MobilityWOD Supernova – 80mm

They say you can never have too much of a good thing, but sometimes a little less is all you need. Case in point, the miniature version of the Mobility WOD Supernova—with a reduced, 80mm diameter for easier targeting of some hard to reach trigger points.

Backed by the same science as the standard-size MobilityWOD Supernova, this groundbreaking massage ball is designed to go where your basic lacrosse balls can’t—creating higher global shear pressures for an intense, effective, and efficient brand of deep tissue therapy.

Use it after a workout, before bed, or during a lunch break to treat or prevent knots and soreness. The Supernova goes anywhere, works everywhere, and helps just about anybody recover faster to get back in the gym sooner. Since the standard Supernova has the motto: “More shear, more better, more awesome,” we’ll just tack on, “more smaller” for this one and you’ll get the gist.

  • Diameter: 80mm (3.15 inches)
  • Scientifically developed grooves for higher global shear pressures
  • Latex Free
  • Color: Blue
  • Includes Rogue logo in center

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skeptical at First, Sold Now I had my doubts about the ball but decided to give it a shot. When I first received it I used it a few times for my back and liked it. It had a good, solid feel to it with an even distribution of pressure (better than a lacrosse ball). Then I tried it on my legs. That's when I fell in love. It was like foam rolling only so much better. I could target points with more accuracy with just the right pressure. I ended up purchasing the 120mm ball and loving it too. I like the larger size but if I had to choose between both, I'd go with the 80mm ball. I'd definitely recommend both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential I had seen the supernova and had considered ordering one for a while but hesitated due to another reviewers negative experience with it's durability. After tweaking my neck surfing I decided I needed to give it a try in spite of my reservations. Well, let me now say that this item is a must have. I have several similar items and this one is by far the most effective, I've used it on my neck, hip, hand, quads and would not be without it. As for durability, I used it every single day for four months and many times over the last couple of months and it still looks brand new. For me the supernova is essential for my recovery routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mobility essential Supernova 80 mm is a great replacement of the lacrosse ball. It has exactly the right size to target all the small areas and is definitely worth its price. If your budget is limited, go with 80 mm instead of 120 mm because 80 mm is more universally applied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goes where the foam roller won't I bought this a few years ago to get into places that my roam roller can't get, such as pec minor, inside of the legs/groin, and anywhere else knots wouldn't release with a foam roller alone. This ball sticks to the ground or wall and won't slide out from underneath you unless you're putting most of your body weight into it at a very low angle. I can bring this to class or work with no extra space taken up in my backpack and it can do eveything my foam roller can, and more. Very good for lats as well. I think everyone should have one of these bad mamma jamma's!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All up in there never thought something could hit me in the groin and feel so good. Just got this yesterday and I was screaming in sweet sweet pain as I worked this thing through my hamstrings and groin using a bench

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This massage ball is a God send! I felt compelled to right a review about this product because I am thrilled with the results. Im 6'4'' 270 and I have very thick muscles and tissue and the MobilityWOD Supernova is the ONLY piece of equipment that has actually given me any tangible results. I've tried the lacrosse ball, baseball, softball, electronic stem pads at the chiropractors office, massage etc. None of those gave me any relief. The Supernova truly is a genius invention because it really does shear and dig deep into the tissues. I have deep, nasty knots throughout my upper back and glutes and therefore needed something that could get in very deep and break apart the trigger points. When I used the Supernova for the first time on my upper left back, I got results just after 10 minutes of therapy. My back felt as if it were on fire because of all the lactic acid and metabolic waste that was released from all the knots breaking apart. My massage therapist commented on how much looser my muscles are and how much easier it is for her to work on me. I will always have this massage ball from now on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for travel but hope it's stronger than v1 So far am really enjoying this tool. Like the larger v1 it really is superior in its 'smashing' and 'shearing' ability compared to all sorts of SFR tools I own. It's basically my favorite (of many!) SFR tools especially because I can bring it traveling due to its size and I can use it in lots of different ways and leave all my other tools at home. Potential issues?: I had TWO versions of the v1 that broke (known issue; hence the redesign of the original size) and Rogue was totally great about replacing them (thanks!) so I actually thought I'd try this 80mm one for a change as it looked like a 1-piece and being smaller I assumed it would be even stronger than the v2 120mm. After enjoying it for a month though this 80mm is starting to 'creak' so I'm not sure if it will eventually crack or split. Hopefully not...will have to wait and see but my hunch is it will. I am really confident I'm not abusing the tool but do weight 230lbs. Anyone else experience similar issues?
