Rogue 29mm Stump Bar
Rogue 29mm Stump Bar
Product Description
ROGUE 29MM STUMP BAR
SPACE SAVING POWER BAR
Build strength without compromise with the Rogue 29MM Stump Bar. The Stump Bar is a rackable, short-sleeve version of our stainless steel Ohio Power Bar, built with the same 29MM diameter, 200,000 PSI, little-to-no flex shaft, bronze bushings, and aggressive knurl pattern. Though the shorter sleeve length (7.3125” vs 16.25”) reduces its potential weight loads, the 30LB Stump Bar is ideal for home gym owners who train in tight quarters or facilities tight on space who don’t need full-length sleeves for their powerlifting movements.
Please Note: Rogue recommends using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft. Steel on steel can cause rusting over time. See more tips here: Bar Care & Maintenance.
EFFICIENCY MEETS FUNCTIONALITY
The compact design doesn’t equate to lifting light weight. With a loadable sleeve length of just over 7" this bar has the capacity for (4) standard iron plates on each end, while still leaving ample room for collars. The 51.5” spacing between the sleeves allows this bar to be racked on any standard power rack or squat stand. This barbell allows for a wide range of strength movements from the rack or floor, all within limited space constraints.
For those looking to maximize the weight on shorter sleeves, the Rogue USA Olympic Plates or Rogue LB Calibrated Plates will allow you to exceed a 500lb+ total bar load.
CRAFTED FOR VERSATILITY
Every Rogue Stump Bar is specially machined and assembled in Columbus, OH using US steel that has been proven optimal for Powerlifting. The 200,000 PSI tensile strength shaft features single Powerlifting (IPF) knurl marks, and our signature Ohio Power Bar knurling pattern that is carefully refined for an aggressive grip without being too sharp or abrasive, ideal for powerlifting movements and accessory lifts

Best In Class Durability
With a F-Scale rating of F16-R, the Stump Bar is among the most durable barbells in its class. By optimizing materials and manufacturing techniques, the Stump Bar has been engineered to withstand the increased demands placed on barbells today. Read more here.
LOW PROFILE SLEEVE DESIGN
Our matte black sleeve option uses a new, low-profile, sleeve design that makes loading and unloading plates easier than ever. The precision-machined sleeve is then treated with our proprietary matte black process, significantly enhancing its resistance to corrosion and impact. This treatment ensures that the sleeves retain their appearance for a much longer duration compared to traditional sleeve finishes

How It's Made
Rogue Work Hardening
Our patented, proprietary process more than doubles the durability and lifespan of the barbell shaft compared to our competitors.
State-of-the-art Gauging
We use gauging normally employed in the aerospace industry to ensure that every bar that makes it to a customer is exactly as designed.
Barbell Durability
RUST RESISTANCE
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
BARBELL DURABILITY
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.
F SCALE™ APPLICATION
How a barbell is used will affect its durable lifespan and it's a key factor in determining what type of F Rating™ might be suitable for your gym's needs. This graph correlates the F Rating™ of a barbell with different types of usage in order to predict the durable lifespan. Using this data, we are able to make recommendations on what F Rating™ is appropriate for different training situations. With a rating of F16-R, the Rogue 29MM Stump Bar is rated to outlast a lifetime of lifting (50+ years) in a facility or home gym.

TENSILE STRENGTH
Expressed in PSI, tensile strength measures the maximum weight a barbell can support before deforming. The 200K tensile strength falls within the optimal range of not bending under normal use, yet not been inflated to the point that it will shorten the life of the bar.
BARBELL KNURLING EXPLAINED
Our signature power knurl is machined in a pattern that is deep and coarse, providing an ideal surface for heavy pulls without being sharp or abrasive.

Key Features of the 29MM Stump Bar
A Short But Rackable Power Bar
The Stump Bar is a space-saver and a game-changer for gym owners who want the feel, function, and rackability of a standard power bar, but don’t need the maximum loadable sleeve length. At a total length of 68.3125”, this bar is roughly 18” inches shorter than the Ohio Power Bar, and weighs 15 LBS less unloaded (30 LB vs 45LB). However, with a standard 29mm diameter shaft, powerlifting knurl marks, and rack-compatible sleeve spacing, the Stump Bar allows athletes to train exactly as they would with a full-length bar. Ample space is saved, and only the plate load potential is reduced.
200,000 PSI Tensile Strength
The 29mm diameter steel shaft has a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI, same as our full-length Ohio Power Bar. This means it has superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the Stump Bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. Its rating of F16-R in our F-Scale durability testing is twice that of the full-length Ohio Power Bar, as the shorter sleeves reduce the effect of each impact on the bar.
Aggressive Knurl
The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.
Finishing Touches
Each Stump Bar features a stainless steel shaft and a proprietary matte black sleeve finish. Stainless steel knows no rivals when it comes to oxidation resistance, and it’s also excellent for maintaining the original intended feel of the knurl. Our new sleeve finishing process is also uniquely effective, transforming the surface of the steel rather than coating it, greatly increasing the long-term corrosion resistance and color endurance of the matte black finish.
F SCALE™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.
OXIDATION RATE
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.
