Rogue C-70 Bar

Rogue C-70 Bar

Rogue C-70 Bar

The Rogue C-70 Bar is a shorty 35LB version of the Ohio Bar. Designed for competition use in the CrossFit Games, the barbell's shorter overall length (69") allows athletes to be spaced closer together. This can also benefit anyone training in tight quarters, be it a small garage gym, tight basement or busy training facility. This bar has knurl marks for both Olympic and Powerlifting grips and the distance between collars is 43" versus the standard 52".

The C-70 Bar features the same 28.5mm diameter, American 190,000 PSI steel, bronze bushings, and dual knurl marks as the standard-length Ohio Bar, and is backed by a 3 Year Warranty Against Bending*. Put to the test in CrossFit Games competition, this was the short barbell that supported 400+ pound deadlifts during the Men's Finals.

  • Machined and Assembled in Columbus, OH, USA
  • American-Made 190,000 PSI Steel
  • Weight: 35 lbs (16 kgs)
  • Length: 69” (16" shorter than the Ohio Bar)
  • Diameter: 28.5 mm (1.12")
  • Loadable sleeve length: 12”
  • Black zinc sleeve and shaft treatment
  • Dual knurl marks for Olympic lifts and Power lifts
  • No center knurl

Important Note: The C-70 Bar has a shorter distance between collars than a standard barbell (43" instead of 52"), meaning it cannot be racked on a standard power rack or squat stand.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rogue C-70 Bar is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great in limited spaces I use this at home. I have a concrete back porch that is half covered with stall matts for working out at home when I don't get to make it to the box. Then only down sides I have found are that the bar's whip feels a lot different I guess from it being shorter (not a bad thing just awkward at first) and that if you're tall like me the bar is too short to do snatches unless you're comfortable with a narrow grip. This is a great WOD bar though. It's length makes working out in smaller areas easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wod Bar This bar is solid. I use it for Wods 3-4 times a week. If you are in tight spaces or do on the road Wods, I would recommend it. The black zinc coating does come off of the sleeves, but that is to be expected. I can perform overhead squats and snatches with the bar, as it forcibly improved my should mobility. That was my main concern. If you do any heavier lifting (225 plus) you will feel the stiffness of the bar. Overall, solid piece of equipment here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for home gyms with space limitations This is the first Rogue Fitness item I ordered and now own. In the short time I have owned it, I put it through the paces for which I plan to use it, weightlifting workouts as opposed to powerlifting. I do both types of workouts but at different times of the year as it coincides with my sons training (football). It feels great and functions well through both snatch and power cleans. I don't currently have bumper plates, however if the quality of Rogue Fitness plates matches the quality of this bar I plan on adding Rogue Fitness bumper plates to my home gym. As the title review suggest, the space I use for doing snatch and power cleans is limited and this is perfect. There is nothing cheap about this smaller bar. You can't go wrong if your space is limited. The length of the bar is all you will notice, it has all the feel of an Olympic size bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for me but not for all.... This is an excellent shorty version of the Ohio bar. The bar is stiff, due to being shorter. It also has really good spin. The knurl is tacky but won't tear up your hands. I love that there is no center knurl so it doesn't tear up my shorts and quads during dl's, oly's, etc. I am 5'8" and this bar is perfect when I perform oly's, overhead squats, etc. However, I caution anyone much taller than me using this for such lifts. You may not be able to get your hands wide enough due to the shorter bar length. Overall, excellent bar for confined spaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bar! This is by far my favorite bar. It allows me to have more room for movements in my small garage. The quality/price ratio is amazing. I just wish it was offered in raw steel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pound for Pound best bar I have. I have the few bars at home to include the full size version of this bar ( Ohio Bar. ) have had the c-70 for about 6 months now. It is pound for pound the toughest bar that I have. The shorter size allow me to throw it in the jeep and take it to work or to a "destination workout." No problem with any movement so far. Thrusters, deadlifts, snatch, cleans and overhead squats, all fine. I am 5’10 and my grip goes right out to the collars on snatch/ OHS. That doesn’t bother me, but I can see how it could for anyone with a wider grip or bigger wing span than me. . Collars are shorter so if you have the wider economy bumper plates its max out at around 315. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bar Bought this bar a few months ago and have been using it about 4-5 times per week. Rogue shipped the bar in a sturdy and almost bulletproof tube that took a bit of time to open. The black finish on the sleeves wear off a bit from sliding the plates on and off but it still looks nice. The bar itself is still in pristine condition but then again I brush it down after every use and with oil every couple weeks. Shipping to where I live is very expensive for lifting equipment so I want to make sure this bar lasts. I have heard that Rogue bars are only guaranteed with Rogue plates. Well, I am using American Barbell bumpers since that is the only brand I can find locally and I don't seem to have any issues (although I wish they were Rogue Black training bumpers!). It feels a bit stiffer being a shorter bar, but for a smaller footprint, you really cannot say anything negative about this bar. It would be nice to have a short 45# bar but again, nothing to complain about. Can't wait to try a Rogue Oly bar one day.
