Inter-Collegiate Gymnastics – Strength Magazine – February, 1930

A figure lithe and lean, with shapely muscles rippling under his smooth white skin, approaches the mat on which he is going to per-· form. The spectators hold their breath in anticipation, for the man’s skill is about to be judged. To one side of the room the chief judge stands; he gives the waiting gymnast the signal to begin and the latter swiftly steps onto the mat.
