Rogue Fidget Bar

Co-developed with MobilityWOD founder and accomplished physiotherapist Kelly Starrett, the Rogue Fidget Bar is a swinging, pendulum-style footrest designed for use with modern standup desks, as well as traditional work stations.

The idea is simple. As scientific studies have increasingly revealed the health benefits of standing desks, the importance of expelling energy and avoiding prolonged stationary periods has become a growing focus, as well. The Fidget Bar is designed specifically for this purpose, giving office workers and students—or those who regularly use a desk in their own home—a way to lightly exercise one foot at a time in a back-and-forth motion. This natural human need for movement makes it much easier to remain focused and comfortable in the standing position, and the same principle applies for “healthy fidgeting” when sitting at a desk, too.

The portable, stand-alone Rogue Fidget Bar features a 3/16” thick laser-cut steel frame with a satin black powder coat finish. The footrest bar itself is made from solid steel with a standard texture black powder coat, and measures 17.5” across and ½” in diameter. It sits within a UHMW plastic block on each side of the frame, and moves in a fluid motion with no unwanted noise. We’ve also included (6) rubber grommets at the base of the unit to prevent sliding and protect your flooring. All Fidget Bars include both the Rogue and MobilityWOD logos laser-cut into the steel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I evaluated a few different options for a footrest at my standing desk. This was certainly the more expensive of the options (especially after shipping costs,) but as with so many things, you get exactly what you pay for. A box made out of some 2x4s and plywood might work, but won't be nearly as comfortable, versatile or sturdy. This makes it way easier to stand for extended periods of time during the day, and fits perfectly underneath my desk when I'm sitting down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 99% Perfect! Works great, competitors options look scrawny and squeaky. THIS IS SOUNDLESS, STURDY, And doesn't move when placed. (Great rubber bottom pads) Full all around rubber or abs plastic around metal swing rod. Rod is 1/2 inch in diameter. (I'm thinking competitors are only 3/8th at most). <This will hold up near forever!> (The pvc or rubber casing around The ends of The rod have a straight hole through them, however if I slide the bar all the way over that it can go, it doesn't hit the metal side) ^IF yours does, I'd suggest contacting rogue or trying to reasonably bend the sides slightly outward because you probably have a warped frame that's causing it. (Shipping dmg?) <or if you happen to stand fully or jump on the center of the rod, I could see if you weighed 200lbs or over that it could cause the weight to pull the frame slightly inward?> So. PERFECT. And really well priced imo. (Competitors shoddy alternatives cost more ironically)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Addition to Adjustable Desk! This makes a huge difference by taking pressure off my feet and lower back. Works great - highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great standing desk addition I think the fidget bar is a great addition to a stand up desk and use it most of the day. They only thing that needs improvement is a way to keep the bar from sliding to the side and contacting the support. Once the bar contacts the support and you are rocking back and forth, it makes a very annoying screeching sounds that is heard throughout the office.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good when used with other solutions I've been in rehab for my lower back going on six months. Luckily my employer has been very accommodating and has reimbursed me for the tools I need to get better. This is one of those tools. I've used the Veridesk for years but standing a lot actually made my back worse and it was due to 'just standing' and shifting weight. The Fidget bar is a giant help, but not the end-all. I actually pair this with the ErgoDriven Topo Mat and find that's the best solution. I can fidget, have feet in comfortable positions, sit/stand during the day. All-in-all, I wouldn't say this is a great stand-alone item but using it with other solutions that are best for you does make it great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I had this years ago Long story short, I'm returning to using a standing desk because I've developed hip pain since switching to a sitting desk over the last year or so. I used to have foot pain so the standing desk situation wasn't perfect so when I saw this I knew I had to have it. I just got my white fidget bar in the mail today and it's awesome so far. It seems plenty durable though it flexes a bit and I'm fidgeting with it pretty hard (lifelong ADHD here). I regard this as a MUST HAVE for standing desks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome addition to standing desk! It's pricey no question... but it's a welcome change of pace when standing at a desk. I had a $10 stepstool which served the purpose of allowing me to extend my standing times by relieving a leg with the captain stance, but this is much more engaging. The "micro movements" sounded gimmicky but actually "fidgeting" while leaning on this from time to time has extended my stand time even more without issue. I was on the fence on buying this or not- and very glad I took a chance.
