handle when fully extended to confirm it matches the standards listed above
    • If you are using custom “Dinnie Stone” type ring handles, measure the outside diameter of the rings and measure the ring thickness to confirm both measurements meet the standards listed above
    • Required regardless of equipment brand
  6. The camera should move back into the front, near ground filming angle for the lift attempt.
    • Athlete may set up and load their implements and prepare for the lift at this step
    • The final camera position should clearly show the moment both implements leave the ground entirely
    • Timer in full view of the camera
  7. Once the athlete is ready they may begin the lift based on the criteria outlined above
    • Timer begins as soon as both implements are entirely off the ground
  8. A soon as either implement touches the floor the clock stops and, the lift is over at this moment.
  • All of the steps above should be done with the camera continuously running for the video to be accepted
  • Failure to show these steps/items could make the video submission subject to rejection at the judges' discretion
