Spud Inc Hanging Ab Straps

The Spud Inc Ab Straps are by far the best Ab Straps that I have used. For comparison I also have the Battle Bunkers which are also very good, and some other no named Ab Straps which were also very good from a power tower that I used to have. The power tower AS's were designed to be hung from a neutral grip pull up bar which wasn't working for my rack. So then I got the Battle Bunkers which are great made of 1000 D Cordura here in the USA, but they were a little too wide, and didn't quite hang low enough for where I like my hand placement to be when holding on. The Spud Inc's were the perfect fit for me hanging extra low so I could get my hand grip on the strap instead of the buckle part, and narrow enough making it quicker and easier to get my arms perfectly placed within the straps. These straps rated at 1,500lbs to say they're robust is a massive understatement, the metal buckle will break long before these straps will. they look great on my Rogue rack and are easy enough to tuck out of the way when not in use because of their extra long straps. One thing you should be aware of is that one of the things that makes them better than other Ab Straps IMO also makes them problematic. That is how long they are makes them difficult to fit on a 90" Power rack. I'm 6'1" and with a knurled socket pull up bar my feet would touch the ground even with my lats fully engaged. With my other straps that wasn't a problem. There are 2 work arounds for this 1 is obvious just keep your knees bent like when doing pull ups. Which for this particular exercise I like to fully extend my legs at the bottom for each rep so keeping my knees bent would have been a deal breaker. I liked these Straps so much that I was actually considering buying 100" uprights, but fortunately for me I remembered that I had a fat grip pull up bar that I no longer used. So by attaching that fat grip pull up bar to the middle of my rack braced by the top cross members it gave me the few extra inches that I needed to get full extension of my legs at the bottom of each rep. It also keeps me honest because if my lats aren't fully engaged my feet still bottom out. These Ab Straps are a 10 out of 10 for me and wouldn't change a thing about them even though for a 90" rack you have to figure out a work around in order to get a full leg extension at the bottom of each rep.

Couldn’t wait to hang these up and give them a go. Only to become frustrated after the first set and seeing that the material was slicing my wrist up! I tried three different sets on these and each time the material was digging into my wrist. Such a disappointment!

These train just like the leg raise/dip machines that most globo gyms have. Not sure of another way to focus on the core this way without burning up your hands while you have to hold the bar. Just let them hang from the bar in between. They definitely take up some real estate in your rack so be sure this is a movement you want to invest in before you buy. Not sure I'd buy them again now that I know you have to keep them up between workouts but will use them for sure!

The straps are nice, but carabiners provided do not fit around rogue skinny bar. New carabiners now need to be purchased in order to utilize. For the price of straps, provided carabiners should be compatible with standard pull-up bar.

Excellent design and comfort. Need to eliminate the cheap spring lock clip and use large carabiner that is easier for on and off. I swapped them out and for this price it should be part of the package.

Does a good job as a training tool. I would recommend getting better carabiner! The nylon is soft and the supplied carabiner catches on every bit of nylon and tears. Use some time and burn the open threads.
