When it comes to fitness, the right gear can make all the difference. Whether you're lifting heavy weights, pushing through a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session, tackling a grueling CrossFit WOD, or hitting the pavement for a run, the right training shoes are essential. Proper footwear not only enhances performance but also provides crucial support and protection, reducing the risk of injury. At Rogue Fitness, we understand the diverse needs of athletes and fitness enthusiasts, which is why we offer a wide selection of top-quality training shoes designed to meet the demands of various training styles.
Selecting the appropriate training shoes depends on the type of activity you’re engaging in. Here’s a breakdown of the different types we carry:
Training Shoes: Ideal for those who engage in a variety of workouts, from strength training to conditioning. These shoes offer a balance of stability, support, and flexibility, making them perfect for hybrid training like CrossFit or HIIT. They are versatile enough to handle weightlifting, cardio, and agility exercises.
Weightlifting Shoes: Often referred to as “lifters” and specifically designed for weightlifting, these shoes feature a raised heel to improve squat depth and stability, a solid, non-compressible sole for maximum power transfer, and secure straps or laces for a locked-in feel. Lifters are essential for anyone serious about improving their strength training performance when it comes to weightlifting.
CrossFit Shoes: Similar to a training shoe, a shoe designed for CrossFit will strike a balance of support and flexibility. The top CrossFit shoes available are designed similarly to basketball or running shoes, equipped with features that cater to any WOD, supporting CrossFitters through any type of lift, sprints, climbs, and sled-pulls.
Running Shoes: Built for comfort and endurance, running shoes provide superior cushioning and support for the repetitive motion of running. They often have breathable materials, lightweight construction, and specialized outsoles to enhance grip and reduce impact on joints, making them perfect for long-distance runners and sprinters alike.
At Rogue, we pride ourselves on offering a curated selection of the best training shoes from industry-leading brands, including staples like Nike, Reebok, and Adidas, to versatile training shoe brands like GORUCK, R.A.D., TYR, and Inov-8. With a collection this large you’ll be sure to find the right shoes for your training.
With so many shoes to choose from, it’s important to decide what you plan on using your shoes for. For an all-around training shoe, you’ll want to choose a shoe that has a good balance between stability and flexibility allowing you to perform multiple movements in them, from weightlifting to running.
Typically you will want a shoe that has a firm sole with a low stack height, or the height of bottoms of your shoe, to provide as much stability as possible. For squatting, a weightlifting shoe with a raised heel can be ideal for those with limited ankle mobility.
Weightlifting shoes, or lifters, are ideal for weightlifting movements‒clean and snatch, as they both are centered around a variation of the squat. Having a raised heel in your shoes allows for improved ankle mobility, allowing you to get deeper into a squat.
Yes. Most training shoes strike a balance between having enough support for lifting while still being flexible enough and having enough cushion to allow you to run in them. Our multi-purpose training shoes are ideal for this type of training.
