Key Features of the Monster Lite Hip Thruster Bench

  • 1Designed Specifically for Hip Thrusts

As an increasingly popular lower body strength training exercise, the hip thrust has been proven effective for developing the glutes (as well as the hamstrings and quads) with far less loading on the spine than traditional barbell squats. This also makes it an excellent option for rehabilitation work. In the movement, the barbell is placed across the hips as the athlete sits on the floor. With each upward thrust of the hips, the shoulders also elevate and level out, which is where the Monster Lite Hip Thruster Bench comes in—providing leverage and padded protection through each rep.

  • 2Easy Set-Up in Monster Lite Rack/Rig

Compatible exclusively with the 43” space of Rogue Monster Lite units, this version of the Hip Thruster Bench offers space efficiency and convenience for any size gym, as the attachment ships fully assembled, with simple installation and takedown as you move through a regimen. The bench features formed channels on each end that can be secured to the uprights using the provided pair of 5/8" detent pins.

  • 3Quality Rogue Construction

Each Hip Thruster Bench is manufactured in the USA using a 2x 4" 11-gauge steel tube welded to 5/16" thick formed end plates with a MG Black powdercoat finish. Around the tube is a U-shaped, vinyl-covered pad that measures 2.25" thick on the top and 1.5" thick on the sides—protecting the back from contact with any hard steel surfaces as you train. The pad is 41” long in total and 7” deep. The entire HTB attachment weighs in at approx. 32 LBS.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best for RML fold back Racks Depending on where you mount the stringers, you may end up with a 20” hip thrust bench. You really can’t get more than just one placement that will work for a

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well built I got it for my wife. She says it’s hard to setup and insert the pins. Very strong and works well though. Awkward to store if not set up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mounts higher than a standard flat bench Poor design. Due to the location of crossbar supports on the Monster Lite power racks, the top of this item when mounted is higher than a standard flat bench. This defeats the purpose of buying a dedicated bench for hip thrusts, except for extremely tall people. I am 6’2” and it did not work for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my rack I got the thruster bench because I am short and a regular bench was to tall for me. Being able to adjust the bench on the rack is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great size, comfort; good design Great addition to my gym! I agree the mounting can be awkward and doesn't sit 100% square within my rig, but it works fine with a little patience. I'd give it 5 stars if it fit square, as the functionality is awesome

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok As others have written it does not go low enough. 19 inches which is higher than the rogue ab 2 bench. The website picture shows it mounted on 2 uprights without crossmembers. I have a RML3 and the spot where it would be perfect are where the bolts are that mount the crossmembers. I feel that much more thought could have gone into this unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Solid bench, significant design flaws. As others mentioned, this bench is really a pain to get on the rack. But, that wouldn't be a big deal if I could leave it in place all the time. Unfortunately, this bench has a significant design flaw. The support bars are too wide, so it's impossible to install this bench on the lowest support hole on my rack, and the second lowest hole prevents me from using the safeties at an appropriate height to bench. What do I do, Rogue? Do I take my bench grip in so I can raise the safeties and give up that sweet, sweet powerlifter leverage? Do I give up on the butt of my dreams? Do I resign myself to reconfiguring my rack every session? Either way, it was a bummer of a way to spend $200.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Accessory for Monster-Lite Racks Barbell Hip Thrusters are an amazing exercise. I typically use my bench, but decided to give this Hip Thruster Bench a try and I'm glad a did. The first Hip Thruster Bench Rogue sent me did not fit on the rack. The holes would not align. I've always found Rogue Customer Service to be good and this case was no exception. They sent me a new Hip Thruster Bench (HTB), which fit perfectly. The HTB can be hard to put on at first, but once you figure it out, it's not a big deal. I would advise using two people at first or you could easily scratch the powder coat on your rack. I've found the best way to put it on by myself is to stack plates in the middle of the uprights at the desired height then rest the HTB on the plates. From there, just a little movement is necessary to put the pins in and secure it to the rack. Once you figure out how to best put the HTB on, it is super sturdy and secure. The padding is really good and it works like a dream for Barbell Hip Thrusters. It is SO much more secure than a regular bench, I didn't know what I was missing until I used the HTB. Another reviewer indicated they had issues getting their HTB low on the rack. I have the MLW-4 and am able to get the HTB plenty low. It may be different on different racks. I haven't measured it, but it's far lower than a bench. I would guess around 12". If someone really wants to know, I will measure, just reply here. I've also found it can be used for many different exercises. One of my favorites is Band-Assisted Pistol Squats. I put the HTB about 12" off the ground (from ground to top of HTB) and a resistance band on the J-Cups about hip height give or take. I can do Pistol Squats, but when there is high volume, I can use the band assisted Pistol-Squats. This same setup has helped others so you have a safety at the bottom and can stand up from there. That's just one of the great uses I've found for it. Yes, I would recommend this product if you want to do Barbell Hip Thrusters, want to progress your pistol squats or many other uses. Just be careful putting it on for the first time and get a system so you don't scratch your rack.
