Rogue 45LB Ohio Power Bar - Stainless Steel

This is the premier power bar in the Rogue arsenal; equipped with a stainless steel shaft and sleeves for a superior feel and unmatched oxidation resistance.

The Stainless 45LB Ohio Power Bar is manufactured in Columbus, OH, and includes a zero-flex 200,000 PSI tensile strength shaft, quality bronze bushings, and 16.25” of loadable sleeve length.

All of our 29mm Ohio Power Bars also feature single powerlifting knurl marks and center knurling, machined in a pattern that’s deep and coarse without being sharp or abrasive. This makes the bar a perfectly honed workhorse for the bench, squat, and deadlift.

Note on Stainless Steel: Barbells made from raw steel are not plated and therefore marks from the machining process may be visible. Stainless steel shafts will show CNC processing marks. These are cosmetic and will not impact the barbell's performance

Please Note: Rogue recommends using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft. Steel on steel can cause rusting over time. See more tips here: Bar Care & Maintenance.

*Please Note: The optional Proprietary Matte Black metal treatment process also hardens the steel, which can cause some additional friction with plates that have a chamfer.

Stainless Steel

No finish offers better oxidation resistance than stainless steel, and this version of the Ohio Power Bar features a stainless shaft and the option for stainless sleeves. Stainless steel is low maintenance for gym owners, and eliminates worries about chipping or wearing down the finish on the bar’s sleeves. As noted, we recommend using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft.

200,000 PSI Tensile Strength

The Stainless Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft has a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel.

Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

Lifetime Warranty

The quality construction of the Stainless Ohio Power Bar is backed by Rogue’s Lifetime Warranty against bending. This is a barbell equipped for high intensity, everyday use. Please Note: The warranty does not cover damage due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user, i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage. Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Who Needs Stainless Steel...Everyone
This bar is amazing! The knurling is so perfect and the quality is unmatched. I love the black sync sleeves, it just looks awesome against the black rack. This bar lives in the garage, so the stainless will be helpful with the humidity and likely reduce any rusting issues for it's lifetime.

Not So Great
This bar was definitely a disappointment considering the high regard I have for rogue and their quality standards. Like other reviews have stated there are some inconsistencies and blemishes on the shaft that are not typical from my experience with other bars I have purchased from rogue. The biggest issue with my bar however is with the sleeves. One sleeve seems to be to specs but the other measures a bit larger and there is a ton of friction and shaving of material when putting plates on and off. Hasn’t caused any damage to plates but the finish on the one sleeve is fading fast after just a few weeks of use. Overall a solid bar from a function standpoint but is a noticeable drop off in quality from my previous experience with rogue bars and equipment.

Great bar!
I bought this bar during the MBF sale and love it. I haven't used a barbell in a while but did plenty of research and ended up selecting this one. It is perfect for any of my workouts. The only thing I feel is that the knurling can be somewhat aggressive, but I would rather have that than having it be somewhat passive, as I can always use gloves if I need to protect my hands a little. Highly recommend!

Great Bar, Experienced Lifter
I would probably give a 4.5 or 4.6 That being said, I love this bar ! I don't want a shiny bar that looks fancy I want a bar that handles my weight Unless on a specific squat bar this is my favorite to squat with or bench (I have 4 power bars) I would rate 5.0 if it didn't flex as much on heavy squat It feels great on back or in hands

Let's get a few things straight...
Okay, so I bought this bar during black Friday. There are a bunch of negative reviews on here and I've read them and wanted to add my own comments and set some things straight. First, there are definitely machine marks on the stainless steel part of the bar. I had a bare steel bar before this one and didn't notice anything like what I see now. However, none of these marks can be felt. If you closed your eyes and ran your fingers along the length, you'd feel a perfectly smooth bar. It isn't polished pretty but it's stainless steel and that's what I want. Knurling is fantastic. I like it more than the bare steel version. The proprietary black sleeves. First, yes the plates are noticeably harder to put on the sleeves. On my bare steel bar, the plates slide on. With this finish, I think the coefficient of friction is higher so the plates don't glide on. With the black sleeves, the plates stick quite a lot until you find a good way to put them on. If you take care to hold the plate perfectly vertical to the horizontal bar, I've found no issue getting plates on. The plates do leave a lot of marks on the black coating. Rogue commented on other reviews saying that you can wipe the marks off with a rag. I found this to be partially true. With a rag, I think 90% of the marks come off with small tracks still visible where you slide your plates. I don't think this is a removal of the coating but actually tiny amounts of your plate stuck into the ridges of the bar. I am not concerned about the coating wearing off and actually I'm pretty happy with it. It does look a little beat up quickly but I'm here to lift weights, not win a beauty pageant with my equipment. Overall, 5/5 stars. I think the product is excellent. It's not going to be what you're used to as far as gliding plates onto the bar and it's a little ugly cosmetically, but function is everything and this bar functions perfectly. ALL that to be said, if given a choice, I'd probably not choose the matte black sleeves again given what I know now. I only chose it this time because it was on sale. I'd probably spring for the stainless sleeves myself but the difference in cost between my sale price $295 and full price $480 is significant.

Knurl good. Sleeves suck. Lots of burrs.
Received it with lots of defects and marks all over the shaft during black November. Looked worse than blems. And I machine stuff. So it's not machine marks, not symmetrical at all, looks like a bunch of random scuffs and pitting. Not sure if it's the get rid of these special or just normal for Rogue
