ONNIT Quad Mace
When a functional training method survives for the better part of a millennium, it deserves a modern implement worthy of that legacy. The Quad Mace is ONNIT’s completely original take on a design that dates back to 11th century Persia, when warriors used the mace not only out on the battlefield, but as a training tool for building strength, balance, flexibility, and explosiveness.
The 25LB ONNIT Quad Mace features a hand-crafted, cast-iron head depicting the “Quad God,” a central figure in the artwork of Ohio-born visual artist Alex Grey. According to ONNIT, “the Quad God represents the unification of wisdom traditions of the four directions, which aligns well with the ONNIT functional fitness philosophy that embraces training modalities from all over the world.” The head also includes a large bronze locking cap with ONNIT branding.
The symmetry and balance of the mace head is further aided by an extra-long, slip-resistant wood handle constructed from quality ash—a nice alternative to the type of all-steel mace more readily found in the industry. ONNIT extended the handle length beyond that of other comparable swinging implements to give the athlete greater leverage during his or her training. Overall, the Quad Mace’s combination of balance and quality craftsmanship gives it a next-level durability—tested to withstand over 100,000 swings without showing signs of wear or distress.
There are almost limitless movements and exercises possible with the Quad Mace, from basic conditioning movements like the row-to-rotation and military press to more advanced “Barbarian” workouts like the pendulum swing, 360, swing-to-catch, and uppercut.
Important: The Quad Mace is NOT intended for use in slamming exercises, as this could damage the handle.
