Natural Grips

An alternative to traditional weightlifting gloves or bulky wraps, Natural Grips are made from a thin but durable Zinc Oxide 100% cotton tape, which can be custom fit to your hands based on ring finger size. The result is a comfortable, breathable, streamlined grip that protects the hands throughout high-rep weight training, pull-ups, etc.

Natural Grips should be secured tightly around the wrists before a workout using wrist wraps and/or athletic tape. Depending on how often they’re used, one pair of grips can have a shelf life of 3-6 months-- reliably preventing the torn skin and calluses that often derail strength training programs.

The correct sizing is critical in how effective your Natural Grips will be. Refer to the sizing chart below before placing an order.

  • Zinc Oxide 100% cotton tape (not available in most athletic shops)
  • Latex-free adhesive
  • Porous for breathability / NOT washable
  • Color: Black
  • Must be used in conjunction with athletic tape and/or wrist wraps for a secure fit

*Measure the circumference of your ring finger to determine your natural grip size. If you fall between sizes, order the larger size.

Fit Guide:

Ring Size 5 5 ½ 6 6 ½ 7 7 ½ 8 8 ½ 9 9 ½ 10 10 ½ 11 11 ½ 12
Circumference (mm) 49 51 52 53 55 56 57 58 59 61 62 63 65 66 68

Ring Finger: Measure the circumference of your ring finger to determine your natural grip size. If you fall between sizes, order the larger size.

Important Notes / Tips:

  1. Upon taking your grips out of the bag, place them on a flat surface and smooth out the material with your hands, making sure that all the areas on the grip are secured properly.
  2. When taping grips to wrist, you only want a slight wrist extension so that you have a little slack in the grip. You do not want a lot of slack.
  3. Once taped to wrist, put a little chalk on the grip and grab bar just below the finger loops. Do not perform a high volume WOD the first time out of the bag, this will TRASH your grips, the grips do require some time to break in. Once you used them 2-3 times on small volume WODs, the pieces start to melt / mesh together.
  4. Pay attention to where you are grabbing the bar. If you grab the bar and there is a lot of the grip above the bar then they will bunch so you want to stay away from this. This goes back to #2, you do NOT want to much slack in your grip.
  5. Post-WOD care: After the WOD lay them flat and if there are some minor wrinkles, smooth them out. If wet, let them air out. Do not leave in car in the hot sun or they will fall apart due to the high heat and humidity in some climates.
Natural Grip Product Update:   A few customers experienced an issue with the Grips bunching up during use.  Natural Grip has resolved the issue in the manufacturing process and has taken care of any customer affected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these!! I bought these because I was really tired of ripping my hands all the time after 5 pull ups. Yes, they are going to wear down a little but keep in mind these are made of tape! I bought these a few months back and they have worked perfectly. They will not look pretty after a couple uses especially with using chalk but Im telling you this was the best investment I have made. I use them every time I have to do anything on the rig in a workout. These beauties are a gem and I would highlight recommend them if you dont want to rip your hands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Still ripped I had high hopes for these, but I was very disappointed. The bunched up tape between the fingers is very uncomfortable, they don't absorb sweat, and my hands ripped after 22 pullups. Not sure what Shark Tank saw in this product. I would not recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would not buy I had brought the natural grips, did not work for me. I only used 3 times and they are all messed up. They are comfortable which is good. I would skip on this item

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not durable I bought these a while back and only used them during comp workouts because of the warnings that they would break and be ruined with repeated use. After 3 workouts, and proper care of them after each workout, they started to fall apart and are now useless. But to natural grips credit, they did work pretty good when they were still intact. I probably won't be buying anymore unless they can fix the current problems. And just to note, I used them exactly how instructed in the packaging.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bunching and Shredding I've used these for 5 workouts and one comp...and they are completely destroyed. I followed the break-in process as described by the company, but nothing is going to save them for high-volume pull-up days or rope climbs. At first I used wrist wraps to hold them on, which was fruitless since the grip would bunch up after a few reps. Tape is fine, but even when the slack is taken out when you tape them down they bunch up and cause blisters. I'll stick with the gymnastics grips or just straight up tape until v2 of these are produced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE I am on my 3rd pair now, when taped properly on ur wrists the wraps stay put during T2B, pull ups, and all lifting. No tears and easier to hold onto the bars. They last through sweat and all types of WODS. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews, I have turned 4 fellow crossfitters over to these and they are ALL happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruined after 5 uses I really liked these at first but they were so bunched up after 5 uses that they don't even cover my palm anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not impressed Tried them with wrist wraps and no matter how tight I wrapped them the grips were too loose so I had to take them off. Next time I tried tape and they seemed to work ok, however there was some bunching. Did a wod on Wednesday that involved a lot of pull ups... The grips bunched terribly and are now ruined since I bled all over them. My hands are tore up and now I will have to rely on making my own tape grips since my natural grips were trashed after not even 3 uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OCR use They held up for a lap and a half of BattleFrog and everything I could throw at them. Make a version that is stitched and not glued. Glue comes apart in mud and water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Not bulky, great for toes to bar and pull-ups. If you're tired of tearing your hands then you need these. Wish I bought these a long time ago

