Nike Metcon 4 - Men's
Ridgerock / Elemental Gold / Gunsmoke / Black

Nike’s most durable cross-training shoe yet, the Metcon 4 is equally equipped for speed, grip, explosiveness, and stability. This design introduces an updated, reinforced textured print from toe to heel; an increase to six eyelets for better precision lacing; and a new array of color combinations.

With a drop-in midsole, low-profile rubber heel, and exclusive Flywire technology, Metcons deliver a lockdown fit and a dependable flat platform foundation for heavy lifts. The shoe’s molded flex grooves, light breathable construction, and sticky rubber forefoot also give an athlete added pivot-grip and support through sprints, rope climbs, box jumps, distance runs, sled training, and day-to-day abuse.

An abrasion-resistant film around the midfoot is critical to reducing heat and friction during a high octane training regimen, while the Metcon’s dependable traction performs on the gym floor, the track, and training grounds far off the beaten path.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CrossFit Shoe Look great. Feel great. Perform great. These shoes provide awesome stability for lifting, and superior grip for rope climbs. I highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tighter than previous versions I bought these in hopes that they would be just a better and updated version of the metcons I have from before (metcon 2). They are much tighter than the previous style and seem to mark or scuff up very easily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the better all around shoes It's a great all around shoe, that's about it. They last a pretty good amount of time, they're fairly stable and can be used for all of it - Not my favorite running shoe for long distances. They did make it slightly less laterally stiff, but they did make the shoe wider overall than the Metcon 3 which is great for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes As long as the quality and fit of this shoe doesn't change I'll never own a different kind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe!!! Went from Metcon 1's to the Metcon 4's and they are definitely a significant improvement. They feel significantly lighter but just as stable as the originals. They are tad bit more narrow in the toe box, but I don't have wide feet and enjoy the fit being a little bit more snug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good. I’ve only had my shoes for a few weeks but they fit well and seem to work well during the wods. My hip used to hurt when I ran with my old Nano’s and it doesn’t hurt when I run In these. In addition, everyone thinks my shoes are pretty sexy and that matters, right?! ;)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what was expected / Poor design I'm not going to give the shoes 1-star because they aren't what I personally want, but I also believe these shoes have some critical design flaws. First and foremost, this is a weigh lifting shoe first, a conditioning shoe second and a running shoe LAST. I do a lot of everything in my training so I generally go for more of a training shoe that works for lifting heavy, running mid-range distances on various surfaces (3-8 miles at a time), boxing and jumping. I was very happy with my last Nike training shoes, the Hyper cross TR 2, which unfortunately is discontinued. I though this would be similar based on the description. My main concerns with the design are as follows: This shoes doesn't have a true sole, the insole provides the bulk of the material under your foot and it is about 1/2-3/4 inch thick at the heel and 1/4 inch thick at the toes. This really gives the shoes a weight training feel. Second, the heel doesn't go up far enough and the shoe always feels like it's hanging onto your heel by a thread, this wouldn't be as much of a problem if it weren't for the third issue, which is that there is no extra eyelet at the top to tie your shoe heel-lock style. I've been tying my running shoes like this for years and have yet to come across a pair that didn't have the extra eyelet, I didn't even think to make sure before I ordered because I figured it was standard. So again, if you're looking for a weigh training specific shoe that will work for conditioning, these may be for you. But if you want an all encompassing shoe that you can also run long distance in, these are just not for you.
