KEY FEATURES OF THIS OHIO POWER BAR:

1

205,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI For Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI (200,000 PSI for Stainless), delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel.

2

Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

3

Bare Steel Finish

The Bare Steel creates a classic look and natural feel, the Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, and the Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) strikes a balance between the two. Depending on the look and feel you prefer, there is a version of the Ohio Power Bar right in your wheelhouse.

Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Ohio Power Bar owners can use this barbell in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products

5

Lifetime Warranty

The Ohio Power Bar’s quality construction is backed by Rogue’s Lifetime Warranty against bending. This is a barbell equipped for high intensity, everyday use.
*Please Note: The warranty does not cover damage due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user, i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage. Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Please Note: Like any fine piece of machined steel, a bare steel barbell will require some upkeep. Occasionally brushing the bar down with 3-in-1 oil or WD-40 will create a beautiful patina look. This is how bars were made for decades and it really does produce an unmatched feel.

Solid Bar
I purchased it a month ago and it has been great. It has only had very light use over this period and it has already developed some rust marks which I'm a bit dissappointed about. The bar has been kept inside in a dry space.

Excellent Bar
I needed one bar that I could use for squats, deadlifts, bench, and everything else. This bar is fantastic with great knurling. Excellent choice, especially if you’re only going to buy one barbell.

Perfect bar
I absolutely love this bar. The knurling is perfect, and I love bare steel -- I have used a B&R bar for years and am familiar with the upkeep of a bare steel bar. I live in an arid climate, so only occasional maintenance is required. Brushing the chalk off the bar also helps prevent rusting. You can't beat a bare steel bar -- it feels great, no need to worry about coatings chipping off, and they slowly patina over time.

Covered in metal shavings
Recently purchased the stainless bar with stainless sleeves. My holy grail and the last bar I would ever need. I removed it from the sleeve and immediately noticed that the knurling was covered in metal shavings. I tried to brush them off, but they were falling in my eyes while bench pressing. I spent nearly 2 hours with a can of compressed air, nylon brush, and duck tape trying to remove all the shavings. No luck. My hands still look like they have glitter all over them after I grip the bar. Very disappointing craftsmanship from Rogue on a bar this expensive. Aside from that, it’s a good bar. The knurling isn’t as aggressive as my zinc coated Texas power bar; which was surprising. I prefer an aggressive knurl and might have to sell this one. I would consider the aggro, but since Rogue sends out uncoated bars covered in metal shavings, I probably won’t risk another try to the eye doctor for foreign body removal.
Metal shavings. This was after 2 hours of brushing the bar to remove them.

Excellent Bar
I have had this bar for a few month now, doing mainly squat and deadlift variations, and am really enjoying it. The aggressiveness of the knurling is just right for me and the build quality is excellent. I went for the bare steel version and the feel of it is very nice, but it does require more maintenance than I expected to keep rust free. If I had my time again I would probably go for coated version.

Great bar with aggressive knurling
As you can tell from all the other reviews, this is an excellent bar at a reasonable price. I got a bar with the black zinc coating, and the knurling is quite aggressive. I'm very happy with it, but just wanted to give a heads up in case people are looking for something smoother or more gentle on the hands. If so, black zinc is probably too harsh for you.