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bunching up issues Rogue- My grips definitely bunch up during use, even though I take particular care not to have extra slack. I also ordered 9/10 and my ring size is a 10, however, it cannot sit all of the way back on my finger and I believe this is contributing to the issue. Can you all provide a remedy? A size up seems necessary regardless of the size 10 ring I wear....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more tears I have used these now for 2+ months. Prior to trying these I had used the gymnastic grips and gloves. My constant complaint was I just didn't feel like I could hold onto the pull-up bar as well. I do not have this problem with Natural Grips. Since using them, I have not had any hand tears, even in workouts with 100+ pull-ups. Great product from this standpoint. A couple of caveats though. I do find that they slip out from under the wrist straps of the style in the picture. The stretchy velcro wrist straps work better at holding them in place. Also, if the WOD has movements that maybe you don't need wrist straps (i.e. Cindy) you have to be willing to wear wrist straps. A minor compromise. Finally, if you are doing barbell movements like cleans that require a front rack position, you need to set them up "looser" than if you just are doing pull-ups. A manageable issue in my opinion. Finally, froma durability standpoint, mine are holding up great. I do see that they will not last forever, but I expect they will last at least 6-9 months with proper care. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product... These grips do the job nicely. I have not experienced any tears or cuts while wearing them. They have held up thus far (month and a half in) and they aren't showing any signs of ripping, tearing or bunching as other reviews indicate. The finger holes have stretched a bit but I have yet to find any grips in which they don't. Just be sure to get the correct size via the chart provided (by ring size) so the stretching does not become an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! I rip almost every time I do pull up or toes to bar. The natural grips protect my hand well! The best is to tape them, they don't stay on as well with my wrist wraps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEVER USE ANYTHING ELSE!! No joke- these grips have changed my work performance so very much! They fit my hand exactly right so there is coverage exactly where I need it....every time I use them (which is daily)! Side note: I have been using Natural Grips for some time now and one pair I ordered did not hold up very well - I contacted the company and they INSTANTLY provided me a replacement pair as they had a small batch that were not up to the normal standards, they knew it and made it right! I have had ZERO problems since then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Natural Grips I have been using Natural Grips for over a year now and don't do high rep pull ups without them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best grips I have ever used!!! I have been using Natural Grips for close to a year and couldn't be happier. I do pull-ups and bar muscle-ups twice a week (once being high volume) and they will typically last 2-3 months without any issues. No other grip can match the versatility, I can easily transition from the pull-up bar or rings to the Barbell without the bulk that other grips come with. I recommend getting the right ring size to avoid them pulling and bunching.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK I bought these solely for high rep pull-ups. I used them the first time yesterday for Cindy, after a few rounds I was a believer, then after 10 rounds, the adhesive had given up they were completely bunched up at the crease between my fingers and my hand. At that point, I had to take them off. I did my best to stretch them out and flatten them, I'm not sure they survived 50 pull-ups.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not live up to the hype! I bought these about a month ago hoping that they would solve my problem with hand rips and tears. The first time I wore them my hands ripped. I was really disappointed! I ripped both my callouses and my palms regardless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE By far the worst product i've ever ordered from this site. By the end of a set of high rep pull-ups they have already come out of the wrist wraps and it takes another 2 minutes to reset them. Just use tape. If you need to learn how to make these from tape just go to youtube and google "how to tape your hands for cross fit". I really wanted to like these as my hands are always destroyed but they just don't work. Save your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy! Was really excited about the reviews of the natural grips, especially for use of high volume gymnastics. However, after one use they bunched up drastically. You are basically paying for the convenience of not having to make them yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lifesaver for your hands I bought these and immediately went & did ANGIE. They held up extremely well and I only used my wrist wraps to hold them on and can't wait to use them for the upcoming MURPH WOD. Great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for when your hands are ripped up Better than gymnastic grips but they still bunch up. Really good for high rep work that eats your hand though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome!!! I bought these grips to try yet, another set of grips. I couldn't be happier with them! I did Cindy the day when I got them. Got 16 rounds and my hands were perfect! They feel like I am not wearing anything in my hands. They are great! Would highly recommend them to anyone! The only thing is that they look like they may not last for years, but if they last me for 6 months, I'd be happy with my purchase :)
